Good value and good food!
Good value and good food! Will recommend! Really enjoyed attentive service.
Booked Toptable set menu with unlimited drinks offer. A very hot day, the dark air-conditioned room in the Park Plaza was very welcome! Food was very good, particularly the roasted salmon. Attentive service meant our wine glasses were always topped up, without asking. Both white (chardonnay( and red (shiraz) very acceptable. Will return at these prices.
Excellent value and excellent staff
Went with my party of 4 others was promptly seated. Waiters were attentive but also wasn't hovering over us. The food was nice and the wine on offer as part of the deal was for me very good ( im no wine buff though) the selection on the food menu is good as i usually struggle to find anything I like on set menus.
Only criticism was the side dishes were a bit cold and I don't recall being given different wine glasses when I switched between red and white, but as I'm not a massive wine (or any alcohol) drinker this wasn't a major deal for me, a more refined wine drinker would probably have something to say about this.
We all plan to go again next month!
Good for a family meal out
We booked the top table deal and weren't disappointed - very good value, and superb food. Restaurant was a bit dark considering it was a beautiful evening outside, but that didn't really spoil the evening.
Great special offer
Went for the 3 courses and unlimited drinks. Food was excellent & although only a choice of Chardonnay or Shiraz in included wines both were excellent. Also had coffee included. Great atmosphere, a bit funky! Not rushed at all so we were in there for approx 4 hours. Highly recommend.
A hidden gem
This restaurant is in The Park Plaza Hotel, but dont let that put you off. We booked the 2 courses for £16.95 but ended going off menu as didn't really fancy anything on the set menu... That's no reflection on the choices, just that it was a hot day and wanted something light.
The food was great, staff friendly and attentive. Plus there's a lovely cocktail bar on the same floor of the hotel which is perfect for after dinner drinks. Would happily recommend. Would have stayed longer but we had a London eye night flight booked... Very handy for that!
great deal, great food
We went for the 32 pounds set menu with free wine. I was surprised by the outstanding quality of the service, waiters topping up our wine glasses when they were half empty! The meal was very nice, portion sizes just right. The duck leg was just like it should be (Im French so had many before that!). Loved the fresh bread and butter too, it made me feel like I was in France! The only negative point would be that the room we were sitted in was very dark, with no natural light; and yes it feels like eating at your hotel's restaurant, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Overall I would recommend it, and I will definitely go back.
The staff here were very attentive and the food was excellent, nicley presented and tasted delicious. The set menu had good options and was real value for money. Even the staff not in the restaurant were just as attentive taking my case as soon as I walked in. I would definitely come back here again,
Good meal - great service
A shame it was a bit noisy - did not expect to see so many young kids there on Saturday night but did not bother too much because staff was great - very welcoming and caring without being intrusive and food was very good too and surprisingly not as expensive as I thought it would being in a 4* hotel in London - i have eaten for more in other restaurant and not as well.
Recommend it for Sunday lunch for a especial occasion with the family if you want to try french food at affordable prices - 3 courses for about £35-45 per person depending on what you eat (excluding drinks)
My husband and I were celebrating our 14th anniversary and they came out with Happy 14th Anniversary decoration on our plates for desert - that was very nice of them :-)
This was my 2nd visit to Brasserie Joel with the TT deal of 3 courses and unlimited drinks for £32pp. And again, it was a pleasant evening of good food and lots of wine. However, the service was not as good as my first visit as we had to keep asking for our wine top-ups when the glasses were empty, and it wasn't a particularly busy sitting (Tues eve)
Would still return as it is a nice restaurant/hotel
The food was good value from the set menu and well presented with excellent friendly service. The sauvignon blanc by the glass was a bit pricey for what it was. We should have bought a bottle!
Excellent from start to finish
I've been to brasserie Joel a few times and never had a bad experience. The waiters are extremely friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic and the service is amazing! Highly recommended!
Very good first experience
Very good first experience at Joel's. Maitre de was very helpful and Christina our waitress was very attentive. Good eating experience
This was my first visit to Brasserie Joel, the staff were very efficient (not overwhelmingly so) and extremely friendly. The food was excellent especially the tuna tartare starter. I was also pleasantly surprised byhow reasonable it was.
I definitely go back again and would recommend Brasserie Joel to anyone.
Great n that
The service was very friendly and the food very nice.
The restaurant was lovely and perfect for friends catching up. The food was great and fantastic value too- especially with the 3 course/unlimited drinks offer!
