Atmosphere was good, the main
Atmosphere was good, the main dish was really good. Starters not so good.
Good food shame about the service
I met up with a friend at Boho Mexica. I had been before but she hadn't, and had been wanting to try it. We couldn't fault the food but the service was a little confused. We ordered a guacamole side dish and 3 times they tried to bring it as a starter, then bring the starter as a side dish!! Cocktails are good but quite pricey for what they are.....I suppose it's in line with that area of London. Would definitely recommend for the food, though.
Great atmosphere and great food
Loved the food. Not your typical, ott fatty and unnecessarily chilli Mexican food, but great tasting, classy food. The atmosphere is spot on with the right ambiance, music and decor. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Great value for money too.
Moreish cocktails, friendly staff and beautiful mexican food. Great date place.
An AMAZING Mexican near to
An AMAZING Mexican near to Shoreditch High Street Station. I recommend the Bluberry Mojitio's! Great Service and atmosphere, it's best to book as it gets very busy!
Try it all!
Excellent margaritas, try the house specialty, Carlota. Everything I've tried is very good, authentic taste. Good music in the background.
We ordered a selection of appetisers to share rather than a stater and main and each one was delicious. The Tostadas Tropicales were my favourite, prawns marinated in chilli. Amazing flavours yet fresh and surprisingly filling. The hibiscus juice is a must try.
A Nice Experience.
This is a very nice place to go. The food is excellent and a real taste of Mexico. It is good value for money and has a vast list of cocktails to choose from. Only point is it would have been helpful if the waiter explained the dishes more and gave some background on their origin. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go there again.
I booked a table at 9:15 on Saturday night for my girlfriends birthday, a group of 4 people in total.
The service we received on the evening was amazing - it truly made the evening a memorable occassion. It is the small touches which make Boho Mexica a 'must eat' location.
The maitre d' is first class, and sets the tone for the rest of the restaurant (a lovely Australian girl).
We will be back again and again - thank you so much.
This is authentic home made mexican food - not synthetic Tex Mex - and one step up from "street food". Ceviche was tangy and refreshing; beef and plantains with black beans a revelation: sharp yet sweet sunday -brunch comfort food. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely recommended and I will go back for sure.
Good authentic Mexican food
This is no fast food nor easy to fry in a pan meals; it's a fine dining Mexican restaurant with good cocktails and a fun, relaxed and fun chatty atmosphere. Great to go to with friends. I went with my girlfriend and maybe a more intimate part would've been better, still we did enjoy the crowd, nobody disturbs anybody...
Food was pretty good, felt like I've to go back to try some more options of their menu!
A very friendly place
It was a pleasant experience to try mexican food. Food was really tasty, and deserts were AMAZING!
Fabulous food, ambience and value
I love Boho Mexica. The restaurant is vibrantly decorated, the staff is super friendly and the food is authentically northern Mexican. I recommend it to all my out of town guests as it never disappoints.
This restaurant is a very
This restaurant is a very small place, so I would suggest making a booking! The cocktails are great, the food is delicious and the service is very attentive! All in all, a very good experience as I will go back again!!!
I love Boho Mexica
The place is very cosy, the food is excellent, the service is outstanding and they have very very good Margarita's selection. The place is a must!!! I love Boho Mexica!!!
Great food & good value
I absolutely loved this restaurant. The food is great and has a lot more than the 'generic' mexican cuisine you might expect (ie it goes far beyond just tacos and fajitas). For a restaurant that is practically in Central London the price was fantastic - 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks came to around £60. Boho Mexica has a great atmosphere and you can tell a lot of care and attention has gone into the decor. The only slight downer you should be aware of is that the restaurant is quite small so some of the tables are rather close together.
