Dined here with one of my closest and oldest pals visiting from Ireland and it was amazing.... the restaurant itself, the service, the food, the wine and the entire experience was amazing.... A real treat and can't wait to go back!
Lovely Sunday lunch
We went there with the Sunday lunch special offer and it was very lovely. Food is fantastic and the service is brilliant. Quite long to wait for each course but being Sunday lunch we were in no rush. Have been here previously on my birthday and think it's a really special place with a lovely bar which is worth popping into for a few cocktails if you are not eating.
The restaurant was absolutely beautiful and the food was outstanding. The service was excellent - they brought me a birthday treat and didn't bat an eyelid when an extra person joined for pudding only. Really welcoming and very thoughtful, beautiful food and fabulous surroundings. A definite find - especially for the bargain Sunday lunch.
A friend took me to Boundary for my birthday and I really enjoyed it. The starter of scallops was yummy and the mains of monk fish was presented beautifully and tasted gorgeous. The wine and cocktails, especially the latter were second to none (martini). Service was attentive. Its an intimate place, with tables and lighting making you feel you have a private dining area which I liked. There is also a lovely roof terrace for drinks and views across London. I really recommend Boundary for foodies, its a lovely place to treat someone to a nice meal.
Had a lovely dinner at Boundary, great service and food was tasty. Bit pricey so good for occasions, but for those that want a more chilled evening the rooftop serves nibbles and has great space for parties or just a social catch up.
This is one of the best restaurants in North London, particularly for lunch at a weekend, when it is particularly popular with families. The food is original and imaginative and the service first class. In the evenings it is also extremely good, but very expensive (particuolarly the wines). A word of warning about parking. It is almost impossible to find a parking space anywhere near the restaurant during the day on Saturdays, or before 2.00 pm on Sundays (when the restrictions end).
Started with drinks on the roof top bar which is well worthwhile if the weather's good. Restaurant has a nice atmos, a nice mix of trendy shoreditch and city suits, and everything else in between. Menu is good and varied and was the execution was good apart from a disappointing creme brulee which they took off the bill when i mentioned it. Sommelier was knowledgeable and helpful.
Definitely recommend it but it wasn't cheap!
Fabulous service, everyone was very welcoming and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
First rate service, wonderful spot
The food ain't half bad either, but it's the service which I think makes a meal at Boundary so special. From the receptionist to the maitre d, the waiters to the chef, the barman to the sommelier, everyone there seems mission bound to make your experience flawless. Fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere.
Fantastic service, ambiance, food
The decor was beautiful and classy. The servers were professional and friendly. The selection and quality of food was fantastic. Have been here a couple of times now and everytime has been stellar.
My favourite restaurant
For every visit they give me reasons to return - fine/quality food, excellent service, impressive wine list, great ambience.
stylish, perfect service, but dear
delicious cocktails and great array of drinks
staff were on point - tending to all our needs without even being seen - the perfect type of waiting...very discreet
food was good - i wasn't blown away by the dishes
but it is decent
as were the wine recommendations
and the desert! the salted caramel parfait was amazing!
Worth a Visit
If you can ignore the strange almost childlike murals on the walls upon arrival at the entrance and stair to this restaurant then you will arrive at a very pleasant and sophisticated restaurant based in the cellar of this warehouse. The food is excellent if a little on the ungenerous side. You may feel a little cheated if you order the whole lobster, but the passion fruit souffle was excellent, and I love a dessert. The cheese tray selection was varied and assistance genrously given if wanted in choosing the best cheeses. Overall a very enjoyable meal. Worth a visit.
My partner & I booked to celebrate
My partner & I booked to celebrate our anniversary; a very good decision! As we arrived on time, we missed the opportunity of having an aperitif in the smart bar next to the restaurant, which are both situated in the basement. The space is wonderful; high ceilings, beautifully decorated with soft furnishings which meant the restaurant wasn't noisy. The spacing between tables is good, staff polite & attentive without being intrusive. The food was phenomenal; beautifully presented, delicious with some interesting combinations! The wine list was comprehensive. There was a good mix of people & in various size groups. We will definitely go again.
What an evening @ Boundary.. Took a girlfriend from Australia here as she is such a wine & food buff and she absolutely loved it! We had 3 courses and drank some super wines! The beef was just divine, as was the cheese :-) Just simply love this place.. Service is just fabulous - long may it continue!
