Our meal at Zaika was excellent.
Our meal at Zaika was excellent. The four of us shared mixed meat and veg starters. For mains the cjicken and lamb biriani 'pies' were tasty and full of meat. The duck dish was also full of flavour. Service was excellent.
Good food and service at Zaika
Good food and service at Zaika as always - very reliable
Dinner at Zaika
We had another great meal at Zaika on Saturday. I would highly recommend the tasting menu there, it's delicious! They are also wiling to do substitutions on it if you have any dietary restrictions or dislikes.
Zaika fab food fab service
Zaika is one of my top 3 favorite Indian restaurants in London. They use fresh British produce to create gorgeous healthy dishes (no heavy curry sauces here!) I brought some out of country guests this time and they said that they would love to come back to Zaika on their next trip to London.
From the get go the staff was kind and with that exact balance of formal service and making us feel right at home. The food was excellent and the wine recommendation perfect. We were apologetically asked to leave the table for the bar when we had finished our meal of pre-cocktails, main course and dessert, because they needed the table. The thing was that we had been late for our booking and still they made us fell like we had all the time in the world.
We ate here on a Sunday evening and it was very pleasant with good service. The interior space is interesting and the menu varied though expensive for what you get. Ideal for a business date as tables are well spaced.
Un resto indien
Le Zaika est un restaurant indien avec une nourriture super bonne et un service extra digne de 5 étoiles
il y a du personne qui parle français
Ils ont toujours s le sourie
Fabulous food, efficient service,
Fabulous food, efficient service, great ambience, great value. One of the best curries I've tasted. Great location too- v. Close to The Roal Albert Hall.
This was my first experience eating at a Gourmet Indian restaurant
It was simply stunning - the food was so tasty every mouthful was a feast. I would never believe simple nann bread could be so tasty. - Great Value - £32 included was a glass of well-chosen wine for each course petite foris and teas and coffees
The only thing that let it down slightly was the desserts they were a slight disappointment.
Zaika has new chef
After regularly visiting Zaika over the last 6 years we were really pleased to discover a new menu and new chef on friday night. The Zaika kebab starter which comprised chicken, lamb, hot-smoked salmon, and shrimp was gorgeous. I chose a lobster main with lobster 3 ways (tempura claw, steamed butter-drenched tail, and lobster roulade). Everything was delicious although just slightly, slightly not quite as good as before. I like that the new chef is bringing innovation and I'm sure in time the quality will be back up to the old standard. Service and ambiance as always superb.
Excellent service & food!
Highly recommend this restaurant! Everything from start to finish was amazing. Would definitely return.
Great food-with a difference!
We thoroughly enjoyed Zaika! Had a bit of hiccup with our drinks, but it was completely overcome by the courtesy of the staff, the delicious and interesting variety of foods, and a great ambience!!
We ate at Zaika this evening on a 50 pound per couple set menu. Six choices for entrees and six for main, about half vegetarian. Wine list was extensive, service was friendly and efficient. The vegetarian entrees were delicious (particularly the vegetable kebab). The mains looked pretty simple and tasted quite simple, lacking some flavor and color. Didn't try the desserts. Overall an enjoyable experience and we would return to try the al-la carte menu.
I enjoyed the meal. The chicken biryani is highly recommended. The best I have ever tasted!!
An incredible dining experience
From the moment I walked onto the premises I felt like I was going to be treated to a wonderful evening. I arrived before the rest of my party and was taken to the bar area to wait and it was well worth turning up before everyone else!
The food is simply incredible... the flavour combination is amazingly well executed. To experience the heat of a chilli dish and to taste flavours was a refreshing change to most Indian dishes... although a word to the curry fantatics... this is not your usual curry night out... no exhausting selection of ghee overloaded chicken tika masala or vindaloos... this is delicately created fine cuisine.
Yes pricey... but worth every penny
We were looking for a new Indian restaurant, a bit more expensive then our usual local curry house. I'd narrowed it down to a short list, this was the one which we chose.
Firstly, I must say that the restaurant itself was beautiful, ambience and seating were perfected, however, as we arrived a little later than planned we were nearly not accommodated as the kitchens close at 9:45 on a sunday, however, we were seated.