Boho Mexica, Spitalfields
Love Boho Mexica! Haven't been for a couple of years and whilst the prices have gone up a bit the food was just as good as I remember it to be and I will be making sure I return soon. As were the margaritas. Service was top notch, atmosphere exactly what you want on a Friday night - there is a 2 hour turn around on the tables though if you book early as we did. But there is a small bar to sit at if you want to continue hitting the tequila.
Authentic Mexican in London!
After living in Mexico City, I am delighted I have finally found a place that serves REAL Mexican food - even nopales (cactus!). Bohomexica has a very fun atmosphere, great cocktails and fantastic food....all at a reasonable price. Make sure to try the Nopalitos and Tacos al Pastor.
Valentine Day lunch at Boho Mexica
Went for lunch (very quiet) as knew dinner would be mayhem. Tia Patty's food selection and cooking is impeccable. This is very tasty authentic Mexican regional food. A far cry from chain Mexican or Tex-Mex. Enrique is a charming host. Recommend.
Great ambience and drinks.
Great ambience and drinks. Tasty food, but lacking the wow factor.
The food was amazing, the staff were friendly and welcoming and the cocktails were mind blowing.
Authentic and lovely
Really really enjoyed this restaurant. The food choices were excellent, different to what you would normally expect from a mexican place. I had the courgette flower empanadas to start which were delicious. Service was also good and the ambience was great. Small restaurant but lively and cosy. Will definately go again.
Good food but not great for veggies
My wife and I eat in a lot of Mexican restaurants. For me the menu was slightly different to the standard fair, in a good way, and seemed more authentically Mexican. I ate a spice pork with fried plantain for my main, which was very good. However, my wife is a veggie and unless she wanted mushroom there was little options for her, she ended up have a starter and sides and therefore didn't eat a great deal, quite unlike normal Mexican outings. She had a glass of wine and I had water and we shared guacamole to start, of course, and no dessert. The bill was £47.50 so this is not a cheep option.
If you want to try something different but routed in Mexican with a more cafe feel, for meat eaters it is a good option
Tasty and Authentic
Definitely need to book. Great relaxed atmosphere with a comprehensive cocktail list to enjoy while you wait for your table. Excellent food choices and not just your "standard" Mexican. Will return to try different dishes
Good food, nice ambience!
A little on the pricey side but the cocktails are worth it, and we could have got away with ordering less to bring the price down. It has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and really tasty food!
Excellent food and service
Excellent food and service as always - boho margheritas are a must too!
Good food, great ambience in the evenings, good service, all for very good value for Shoreditch.
Great music, awesome ambience and friendly staff. Overall, a very cool restaurant.
handy location & attentive service
surprisingly quiet for a Sunday afternoon which was nice. plenty options though heavy on the mushrooms in all the veggie dishes, some vegetarians don't like mushrooms! I would definitely recommend.
The Real Deal
I grew up in LA, in a Mexican neighbourhood. I grew used to having meals at the homes of my Mexican-American boyhood friends, where delicious, authentic, lovingly prepared food is cooked. Let me tell you, nothing typed as Tex-Mex comes remotely close to the great flavour and taste of this real Mexican cuisine. Even in LA it's hard to find a Mexican restaurant as excellent as Boho Mexicana. EVERYTHING I had from the menu was memorable. For delicious Mexican cooking, this is the real deal.
excellent restaurant, not
excellent restaurant, not what i expected at all! The interior design is great, a complete contrast from how the building looks from the outside. Wasn't a big fan of Mexican food previously but this place has changed my mind. Food was brilliant, fresh and portion side was good. Could have more vegetarian options and the place was quite crowded, but besides that we will definitely be going back.
We went to Boho Mexico on a Saturday evening it was nicely busy and we got a very friendly welcome. My companion is quite a fussy eater but we still had plenty to choose from. Food was good and service friendly and efficient, not haute cuisine by any means but would definitely recommend for reasonably cheap & cheerful place (for the area) with a convivial atmosphere.
Brilliant atmosphere and extremely
Brilliant atmosphere and extremely good Mexican food and cocktails!
