I've eaten at Aubaine (Mayfair) before and this one at Kensington High Street is also a delight. They do very well to cater for allergy freaks like me and the food was delicious. We stayed there for hours! Nobody made us feel uncomfortable or asked us to leave. Waiters were attentive and not over the top. Excellent.
My second visit here. A fantastic little place, excellent food with excellent service. Yes perhaps a little pricey, however food was perfectly cooked and staff very friendly providing just the right amount of attention.
A real treat
Having gone to a matinee at The Albert Hall we wanted to round off the day with a special meal: our daughter had recommended this restaurant to us and it certainly excelled our expectations. The service was friendly and the starters were delicious. My beetroot gravadlax really tickled the taste buds and the main course of roast cod reflected high quality and freshness. Husband's tempura squid followed by venison casserole surpassed his expectations. The portions were not over large so that every mouthful was delicious to the end. The side dishes were really enjoyable, too.
very good meal, great service,
very good meal, great service, very friendly staffs, the bread was so fantastic, that i bought one to take home for breakfast. FANTASTIC
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the prix fixe menu that had a good choice of dishes. Food was very good.
Always have a great meal at Aubaine , great setting and lovely menu!
Nice Food, Kind staff, Everything was nice to enjoy night!!
Great food for reasonable price (with the 2 courses for £20) I'll gladly return!
Romance in Kensington
On february the 14th, Valentine's day, I took my girlfriend out for a surprise meal at this fabulous establishment. Situated looking out onto the bustling road of kensington high street, the table for two we chose had a dazzling view of the plethoric sea of cars and people passing by. Even though the restaurant is surrounded with floor to ceiling windows on all but two sides, the atmosphere still retains its intimacy, perfect for the occasion. Greeted by a basket of warm delicious bread with butter we were given the chance to delve deep into the menu as we decided which of the many delicious dishes we should order.
We ordered. The food was great. The wine was great. The service was great. The puddings were amazing.
Overall a great place.
Excellent, everyone loved the food
Would absolutely recommend. Took business colleagues from out of town and it was the best meal they had all week.
dinner at Aubaine
The restaurant is very attractive and the staff are lovely. We had the Winter 2 course top table deal. There is a good choice of main courses but a very limited choice of starters - 2 choices. I had the roquefort salad and my friend had the Jerusalem artichoke soup. They were both enjoyable. We both had the lamb main course - very tasty , but lots of fat. We had a glass of wine each. As is often the case, the mark up is more on the wine than the food. We enjoyed our meal and would go back to the restaurant.
Excellent French food, delicious options, good value
Aubaine 2 course set menu
Basically, it's the same mains as a la carte, but you get a free walnut/roauefort salad or soup with it, which works out as good value if you are happy with these things but it's not really a proper set menu with a variety of starters. The food was not bad value but I'm not sure full price would be justified.
Good food, nice venue, ok value
Second visit to restaurant and usual high standards maintained
I had a lovely lunch on Saturday there catching up with an old friend from out of town. The food was great - the bread basket was especially good. And we enjoyed a really fun lunch. Great atmosphere and attentive, efficient, friendly staff.
Good place for dinner
A very beautiful little restaurant, wish they had more vegetarian options though!
Well I had visited Aubaine before on date, for drinks but this was my first time for a proper dinner. The food was really quite good and the service was prompt and polite. Not outstanding but a very decent evening...
Good for everything Kensington
This is a busy but friendly restaurant serving food all day. It has a nice ambience and good food. Service is quick and attentive. Comparatively small menu but good range and quality. We have been twice for brunch and dinner and will return. Near tube and shops.
Food was delicious with some interesting options on the menu however the portions were a bit on the small side. On the whole a good experience and will be returning.
Lovely restaurant and was quiet so the service was great. Definately recommend it but not cheap!
Bright spacious French bistro
Bright spacious French bistro style restaurant. Give the location it is a bit pricey but ovelall an enjoyable experience & wew will visit again
I enjoyed the food very much and the service was very good too
I will go back for another dinner
Very busy for a Sunday lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday - in nice surroundings, with lots of posh families and yummy mummies. Food was excellent, service was great. Not cheap, but then, in this neck of the woods...
Great value - great food!
Really nice restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Two courses and a glass of wine for £19.50 - menu a little limited for the deal (two options per course) but the food was great.
My partner and I had pre movie lunch here, the atmosphere was lively yet intimate. It also happened to be my partner's birthday and we were treated to complimentary cake and ice-cream which was a lovely surprise. The service was fantastic throughout, I would definately recommend Aubaine.
The two courses for £12 is
The two courses for £12 is excellent value (delicious gazpacho followed by sea bream with peas, pearl onions and gem lettuce). Great atmosphere and very pretty restaurant.
Enjoyable set lunch at Aubaine
Tasty set lunch, chilled cucumber and mint soup followed by perfectly cooked sea bream. Great value at £12 (plus £4 for a glass of wine with Toptable). Friendly and helpful front of house. My daughter, whose birthday it was, only had one hour for lunch and they got the service just right, with time for us to have coffee too, with a birthday macaroon for her!
Atmosphere good, but if you like to eat in quiet this is not the place. Friendly team and quick service. We went for the set menu £12:00 outstanding value but not many choices. I would recommend this restaurant to all. In the heart of High Street Kensington ideal for shopping before you eat.
