Great service and good food
We had excellent service and the atmosphere was good. The appetizers were very good, as were the sides that went with our steaks. The steaks, however were just okay, not great and we were surprised given all else that worked well.
Had the pate, which had little flair and could have come with more crisp bread on the side, pork was spot on and the sticky toffee pudding to die for.Good price offer.
Nice atmosphere and great location for a team dinner. My dissappointment with my fish main course was immediately dealt with and removed from the bill. I'd go again but definitely order the steak.
The restaurant was very buzzy and the service was very good. We ate off the fixed price menu - the food was fine (the duck terrine was a bit tasteless/sloppy), but other than that the food was good. Would recommend.
Food was fantastic - service
Food was fantastic - service a bit slow. Had to wait about 10 mins before someone came to take our drinks order.
Decent but nothing special
Good steak as you'd expect but overpriced without a special offer.
Melt in your mouth steak
Great lunch meeting, very friendly, discrete staff, moderate but finely curated selection of ales and ciders.
Great steak at half price
Great dining experience with fabulous steaks and we took advantage of the 50% off main meal deal, although we made up for it in wine instead. Food was amazing and I could eat it all again if it didn't hurt my waistline and bank balance so much.
Good Steak with Excellent Service
Very tasty steak - Service was fantastic - we had a very friendly waitress and the rest of the staff were great. Food was great also - was a business dinner - I would return here with clients or even family.
£45 for two 3 course meals offer
+ a free cocktail.
Food was ok, definately not the best steak I have ever had but not the worst, medium rather than medium rare.
My girlfriend's pork belly was ok, had better at other restaurants nearby.
Overall amazing value for the money!
We booked through TopTable to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary, as it was so close to where I work in London. We'd not been before and the 'Marco Pierre White' in the name was a big attraction for us. From the minute you walk in, you're made to feel really special, without the waiting staff being 'in your face'.
The wine was delicious and the food very good. I did return the duck pate - it just wasn't to my taste at all, whilst my husband thoroughly enjoyed his. It was done without fuss and very soon I had it swapped with the gravadlax which was so delicious.
The rest of the meal was wonderful. I'd definitely go back to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you!
A lovely meal
Beautiful restaraunt,I requested a corner table when making the reservation and got one. Everything from the table cloth to the cutlery was immaculate. The service was friendly and outstanding as was the value for money. They have a few different special deals on; we chose the three course meal with a champagne cocktal which was £42.00 for two people, obviously you can end up paying for extras; side dishes and wine etc, but the food was outstanding and would have been more than enough on its own. By the end of our evening the restaraunt was full so I would advise booking well in advance. One of the best restaraunts and some of the finest cuisine i`ve had in a long time and we are looking forward to going back.
A Midweek Treat
Food was fantastic and plenty of it! The ambience was calming and there was no feeling of being rushed.
Will definitely be returning for another little treat, especially with their special offers!!
A splendid occasion
Loved the decor & the design.
The service provided by the waiter & waitress was very cheerful & helpful.
We found that a menu item- belly pork- was not available even though we were early diners.
The food was well presented & tasty but a bit slow to reach us.
Overall liked it & plan to return.
Great service as ever, the
Great service as ever, the only huge disappointment being it took until we were ordering to be told that the belly pork (one of three mains advertised) was not available, which left us hugely disappointed as we had been in the restaurant 30 mins at this time. But as I say, fabulous service and great value.
We went on the 2 for £45 inc. cocktail, great value, I had 10oz sirloin my wife had tuna steak both exstremely good, starters and puddings also very good. On a Wednesday at 7.30 the place was packed, not a spare table, but the service was both friendly and efficient.
Also if you're a beer drinker they have some very well kept real ales.
MPW @ Liverpool Street
Great location, restuarant was a good design, tables well set and no crowding.
Service was very good and added to the evening and the chat with the staff who were very helpful not pushy or above themselves.
Drinks, we stuck to beer, good selection and nice to be able to do so, wine list was good if some what pricy.
Food, very good simple stuff that we will come back for as there were a number of favourites that we had to miss.
All in all very enjoyable given that I was at the Oxo the next evening and that was rather different.