Unassuming but charming
Boho Mexicana is the most unassuming looking restaurant that proved to be a treasure trove of well cooked, filling and excellently presented food. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for something a bit different in the Liverpool Street area.
Excellent Mexican Cuisine in London
My family & I had lunch at Boho Mexica and all of us enjoyed it very much. They have a quite nicely varied menu and, having lived in the US for many years, I was quite happy to discover that I can still have good Mexican food over here.
The portions are nicely sized so that dessert is an option - this is sometimes a challenge! By the way, the desserts are excellent, especially the flan and Las 2 Fridas.
The staff are friendly but we all thought that our waiter was either very new or very distracted as we had to work a bit to get his attention.
Such a nice place, casual friendly service and amazing food.
Great atmosphere, ok food
This is a lovely little place with an exciting, authentic menu. Drinks were excellent, service was very warm, quick and friendly, and an appetiser of guacamole was fresh and zingy, but the main courses didn't quite live up to the promise of the place. Both were a little starchy and boring - in particular, the tamale was an enormous slab of dough that was impossible to finish, and the plantain accompaniment didn't go especially well. Both needed to be lightened up with a bit of salad and other accoutrements to mix up the texture, Having said that, I would definitely go back, either just for drinks and smaller menu items or to give it another go on a different night, because the rest of the experience was so good.
Good food but noisy
The food and the service were very nice, but the place is small and tables are crammed in together, making it just too noisy. It's OK for young people going out but not if you want to enjoy your dining experience. In my case it was a downer.
Price wise, especially if you like your margaritas, prepare the wallet. because you are in a place where you think you'll be down £25 a pop, all in, and it will easily double that.
Been twice this month now,
Been twice this month now, that'll be it for a while, just wanted to try stuff I didn't eat first time. Very nice place, 3 very good courses. Best was a starter of fried plantain and chili shrimp and red cabbage or something, really good.
Great concept and food but service was so so slow. Whether a drink, water or desert - we had to chase for it relentlessly, we were never asked.
Margarita's all round
Perfect margaritas, great range, anything from your standard to pomegranate, cucumber, list goes on. Tacos were great size, 2-3 serves were enough for a one person. My dining companion had the enchiladas and enjoyed them. Atmosphere was great to start with traditional Mexican themed music, although took a twist at about 10pm when a mix of old 90's and 2000's hits started to come on. Lost a lot of the ambiance. Service was very attentive, always there when you needed them however maybe it was the loud music or a communication breakdown but a few items we ordered did not come through until specifically asking again. Luckily I checked the bill also as there was a discrepancy there too. Very enjoyable evening, will definitely be returning.
A real mexican
Delicious and authentic!
It's been long time I've been looking for the right quesadillas, crispy and full of cheese, and here they are perfect!
Also the fish cevice it is typical south American style and the marinated pork was tender and juicy.
Just the cocktails needs to be improved, but it definitely worth to try (and come back!)
Real authentic mexican food.
Real authentic mexican food. Fantastic atmosphere. Lovely decor. Good cocktails.
Late night cocktails and dinner
Great cocktails and food once again at Boho Mexica. Definitely will be returning soon.
Dinner and cocktails
Enjoyed an evening of cocktails and some very tasty Mexican food - would definitely return, great place for a relaxed fun meal.
Cocktails are standard London pricing, so not cheap, but were v. tasty.
Will be back
Great, tasty meal with friends at boho miexica again - will be back again soon no doubt
Taco starters great for sharing and the margaritas fantastic
The place is not very spacious
The place is not very spacious and it was very busy for a saturday night. There was hardly any room to take in a cocktail before seating. However despite the fear of loosing your table, the food was excellent!!! I really found it to be close to the authentic flavours of southern Mexico and the portion sizes for mains bigger then Wahaca or Lupita. The margaritas were quite smooth and really good even if you normally do not like tequila.