Best Restaurant in London
The lunch menu offered a great variety but the French staff made good recommendation and we were very happy with the excellent food served. The rock oysters were fresh and fat. The slow cooked duck leg was succulent and flavorful without being too salty. The wine recommended to pair our main was excellent. He even went the extra mile to allow me to change my dessert, i.e. blackcurrant soufflé with "coconut sorbet", to change the sorbet to another flavour twice, as I don't like coconut and vanilla. The blackcurrant soufflé topped with a cherry soufflé was just as lovely. The lunch was value for money given the food served and the setting of the restaurant. The ambience was rather classy yet the staff were extremely friendly and warm.
Excellent food and service
Great place to eat in Shoreditch a little different from more relaxed dining in the area. Excellent lamb!!!!!
As good as the reviews say!:)
We mixed up the fixed price set menu with a la carte to have a taste
of as much as possible.
The food was fault free and scrumptious.
The service was superb.the team were genuinely
interested in us without being pompous or overbearing.
10/10 we would definately go again.
Immaculate service and great vibe
Boundary is on the verge of a Michelin star - the staff are very attentive, knowledgeable and trying to go the extra mile (table found on the rooftop bar after dinner). Quality and price of the food was great: top shelf and for this is consider coming back again and again.
Sadly the reason not to is the wine list. It isn't priced well against the food menu nor the cocktail bar menu: very little under £80-100 per bottle and you have to hunt for these wines. The mark-ups here are up there in the clouds and has left a poor taste (over the delicious food).
Overall great food, service and ambience... Just choose wisely on the wine.
This is not my first visit
This is not my first visit to the Boundary and it won't be my last. Guaranteed a delicious meal with impeccable service.
We asked for some changes on the menu as we wanted a more simple meal, more meat and veg than meat and fois gras.
The chef was very accommodating and offered us a complimentary starter salad and a larger piece of meat to make up for the items we did not want.
It is a little on the pricey side but you definitely receive your moneys worth with the food and the entire experience.
A Special Evening at The Boundary
Went to The Boundary to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and the night could not have gone better. Great food, great service and the fact we were able to have pre/post dinner drinks on the rooftop made it all the more special!
Nice ambience and excellent service
Food also very good
Soufflé had not completely risen so gave the course for free which we tried to decline; service has to be commended once again. It tasted great regardless.
Second time we have been and
Second time we have been and won't be the last, absolutely perfect! A great venue for a Friday night post work wind down.
Special Dining Experience
My mother insists that she brings us here whenever she visits London. Suspect she is trying to spend my inheritance at a vulgar pace.
Wonderful ambience, perfect service by knowledable friendly staff. The wine is over priced but the whole experience is special.
They quickly responded when
They quickly responded when we wanted to change our reservation time, which was really great. However, the only bad thing, was that we had to wait a lot when we went there. And the waiting area is not comfortable. Other than that, a great experience!
Lovely atmosphere, good food and wine, Chef cooked something not on the menu for my 5 year old daughter. Won't recommend taking young children there
The Boundary delivers
The Boundary restaurant is one of London's finest dining experiences. Set in a former print works the restaurant showing how former industrial buildings can be regeneration with style and elegance. However what made this dining experience exceptional was the staff. Everyone we came in contact with were extremely professional but allowed their own individual personality and genuine charm to come through - our time there memorable for all the right reasons. And the food was exceptional. Can't wait to have an excuse to go back!
Great meal, lovely staff,
Great meal, lovely staff, good value with the prix fixe. Will be back, probably to try the Sunday lunch.
Fantastic service, great food. Optional prix fixe menu at good price. Had a lovely time.
Charcuterie the star
We had the prix fixe which is available any time. Great, I hate lots of choice, it was a Monday night so not usually a time to splurge, and besides, it's a very good menu . The charcuterie from the trolley was served to us with a great sense of theatre by the charming server. Made the experience special. Thanks.
great interior work complimented
great interior work complimented by matching quality of food.
would recommend a trip to the rooftop bar(separate) as well.
Another fabulous meal at Boundary.
Another fabulous meal at Boundary. As always, the staff are exceptional and the food delicious. Will be back again, soon!
Great value; a treat of a place
When you go to some restaurants and opt for the Prix Fixe menu, you often end up with an inferior, smaller meal that makes you feel a bit second class citizen and sneered at. Not so at The Boundary. The four of us opted for the fixed price menue - three courses for £25.50 - and it was amazing. We spent the money we saved on wine to die for. Follow our lead and you'll have a great night. Oh, and the service was faultless, too.
