I have eaten at Asia de Cuba
I have eaten at Asia de Cuba many times and it never fails to disappoint. Wonderful food, great atmosphere and impeccable service as always. Keep up the great work!
Perfect pre theatre
We arrived a little late but our waiter was perfect at promoting us to hurry up politely so we wouldn't miss our show
We were escorted to a wonderful table. The staff were friendly and knowledgable. Most if the food was superb although the brownies as part of the mixed deserts were very dry. All in all it was a very good meal.
Happy Asia de Cuba
Took my partner here for his birthday and our wedding anniversary, staff were super friendly, entertaining and accommodating. Food is amazing, we dined from the Tasting Menu, signatures of Calamari Salad, Wasabi Seared Tuna and Mexican Donuts featured. Suffered major foo coma thereafter.
We had an thoroughly enjoyable
We had an thoroughly enjoyable evening in Asia de Cuba. Food was amazing and waiting staff were very helpful with explaining the menu. Main courses of salmon and steak were amazing and calamari rings very tasty. Desserts were so good and worth leaving some room for. Overall a great venue for dinner not just for the food but the atmosphere too.
A special occasion
It was our wedding anniversary and we have never had Cuban food so we thought why not
We went for the 7 course tasting menu.. very good portions.. we don't like squid so they offered us an alternative which was a beautiful carpaccio salad .. no extra cost...big PLUS for you there
We were worried about a 15% service charge .. after all who charges 15% .. almost no one. But the service was excellent!
We left feeling full and satisfied and having experienced some really unique tastes.. we were disappointed with the deserts.. but otherwise an excellent meal
Our big group of gourmans
Our big group of gourmans (7 people) enjoyed the evening in Asia de Cuba. Delicious seviches, unusually cooked meat, friendly atmosphere and service - this attract us to come here again!
Great experience, even better food!
I took my mum for a her birthday as a pre-theatre treat. We had the pre-theatre two/three course set menu.
There was lots if choice and all the dishes we had were lovely. The portions are bigger than you usually find in London. I thought the wine was quite reasonably priced too.
The waiting staff were attentive right until the end when we struggled to get coffee and then the bill - but it wasn't an issue as we weren't in a rush.
I would go again.
Asian Latin American Fusion
What makes Asia de Cuba special are Philippe Starck's decor (throughout the St Martin's Hotel), lively ambience with people dressed up in casually elegant clothes ready to go to the theatre or to party; and the food is very tasty too.
Lovely Food and Great Service
My boyfriend and I visited Asia de Cuba on a Monday evening and enjoyed their pre-theatre menu with a tasty mojito. Our waitress, Serena, was fabulous - friendly, professional with very good recommendations. We had the crab croquettes and the calamari salad to start, both were delicious, great flavor in the croquettes & crispy calamari with a wonderfully dressing. My only criticism would be that 2 croqeuttes is on the small side! For main we had the BBQ chicken and the tuna. My boyfriend's main was outstanding, the sauce on that chicken was out of this world, my tuna was fantastically cooked but overpowered by the wasabi flavoured mash. For dessert we had the coconut invasion and chocolate brownie, both were excellent again! Would go back.
Excellent food and nice atmosphere
We had dinner there and were served very nice, our waitress explained all the dishes and why the fusion between asian and latin cuisine is so special. We really enjoyed the evening and strongly recommend the steak with the coffee beans as well as the crab cake - awesome stuff.
We dined at Asia de Cuba before
We dined at Asia de Cuba before going to the Duke of York Theatre and the maitre'd immediately offered us the less expensive pre-theatre menu without us even asking, which was impressive. Although hard to find (there is no signage nor is the number 45 visible on the glass building), once we got in, we were most impressed by the ambiance--loved the bookshelves and photos adorning the columns. The food could not have been better--calamari for a starter was main course size, and the seared tuna was perfection. The price wasn't too bad and it wasn't noisy; staff quite attentive. An excellent place that we will be glad to visit again.
After 5 years of going there it's still a great place and food always top quality.
Pre-theatre fusion food
Asia de Cuba is one of my favourite restaurant in London due to the design, and ambiance and last not least the tasty food. Some fusion dishes work better than others. The chicken and the beef worked for me, the seared tuna served on a wasabi mashed potato did not. Still a great place and service is friendly and efficient, too.
I have been at this venue countless times and i have yet got bored of their food. I was watching a play ( Jeeves & Wooster) just across the road so it was perfect place for dinner after. I had their signature Calamaris salad for my starter followed by cod for main and some coconut rice, my companion had Octopus and Seabass for main and we were both rather satisfied after. The service was superb and we were looked after nicely and wasn't invasive, I am already planning my next visit.