Excellent service. We were able to bring our booking forward by one hour with no problems. Tasty Bloody Mary. Enjoyed the tartare, my first! Beautifully seasoned. Steak cooked perfectly and the triple cooked chips were delicious. The desserts were possibly a step too far, we enjoyed them but couldn't finish.
Great location, would definitely consider a return visit. Thanks
Great but be prepared to wait
Really enjoyed the lunch and the staff were lovely but the restaurant was only 1/3 full and it took far too long before and after each course. I am not a fan of those restaurants that push each course on you and its cooked fresh but we waited 25mins for our order to be taken and then 30mins for the starter and then another 35mins after finishing for mains and finally another 20mins for the dessert. The lunch took over well over 2 hours which is just too long for the city.
restaurant located at top of Middlesex st.after petticoat lane area and on edge of the city with all the large financial blocks and new developments. Not very busy in the restaurant. Service v.good. Waiter recommended very good bottle of wine, not expensive. All the food we had was well presented and v.good quality. First time I have had a prawn cocktail where salad and dressing was as good as the prawns..The atmosphere suffered a bit as the room was so empty, it suited us. .
Could be more exciting
I choose to try out this restaurant with a 'special price meal' because I was looking to alternatives to other restaurants I go to on a regular basis. In general the food was good, but it did not have the wow factor I was hoping for, my partner and I felt the food was at a standard we could achieve by ourselves in our own kitchen. The food was worth the price we paid, but that did not give us any encouragement to pay for a meal there at it's normal rates.
Friday night at Marco Pierre Whites
A rainy Friday night that was quickly cheered up by a warm and friendly welcome to a restaurant we hadn't visited previously.
A bit of confusion over the menus (we were on a special deal), but the choice, though a bit limited was fine. My wife and I both went for the prawn salad starter - lots of finely shredded lettuce and four or five prawns - a bit less lettuce and a few more prawns would have made an improvement.
I had steak and my wife belly pork for the main and both were fine and enjoyable - Our waitress was great and enquired without being intrusive if things were OK.
We both enjoyed Eaton Mess for desert.
Overall we enjoyed a great evening - Bit of live 'background' music (piano), would have added an extra touch
Marco Pierre White Steak house
We went for the very good deal 2 3 course meals for £45 and it was amazing. The steak I had was cooked to perfection and my husbands tuna also cooked to perfection. The restaurant had a lovely ambience and the staff were very friendly.
Tasty food and brilliant service.
The staff in this restaurant are the reason we would return. They are charming and nothing is too much trouble. The food was delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was Tomas and he was so kind organising champagne and special cake when he learnt it was our anniversary . Top marks and very good value for money ie £45 for two for three courses. brilliant
Nice atmosphere and great food
Beautifully quaint restaurant with good food and great service.
To be honest I was feeling a little apprehensive before visiting the restaurant as my partner had read several negative reviews on tripadvisor, but I needn't have been as the entire experience was truly brilliant. The food was amazing as was the service and we were more than happy to pay the optional service charge that is put on the bill as we were waited on with politeness, attentiveness and smiles. I really can not find any fault with the whole evening and will definetely be going back again.
got the 50% mains offer. My 5th or 6th time here. Truly excellent!
The restaurant is well decorated
The restaurant is well decorated and well presented,
The food is very good but got room for improvement.
The service is good and friendly and the bar tender/waiter is well above average and should be recommand.
Excellent value for a superb lunch
We had the set menu and the choice and food was excellent. They were friendly and attentive whilst leaving us to enjoy our meal. Perfect.
Great food and value ... But....
We had a lovely time at MPW in Liverpool Street. We had the 3 course set menu great food great choices lovely service and lovely environment. But the price and quantity of the drinks are not so great. Cocktails are lovely but for the quantity given the price was extortionate! I had a lovely margarita. It came in lovely cocktail glass but only 1/3 full!! For £8-9 per glass I had expected it to be full. Then I thought to try another cocktail. This one came in a small tumbler full of ice and large wedges of lime. Lovely drinks but with that much ice and lime in it I only had a mouthful of the cocktail before there's none left but ice and lime!! Spoilt it for us :(
Had a Sunday roast 3 couse
Had a Sunday roast 3 couse meal for £20, plus £10 for a glass of wine. Would definately go again as both service & food was greal value for money...the wine prices however are rather steep.