It was a perfect lunch, the burger was average I think we should have chosen something from the full menu instead. Had a lovely french onion soup starter, lovely wine, fantastic attentive waitress very kind and charming. I had let the restaurant know it was my partners birthday and they brought him out a special dessert (cheesecake his favourite! ) and sung him happy birthday. Will definitely return again. thank you for amazing service
Very friendly service, good value 2 course menu, 'international hotel' ambience but lots of space and not noisy. A la carte menu looked quite staid, but great for refuelling rather than foodie dining.
Really good deal- £32 with unlimited drinks. Portion size could be bigger but food was tasty and plenty of options. Wine was good quality and always being topped up. Service was friendly and attentive.
Great Service, Great Food!!
We had a dinner there with Unlimited drink Deal.
Absolutely great value, Great choice of wine, Very generous selection of food, and Perfect service and ambience .
WIll definitely go back there again!! Well Recommended !!
Great food, top service
We got the 2 courses for £16.95 menu as a pre-show dinner. The best part of the experience was excellent and really attentive service, although we were given the full menu rather than the set menu so we had to ask for that. At the end of our meal, my mother cheekily asked for any chocolates and they gave us some macaroons and some chocolate brownie-type bites for free! So nice and we were really made up. The food was next - really good options, well presented and very tasty. It loses a star just because it wasn't totally amazing or hugely creative. The restaurant itself is really lovely and there's a great view of westminster from the top floor of the hotel so that's quite nice.
The restaurant is a gem good quality food and service and excellent value I wouldn't hesitate in going back !
Great evening out
We booked Brasserie Joel to celebrate with my son and husband. All the staff were really welcoming, our waiter was really attentive, helpful and friendly - nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The food was of an excellent quality and beautifully presented - we could not fault anything. The desserts in particular were gorgeous - we all had different choices and could not agree on who had made the best choice. Fantastic evening and we would certainly go there again and would highly recommend to people who appreciate beautiful food, stylishly presented and with lovely staff.
3 course unlimited wine offer
Great value for a 3 course meal which includes unlimited wine, however it's the high quality of the food which makes this an outstanding offer. the wine is also of a great quality too.
Surprisingly good food
We went for a show in Southbank and needed a quick dinner. As we were quite early (18.45) we were almost alone, but the food was delicious.
We were welcomed. Food really good, especially having plenty of bread for the hungry hunter that cannot wait to be served. Waiting people were excellent. Nothing too much trouble, keep those employees happy please. Good place to have a special treat, but far too expensive if you haven't managed to get a deal. Brill experience.
Good meals, quite good prices for London.
French cuisine with french people, which is apreciable.
Family get together
I hadn't seen my Cousin for 30 years and she was staying at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge road. I had organised a meal at Brasserie Joel having seen the restaurant on Masterchef some time ago. It entirely lived up to my expectations. The service, ambience and quality of food and drink was fantastic and made our evening a memorable experience and I would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Good food and service
We found the restaurant thru tripadvisor. We were attracted by the pics posted by other reviewers and on the restaurant website. We ordered the duck breast and scallop pasta, as good as in pics. For desserts, we had the MILLEFEUILLE. I enjoyed every bite of it. Service was excellent too.
Location is good but it took us a while to find it as we walked west bound from southwark, not realizing it's right at the south end of the Westminster bridge.
A wonderfull eating experince
anyone wanting a fantastic eating experince, you won't be diappointed with Brasserie Joel
free-ish flowing wine
We had the 3 course set menu which included drinks, for £32 this was good value (we enjoy a drink+I'd say we got our money's worth). Our starters+mains were delicious, we shared a blue cheese tart+charcuterie followed by beef onglet which was fantastic; sadly the puddings let the meal down. The service was great though, our waiter was really attentive+polite, and certainly for the majority of the time our glasses were topped up. This slowed towards the end of the meal but he was fine when we asked for more. I think because it's a hotel restaurant it lacks a bit of ambience, mainly as there weren't very many people there, but I'd certainly go back. Perhaps it's a bit random to say, but the butter they brought with the bread was amazing!
A very good meal
Well cooked, good service, good menu.
Would recommend for couples, small groups and business.
Nice price - limited choice
We booked as a group of 5 for the pre theatre menu at £16.95. The menu was very limited and so 4 of us were 'forced' to go for the a la carte menu. The average price for 2 courses was around £30. If you want a meal before catching the train home from Waterloo (as we did) then you could do worse than Joels Brasserie. The service was good, in pleasant surroundings - just don't expect to be excited by the choice on the set price menu!