Fit for purpose
Quick meal on top table deal and very handy as I was staying at hilton Olympia. Limited choice on deal but good value well prepared food with friendly service
Great food for your money!!!
The set menu at £12 (starter & main course) was great value for your money and tasty too. However, the customer service couldn't have been better...the staff more smiley and fully of enthusiasm instead would make the dinning experience outstanding. Thanks to Nicole for sending the set menu over promptly!!
I was catching up with my childhood friend for dinner and it was perfect.
Although there was no vegetarian option for the main course in the set menu, the chef prepared a very delicious dish.
I would recommend the restaurant to include atleast a couple of options for their vegetarian customers.
Very friendly staff.
We booked the exceptional value pre-proms menu at 7.45 prior attending a late night prom. The menu choice was limited and French provincial economical style but delightfully tasty. Wine list was not so cheap and we felt paying an additional Pnds 4.50 each for a portion of side salad and french fries was disproportional in a two course menu for Pnds 12!!.
We had the most wonderful
We had the most wonderful meal The squid starter was amazing The staff made us feel special and welcome as soon as we arrived Charming staff ready to help and advise on the menu and wine list
For a restaurant in the heart of Kensington the experience was great we would highly recommend you to try for yourselves One observation we made was that the restaurant was extremely clean The friendly staff made the evening a great success
Thank you from two committed foodies
Great girly menu although the location is not ideal.
Charming Atmosphere on a Wednesday
We opted for the £12 for two courses from the set menu. Only two options for each course but they were very nice.
Lovely atmosphere and the service was very friendly. I was certainly recommend.
Fantastic value £12 lunch
I met my brother for lunch here on Weds. We went for the fixed price menu 2 courses for £12. How do they do it? Included a basket of breads and french butter. We both had the loin of pork with boudin, apple and calvados - highly recommended.
Great value 2 course for £12. Tasty flavour but the fish was overcooked. Chicken liver yummy. 3 words you wouldn't usually hear.
Tres Bon for Aubaine!
From the warm welcome to the friendly "au revoir" we received excellent service throughout our visit. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and both courses were perfectly cooked and delicious (chicken livers followed by pork). Great value too. Will definitely return.
Excellent restaurant for a business meeting over breakfast. Restuarant was very quiet.
post Home Improvement Show meal
Our waitress made our first visit a very enjoyable occasion. I had pre-booked - we arrived in day clothes for 7pm and felt suitably dressed by the end of the meal however we were under dressed as newly arrived customers were in smart evening wear. Service was prompt, not rushed. Meal offers do not include vegetables which come at a fairly hefty $4.50 each. Otherwise excellent all round, the toilets were well presented although not particularly accessible if you have mobility issues.
very good value on TT
good food great service and location great tt deal
£15 MENU - good food, good deal
Very good location, friendly staff and excellent food. If they would add the option of taking a pudding with the set menu, it would be perfect.
Great price for a nice part of pricey London.
A great place before 3pm in the weekends. Fantastic eggs and good prices. The dinner menu isn't that good. I tried the burger and it's the most boring meal I have ever tried.
Great little pre theatre eatery
We went to Aubaine before going on to Royal Albert Hall and it was ideal. Really good value 2 course set menu with glass of wine for £15. Good quality well cooked food and the wine was good also. The main course portion is small so if you are really hungry the set menu is not for you. Service excellent.
Aubaine High Street Kensington
The food and the atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent. The only element that lets it down is the slow service and indeed sometimes absent service! they totally forgot what we had ordered for drinks after the meal and my friend never got the mint tea she ordered even some wait! I would recommend going to the restaurant but not if you are in a rush or pushed for time!
Worth a visit
Wonderful value with toptable offer. Reasonably priced wines with good advice. Interesting sweet course.
I pop into this restaurant once or twice each time I visit london, either for lunch or dinner. It's always a good experience, casual yet chic. The food is always well presented and tasty.
We booked on the set menu which was outstanding value. It included a glass of Champagne which was Veuve not the awful cheap stuff which one would usually receive with a set menu.
The staff were very professional and accommodating with my food allergies.
Must admit I wasn't expecting a whole lot due to the price of the menu, but I was very impressed and will absolutely return.
Great all day eaterie
We have always loved coming to Aubaine during the day, but this was the first time we tried their dinner menu. The place works well in the evening, and the special offer made it amazing value (2 courses, champagne and wine for £19 pp). We had a baby with us but they found us a table with some space for the buggy, and the food (although limited choice on the offer) was very good. I always think that the service could be a bit better at this branch (Brompton Rd Aubaine service is outstanding) but overall a lovely evening meal.
Great food but small portions.
We had a meal - four adults and a toddler - on a Saturday night. It was busy & we were pleased to have the option of a meal deal or a la carte dining. Two adults went for the 2-courses for £19 which came with a small glass of bubbly on ordering and a small glass of wine with meal included. The food was delicious, although the portions were small. My husband went for a main course of Mussels and chips, the Mussels were apparently delicious but it was a very small portion and the fries were on a tea plate sized dish... once you take the shells of mussels you aren't left with much so what looks a lot on the plate isn't actually that much food... as a result hubby hit the local Tesco Express for a late night snack after the meal!