Can't wait to go back
Having read a couple of reviews of the pre-theatre menu, I was expecting small portions. The waiter also mentioned this before we ordered, but I have absolutely no qualms about the sizes! My partner and I both felt they were enough, and the food itself was very tasty - in particular for me the asian noodle box starter. We also managed to fit in the mexican doughnuts for dessert - absolutely beautiful! I want to mentioned our waiter as well, he was really friendly and helpful in recommending items from the menu, and we heard him telling the table next to us they should share a main as they are so large. Good to know as the prices are quite dear, but sharing would make it better value.
Good fun pre-theatre dinner
4 of us had the pre-theatre dinner. The manager looked after us well, and gave us free "mini cocktails", which were well received. The menu had a fairly wide choice, and while the food was high standard, the portions were a bit "tapas" - rather like Maze restaurant. On balance, I would recommend - it has a real "Buzz".
Tip: Go for the pre-theatre (£22) if possible. Last time we had the tasting menu (£65), which is just not worth 3 times the cost.
Totally originAl afternoon tea
Very unusual but totally delicious afternoon tea. Fantastic service.
Went before theatre for 2 course special. We had one starter, 2 mains and a dessert of set menu, which is limited to 4 options per course, yet everything we had was excellent. Atmosphere ok, but as was early that's to be expected and in some ways was great as service was exemplary and we could chat without getting drowned out.
Food is a fantastic fusion
Food is a fantastic fusion of Carribean and Asian flavours. The place is very buzzy. But service is a bit hit-and-run - could be more attentive and speedy
A wonderful surprise!
We had tickets for a play across the street and chose Asia de Cuba for convenience as well as its pre-theatre menu. The food was both imaginative and delicious: the beef in the main course was thin and tender enough to cut with a fork. Excellent variety of unusual wines by the glass. I would only ask for more external signage--the lobby is so understated that it's easy to miss.
I had a date here and opted for the Tasting Menu, for which they had an offer via Toptable. We were thrilled, the food was plentiful - it wasn't tiny dishes of 'sampler' dishes, it was the full-blown meals, of which we had two/three per course, to share between two of us.
My beau and I were both in raptures over the food, the staff were fantastic and it set the scene for a fantastic night.
Afternoon tea with a twist
Afternoon tea with a twist - great location, very quirky and great start to the weekend!
Extremely friendly and accommodatin
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff, who bought out a desert (on the house) for my mothers birthday, without us even having to ask!
Fab pre theatre
Such friendly service from all the staff. Not stuffy at all. Food was great, really interesting and portions unusually generous for a fixed price menu. Teenage daughters and husband also loved it. Would certainly go again.
Good quality, good service, reasonable price....what more can one ask for
We had a great evening at AdC, the service was exceptional and the menu had some interesting and wonderful combinations. We had a few pre-dinner cocktails in the bar before hand and one slight pain was we had to pay in the bar and in the restaurant as they couldn't transfer our tab between them.
The portions were plentiful and the waiter suggested 2 starters, 1 main and a couple of side dishes would be enough for two, and he was right!! We actually went for the tasting menu which was great and allowed us to try a good selection.
15% service charge is added to your bill, which for the service we received was fine, but 15% in the UK seems high, maybe we're moving towards American tipping
Great food and fantastic service
My partner and I ate at here on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is not sign-posted from the outside of the building. Inside is very contemporary and fun. We arrived early and so had a cocktail at the bar which has an incredible selection of interesting drinks. In the restaurant, we took our servers advice and had a starter each and shared a main which was the perfect amount. Everything tasted delicious. The restaurant was very busy (we had to give our table over after 2 hours which was plenty of time to have a relaxing dinner) so there was a great atmosphere. Despite the number of people in the restaurant our waitress was incredibly attentive and thoughtful.
Overall a brilliant restaurant and well worth a visit.
food is fantastic...just the
food is fantastic...just the female toilet is having a weird design
I took my wife for an afternoon
I took my wife for an afternoon tea surprise! The staff were brilliant with ordering flowers and making a lovely fuss us during our time there.
What was nice ..our server explained the concept of their afternoon tea and made suggestions as to what drinks complimented each meal and offered alternative dishes when we said we didn't eat pork.
The restaurant has a lovely ambiance - perfect for any occasion.
We are definitely going back....soon!!
Big Thanks to all the staff who looked after us.
Delicious pre-theatre meal
Delicious pre-theatre meal and excellent value for money with a choice of 3 dishes per course. Service very efficient so easily made our show and staff welcoming. Seating a little functional - hard wood chairs - so not so good for a linger! Décor same as 4 years ago - slightly weary now? But overall a lovely start to our evening!
girls night out
it was a very enjoyable evening, the staff is very friendly, service is attentive, the food is very good although the portions of some of the dishes are rather small compared to some others. i.e. the calamari salad as a starter was generous but the crab croquette was quite poor.