A great find in Shoreditch
Boundary Restaurant on Saturday night was excellent. We started with a couple of drinks on the rooftop terrace which had a terrific vibe (and a nice view) followed by the three course set menu downstairs in the restaurant. The service was excellent, food very tasty and an all round great experience. We will go back!
To put it simply, the Sunday Lunch was most delicious. My two friends and I all had the £24.50 three course lunch and was almost faultless. My only criticism is that the portions for the main course could have been more generous. Other than that the food was delicious, the wine lovely and the service at just the right level of attentiveness.
Five star experience
My partner and I dined here last Friday evening to celebrate our anniversary, we started with G&T's on the contemporary roof terrace followed by a delicious three course meal in the Boundary restaurant - We choose the oysters as a
pre-starter then ordered the charcuterie which was brought to the table on chariot and prepared in front of us. For main course we enjoyed the John Dory and Sea Bass together with steamed green vegetables, we sadly couldn't manage dessert.
The staff were just perfect, anticipating ones every needs without being intrusive, such a highly professional team! the food was generous, delicious and beautifully presented, thank you!
Going down the stairs you will be surprised by the cosy atmosphere of this underground hotel restaurant. "Atmosphère, atmosphère , est-ce-que j'ai une gueule d'atmosphère?". But surprisingly no Arlety, no Jean Gabin. A French French with not the attitude.
Always a pleasure...!
Once again The Boundary maintains its excellent service levels and quality of food. We will keep coming back.
not cheap, but worth it
the room was lovely, food great and service just right side of attentive without being overbearing. Only problem when you leave over £200 on a meal for two it has to be good or maybe i have to drink less.
Fabulous food, special setting
I've been to the Boundary a number of times and it never disappoints. It's set in a beautiful building with gorgeous decor - you feel special without any fussiness. It's a place for special occasions or just somewhere you can go often where the food is reliably delicious.
Calm Oasis in Shoreditch
What a lovely lunch. Comfortable seating, wonderful charcuterie and roast beef and, to top it all, just a light buzz of chatter without the usual raucous guffaws and exclamations so common now when eating out. A grown up restaurant.
A lovely deal, a lovely restaurant
Having spent a small fortune dining here last Xmas I was pleased to see a great deal for Sunday lunch to take my partner and mother to. Outstanding value, great food, very fine dining. If you want a fat roast with all the trimmings, this isn't for you, but if you're looking for refined and delicious, it is.
Took my ex-wife for her 40th.
Took my ex-wife for her 40th. We took the tasting menu, 7 courses and had the Sommelier match with wine. Well, sake for the oyster which was quite inspired. Excellent service, great food and smashing decor.
The dessert, they must have heard me mention it was her birthday and unprompted, brought it with a candle and "Happy Birthday" written on her plate.
Mid week dinner
Took my wife here as a birthday treat for her, and we really experienced what "Service" is all about. We went mid week. The waiters were friendly, attentive and there when you wanted them and were perfect. The decor of the Restaurant is great and the atmosphere is also great. There were a mix of couples and business type diners, but all looked relaxed and like they were adding to the positive atmosphere. There was a nice buzz in the air. There is a choice of a set meal of 3 courses for under £30, which I had. The overall bill was still over £150 inc tip !. Nice place for special occasions and with great service. The food was nice if a little pricey. Overall very enjoyable experience
Had a lovely late dinner here on Saturday with old foodie friends. Cocktails were potent, food choice and taste, fantastic and loved the Portugese wine we found for under £30.
I would say that the food on the set menu was a fantastic bargain if you can't stomach the prices on the A La Carte.
The prix fixe menu at £25.50
The prix fixe menu at £25.50 is still good value. Recommended
Wonderful night out
I took 2 friends from the US to Boundary on Thursday evening and they raved about it. Wonderful
food and a very relaxed atmosphere.
Fri night surprise
Having not made a plan and being unfamiliar with shore ditch I had a quick scan on top table and the roof top terrace and the decor of funked up classic caught my eye.
Spot on, beautiful red velvet chairs and fine glasses with exposed brick and great pictures covering the wall but the holding bar.
Service was excellent with a non intrusive manner and there was a wide variety of unusual cocktails fine wine and cheese. Recommend!
very nice venue and good food.
very nice venue and good food. However the receptionists were unwelcoming
An additional especially healthier option for the set menu would be good.