Pity about the lack of other diners, as the place felt a bit empty!
If you have had bad experiences of hotel restaurants you are in for a treat. Brasserie Joel is a real find. The head chef's Michelin star background shows in every element of the menu - between the 4 of us we tried a range of dishes and each one was a delight. We chose the early evening offer (til 7 even on a Saturday) which is amazing value - under £20 for 3 courses or £17 for 2. Good selection of dishes and nothing at all budget about the quality of ingredients, presentation or complex and unusual combination of flavours. The wine list was good too. The staff were really great - they know their food and clearly want you to have a good time. We can't wait to try the Sunday lunch offer which looks too good to be true at £12.50.
My son chose this restaurant to announce his engagement to his father and I , the food was very good, the service was excellent. Highlights were the special of Suckling Pork Cheeks which was for two which was shared by my son and his father, both said it was excellent and very good value. I had the Scallops and my soon to be daughter in law had the Duck all beautifully prepared and did not disappoint when eaten.
Good choice of wines, the young ones had desserts my husband & I were too full.
Great location especially around staying around the London Eye.
We went to Brasserie Joel with 4 friends post theatre and found the staff very welcoming, attentive and friendly. Food was delicious and we would definitely go there again. Thank you
Top service and Delicious cuisines
Reserved our table at Brasserie Joel through top table website for a three course meals with unlimited drinks, it was our first time and we didn't expected it was busy on Weds night, it was a good location, delicious foods, good wines, our complement to the chef. The service was excellent.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for delicious foods and excellent service, not to mention great location.
Excellent food,atmosphere & Service
The restaurant looks really lovely and the atmosphere is nice and cozy. The staffs and services were great. They are well trained. The foods were incredibly tasty. We would highly recommend this place.
Was pleasantly surprised to
Was pleasantly surprised to find Gluten Free meals indicated on the menu. Service was attentive and knowledgable withouth being intrusive.
A happy birthday meal!
Great toptable deal for 3 courses and drinks included. A lovely gesture to recognise our friend's birthday when dessert was brought out. The quality of food was great and the restaurant has a warm, vibrant decor.
My experience at Brasserie Joel
I had a excellent dining experience. The food was delicious and the wine list was also very good. Service was also excellent. I would recommend the restaurant and I would come back there
Excellent service & food
Could not fault the food or service - great ribeye & camembert and attentive waiters. Only minor complaint is that you are squeezed in and other diners are in close proximity - maybe we just lucked out & got noisy neighbours each side!
We had a great time at the
We had a great time at the restaurant with outstanding service from our waiter in London last week. Can recommend this place. Very friendly and good food and wine.
We were a group of 4 friends away for the weekend staying at the park plaza
Westminster bridge so decided to eat in from the moment of our arrival in the restaurant we couldn't fault the service our waiter was outstanding they were very attentive without being intrusive giving us time to look at the menu the food arrived without fuss and in good time although they did allow time in between courses we come to London every year and have eaten in some of the top restaurants and we all agreed that this beats them all. Lovely food, brilliant service and a great price we all left feeling very contented we would definately recommend a visit to this restaurant .
Very pleasant meal, with attentive and friendly staff. Good wines to go with unlimited deal.
tasty timely friendly good price
loved the meal. 2 courses of beautifully cooked and stylishly presented Sea Bream on a creamy polenta and a chocolate nut brownie with lemon-grass ice cream dessert. Appetisers of tapenade on rosemary bread and lemon-bread with delicious Beurre d'Isigny made me quit the bounds of my diet.
For our pre-theatre deal the wine list seemed exoorbitantly priced (we drank tap water) - 1/2 litre carafe of white wine for some £24! Also the main dishes lacked anything green - we took a delicious side dish of green beans, perfectly cooked and interestingly garnished with chives. Decaffeinated espresso - we wished we hadn't bothered!
Service was good:- friendly, intelligent and largely attentive and well informed. Nobody sneered at our meagre order!
We went for the set sunday lunch and were not disappointed, service and food was very good, and the value was great.
Brilliant food and good complimentary nibbles before the meal. Also looked after our birthday girl very well with a complimentary dessert with happy birthday written on it and candles!
An excellent experience
We dined before the theatre and chose the £32.00 menu with as much as you can drink! Vried choice on menu, Tasty wines. The staff were very attentive and were constantly filling our glasses. Would certainly go again.