We shared the lamb, three way platter for starters, a lamb rogan josh and chicken dish for the main with pulao rice, garlic naan and stir fried veg to accompany. I must say, I have never, tasted a starter quite like this one, sublime in every sense of the word. The let down was the main, not much flavour and way too expensive
Best Indian Food I've Had
The setting was very clean and intimate. Waitstaff were very professional. The food was delicious and the portions were adequate to the point where you weren't hungry after finishing the meal. I would come here again.
Fabulous food a bit fast
Special meal, fabulous food... Felt slightly pressured to get on with it but did have a 7.00 booking so I suppose this was to be expected. Had the tasting menu with vino .... All fabulous especially the choice of the three different white wine.
Started with the best cocktails ever!
Haute Indian cuisine
The restaurant has Indian Interior Elements Perfect integrated in a historical Building with some modern Accents, a Perfect London Dinner atmosphere. The Food was excellent with a modern Interpretation of classical Indian dishes. We had a Great Dinner.
Weekend lunch at Zaika
Zaika of Kensington clearly maintains its excellent standards for both food and service. We had a weekend set lunch for two, which was very satisfying for a couple of moderate eaters but might need an extra dish for two hearty appetites. The food was outstanding, both for its taste and presentation. The complimentary artichoke appetiser was a gem of culinary imagination, the pea soup was a triumph of creativity under the fusion themes and the tempered dhal would lift the mood of even a cheerless diner. Masala tea is always a special treat at Zaika, as it bursts with genuine flavours and arrives in gentle company of homemade chocolate treasures, all of which beautifully presented. Service was excellent throughout and ambience truly relaxing.
Just as good after so many years
I came to Zaika first over 8 years ago with my wife and was most impressed. Returned again having been told it was not quite what it used to be and wasn't the least bit convinced. The food was exceptionally presentable, delicious and yet healthy and light. Unlike most restaurants of its kind the portions for the beautifully presented starters and main course were very reasonable. The deserts were lovely. The ambience was great although I missed the long velvety red curtains.
Altogether it lived up to my expectations and that of my guests who had never been. I would recommend Zaika highly and without reservation and would gladly return!
Nouvelle Cuisine - Indian Style
Dinner at Zaika on Friday evening was so delicious that my dinner guest returned to sample the menu again on Sunday! Highlights were the seafood platter (unsurpassed flavours), monkfish main (mine) and his lamb shank. Naan bread obligatory. This is a beautiful restaurant and the atmosphere was fun.
It was delicious. The service
It was delicious. The service was excellent. Great romantic restaurant
Housed in a great building,
Housed in a great building, good mix of Eastern and Western decor with atmospheric lighting. Cocktails with a twist all delicious. Each dish had a unique burst of flavour and blend of spices - recommend the Chicken Tikka Trio starter, melts in your mouth. All mains were thoroughly enjoyed around the table and the sides were the perfect accompaniment. Desserts good...skip the Masala Chai though, rather flavourless. Service excellent, highly recommend for a special dining experience.
A lovely restaurant on the
A lovely restaurant on the edge of Hyde Park. Very good Indian cuisine, a little pricey, but well worth a splurge.
We had a superb meal at this restaurant. The menu offered a number of dishes that are different from the 'standard' Indian menu that we had experienced elsewhere. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes explaining the spices used in them. They were all very friendly but unobstrusive. The food itself was class. It was all beautifully presented and the flavours were fantastic. The meal was not cheap but we did not mind the cost because everything was of such a high standard.
Good food yet again
Had dinner with four others at Zaika, with entrees and mains ordered from the al la carte menu. Was delicious throughout, and would definitely recommend!
Indian with a difference.
Not what I was expecting at all... I'm not usually an Indian food fan but this was completely different. I'll definately be returning here in the future. The food was excellent, and everything else about the place and evening was great.
I went last to this restaurant
I went last to this restaurant 12yrs ago and was highly impressed. The food and service were good still but we discovered the ownership and most importantly the chef, had changed a few months ago. We had lunch on a Tuesday and all was very quiet but that's probably par for the course. The food is Indian fine dining style. I found the wines suggested with each course excellent choices.