We remained a little longer than the 2 hours turnover but were never made feel rushed.
The restaurant offers great food, especially for speacial occassions, the service is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
We booked the pre-theatre
We booked the pre-theatre diner at Asia de Cuba. Food was delicious (the fusion between Asia and Cuban food really works) and served quickly. The vegetarian options were very tasty. Service was impeccable - very friendly staff.
Loved the food and the venue
We ate from the pre-theatre menu, although not a huge amount of choice the food was great and good value. The venue is really nice, relaxed and welcoming yet sophisticated and unique.
I'd like to go back and try the full menu, everything looked really good.
Try the separate rum bar while you're there too, although you might need to book. Amazing cocktails, ambient atmosphere and good service. Great start to a special night out.
Pre Theatre Dinner
We booked the pre theatre menu at £22 per head for 2 courses. The food options on this menu were very limited but the food was delicious, fresh and hot.
Service was probably too attentive and got a little annoying. We ordered a bottle of sparkling water to share - the waiter poured it in to the first 2 very large glasses and used the entire bottle and so we had to buy a second (expensive) bottle.
Wine was expensive and again - the waiters kept topping it up when we were not ready so we ended up with a second bottle as 2 people drank more quickly than the other 2.
The place was pretty empty when we arrived so no had atmosphere but filled up after 6pm.
Overall - a good place to eat but beware the hidden charges for service and 'admin'.
Lovely place and very tasty food
Lovely place, stuff was friendly. Food was delicious! Will go back again soon.
Pre theatre Dinner Choice
Really tasty menu, beautifully presented food and super efficient service. Perfect for a pre theatre bite.
Was there for pre-theatre
Was there for pre-theatre meal. Had the squid with salad, lots of salad could have been a main course. My friend had the crab. Both dishes were excellent. We both had the bbq chicken which came with rice in a banana leaf and some delicate vegetables and it was excellent also. The chicken was moist and the bbq flavours were just right and not overpowering.
Great good and service as always
This is one of our favourite restaurants. Every time we visit, the standard of service and food is fantastic - always very consistent. All of our friends we have taken to eat along with us have enjoyed the food and service too.
Asia de Cuba
I would recomend this venue to anyone visiting London. Great food and ambiance everytime.
One of our favourite places
We've been lucky to go to this fab restaurant a number of times and will keep returning.
had a good meal - portions are decent and quality of food is good. Service is very nice and attentive.
We recently attended Asia de Cuba for a birthday meal with friends and all I can say is what a FANTASTIC evening. From the beginning the staff were very friendly and hospitable. This is the 2nd time we've eaten here and it won't be the last. The staff helped us pick the best cocktails and even brought us out cocktails they thought suited out personalities. We tried quite a lot of things on the menu from starters to mains and desert and even the cocktails. The taster menu option was a great choice for a small group. We spent 3 hours eating and drinking and what fun we had. The menu isn't the cheapest but it sure is worth the extra. An outstanding resteraunt and can't wait to go back again.
Really, really impressed with Asia de Cuba. The service was amazing. Our waiter was really friendly and really helpful. When we ordered he told us that we probably ordered too much and so we dropped one of our options and he was absolutely right. We really appreciated his honesty as a proportion of our bill goes on tip so he really didn't need to tell us that. There was a lot of choice and you share starters and mains between tables so get the opportunity to try lots of different things from the menu; it was all delicious. We were pretty full by the end, so we shared one dessert between three, it was so big that was enough. The cocktails are also amazing and wine list decent and not over priced for the kind of restaurant it was.
Excellent food and atmosphere
Remembered that I was there before
People that work there VERY nice
Soggy veg but great blackened cod!
Our waiter was new, good was vey tasty but let down by soggy veg and no waiter coming to us to check if food was ok. Coffee to ages to come. Even though good was nice I would not rush back,
one of the best resteraunts I have been to in London
First visit to this place, really impressed with the staff welcome and service, menu was explained and recommendations were advised. A really enjoyable experience, the atmosphere was sophisticated and buzzing, more suited towards a younger crowd but I never felt out of place and I am 50! A very vibrant bar next door, alll in all I would definitely visit again, the bbq chicken is heavenly and the giant prawns out of this world. Also thumbs up for the cloakroom attendant and the doorman who stood outside in the cold trying to get us a cab. Table tip - I thought the meazzamine area better.
Great New Menu
This was my first time going for the new lunch (afternoon tea menu). I have to say that our waitress Sophia was outstanding. She talked us through the new concept and was great throughout.
The food was delicious and full of variety and flavour. If you haven't tried this menu yet - book in and give it a go!