This is a really restaurant with great food and very good service. Highly Recommended
A very warm welcome awaited us and we were given a lovely private table. Service was efficient and friendly without being over zealous! Chef cooked the wrong steak for my husband however all was quickly resolved by the waiting staff, the right steak was ordered and we were given complimentary starter and a glass of wine. The food was excellent, especially the steak, very tender. We enjoyed a long lazy lunch and will come back again!
A business lunch for three - two courses with wine for £180
The food and service could not be faulted but watch those extra charges for all the sides.
Best Toptable offer I've seen
I really enjoyed the meal here - the steak was absolutely beautiful, the service was great and we had a lovely bottle of Malbec. What makes it all even better is that we use the 50% off mains offer that we booked through top table which made a 14oz ribeye steak of this quality ridiculously good value at £15.50.
A minor negative is that they cancel your booking if they can't confirm it, which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't call you during work hours - I was called at work where I can't answer my phone and I was fortunate that I had a chance to leave the office and check my voicemail that day, otherwise my table would have been cancelled (the deadline they left was 4pm, so before I would normally have left work and been able to ring back)
BEST STEAK IN LONDON!
The most delicious steak- made exactly as you have asked for. The twice cooked chips are also recommended!
Not quite as expected
My guest made up for a rather empty lunchtime restaurant. I was very excited by the menu and the offers were enticing. Really enjoyed the crab starter. We decided to share the chateaubriand, which was good, but not outstanding as I expected a more tender steak with the grain of the meat in a different orientation. We enjoyed the sauce and,the triple fried chips were as wonderful as ever. For my palate, the panna cotta was rather sweet, my wife would have loved it! Wine only a little over expensive, but a good choice that we enjoyed.
An attractive, modern setting
An attractive, modern setting for a carnivore's delight – excellent meat superbly cooked. At the price, though, vegetables should be included. Good house wines. Service is well-judged.
Excellent venue in the City
Conveniently located near Liverpool Street, the steaks are excellent and it is an excellent venue for a client lunch. Not a cheap choice with side orders required with main courses at additional cost which pushes the price considerably. Some good bottled ales available which are too be recommended.
Great place. I went with 3 colleagues and we had a great meal. Would highly recommend.
The Chilean Merlot was a great wine at the price.
Only slight disappointment were the mushy peas with the fish and chips. They looked rather dull (a portion was too small anyway) and looked like they'd been waiting under the lights at the pass too long. But tasted ok.
Rice pudding dessert was lovely and would recommend.
What a shame
Well we had a fabulous evening but unfortunately the restaurant did not have lemonade to make a wine spritzer only 7 up and they then ran out :( it was such a shame as everything else was excellent.
A lovely steak
Good value and I would visit again and recommend it.
I use this restaurant quite often and it always delivers in terms of quality and service - highly recommended.
Very good stake, 50% on mains made it very reasonable
This was a really great venue for a business or private lunch as although it was quite full it did not seem busy or loud - I hardly noticed the people in the table next to me. Service was perfect, not neglectful or intrusive - perfect experience.
The place was buzzy with a
The place was buzzy with a good atmosphere upon arrival. Greated well, seated well. Food order was good drink was recommended and exceoptional. Food was very good overall the experience was good. Thank you.
Good food and reasonable value: we will go back for sure.
The food was great and the staff were attentive , friendly and helpful . The wine waiter was particularly good.We took the opportunity to have half price mains which took a welcome £62.00 off our bill.
From the outside it looked unprepossesing but inside it was warm and inviting . We had a late booking but we were never rushed or hurried, we left a little after 12pm after some of the staff had long gone. It was a great fun evening , pricey but as a real treat for foody people who enjoy the perfect steak it can't be beaten.
Girlie night out in London
Food was exceptional and made all the more special by excellent service, waiters were superb.
Best Steak Ever
In a restaurant owned by the original bad boy of cooking you're going to expect a good steak, but this was a truly exceptional experience.
The starters were stunning with attentive staff ensuring that I never went without a drink.
The mains being cooked to perfection and seasoned to a heavenly standard.
The desserts were ok, absolutely nothing wrong with them at all and in fact at any other restaurant id say they were supreme however their quality was overshadowed by the sheer quality of the hors d'oeuvres and the main entree.
Highly rating the onion rings and triple cooked chips.
With dues being paid to a particularly tasty béarnaise sauce.