I would highly recommended this place, from when we arrived the service was top notch, they couldnt do enough, I highly recommend the.cocktails we had passion fruit and mango, amazing. The food was cooked and presented to high standards.and the taste was great
Fantastic food was had by
Fantastic food was had by all!!! We ate here on Friday 31st June 2013 before heading off to a concert at The Royal Albert Hall. What a treat it was.... we tasted dishes we had not tried before, experiencing flavours that were just devine, it was truly delicious....the service was timely and without fault.....and the ambience was perfect....We will certainly be looking up this restaurant again..
Zaika was very good
We had a Sunday lunch at Zaika and the food was eecellent. We regularly eat Indian food and we thought this was an enjoyable lunch. Recommended!
India well out of the ordinary
At Sunday lunch time in June Zaika was quiet with only 3-4 other tables occupied. The room is high, cool and elegant. Tables are well spaced and decoration nearly exotic. We selected the set lunch menu for £17 and the chef agreed to change the meat elements in my partner's meal for vegetarian alternatives. The food was well spiced with good balance and a much lighter touch than you high street curry house. Service was very good, but with the number of diners present not stretched. We enjoyed this very much and will go again.
Amazing, as always
I'm a regular at Zaika and as per usual, had a great night out!
Six-courses of delight
Zaika's six-course dinner with wine pairings is wonderful. Note, however, that they close it out earlier than the rest of the menu, presumably because dining on six courses takes so long.
Top quality Indian
Not necessarily as glamorous as some other better known Indian restaurants in London, but the room is well proportioned, table well set and the food delicious. Service was also attentive and efficient.
My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant for more than 5 years now. Each time we visit London, we try to eat at Zaika and each time we have had a great dining experience. For this particular meal, we elected to have the Tasting Menu, rather than order our old favourites. To say we enjoyed ourselves, would be an understatement but, to those who'd like to follow our example...make sure to ask for 10 minutes between courses. This menu is filling (and sumptuous).
Had Zaika recommended and it lived up to expectations. Little atmosphere as we ate very early. Attentive but not pushy service. Food very tasty and nicely presented. Quite limited ALC menu but should cover most tastes.
Good food, great place to talk
This restaurant is large (every table has lots of space) and the atmosphere is modern and muted (no loud music, no noise interference from one table to the other) so its a great place to talk.
The food is very good and there is a good (but not endless) variety of dishes. Service is excellent and one does not wait overly long. They have a very interesting, carefully prepared set of deserts.
Service was the best of all
I dined at Zaika many years ago once and although the food was good the atmosphere was too formal and the restaurant was near empty. This time we were so pleasantly surprised to find a busy, buzzing atmosphere full of happily dining customers. The food was again very good but the service was absolutely excellent. Our waiter was very nice and very attentive without intruding all the time. Everything arrived in good time and all the staff around were smiley and pleasant. We will definitely be back.
We visited for my husband's birthday and had the vegetarian tasting menu. Absolutely wonderful combinations of food and a very good price. We even gave our complements to the chef for her creativity of putting together each of the courses.
Top quality Indian food as always, though perhaps a tad overpriced. Very impressive service. At the end of the meal I tried a coffee-flavoured tequila with my espresso. I'd never come across anything like it before and it was a really excellent round-off to a meal packed with exotic flavours.
Not your traditional curry
Not your traditional curry but you can get close if you want it. Everything we had was great. Good spice but subtle flavors where it's important. Nice starters and sides as well as wine list.
Evening at Zaika
We had a really nice meal at Zaika... The food quality was very good
But I did find the menu a little limited. £25 for a Biriani
Was a little excessive as was the final bill. But it
Is Kensington and it is different
A class restaurant. Lovely food well presented with outstanding service. Expensive but on balance worth the cost.
The best indian meal ever!
This restaurant has very good service, and wonderful meals. We were there for a celebration, and we were all so pleased with our Food, it was so tasty.
I have lots of experience of this restaurants both professionally for clients and personally now too.
Must admit it's a great place to go, some really nice and interesting options on the menu, although I would suggest a little pricey for some things on the menu. I guess it's Kensington/London after all.
Wine list had a great choice, but again I would suggest it's trying too hard to offer the big names at big prices. Not exactly renowned for it's wine-matching in terms of cuisine styles, but there are any number of other wines at half these prices which would work so well with their foods. I guess it just goes to show that restaurants are about making money now more so than offering a great dining experience. Lovely setting and service.
