Anglo-Iberian in Lancaster
1725 has an almost hidden entrance through which you squeeze through before finding yourself in a bar and waiting area. Immediately feels like a pub with a restaurant attached. The tables are crammed in and the atmosphere convivial. We order 3 tapas a person and a salad to share. The food is fresh, the flavours vibrant and rustic. The scallops were perfectly judged, bursting with flavour seared on the outside and succulent within. Also enjoyed the desserts. There were occasional lapses as the staff tried to get everything out before 9:30pm last orders but minor. A lovely lively restaurant in the middle of Lancaster with staff who aim to please.
Very good but under staffed
We really enjoyed our meal here but the staff were really stretched when we visited. We couldn't fault the service we received when available even though the staff were clearly busy. We waited about 30-40 to receive the desert menu after our main course. Had the meal and atmosphere not been so good we wouldn't have waited. An additional waiter/waitress and this would have been excellent all round.
Been to 1725 on many occasions
Been to 1725 on many occasions and it has never let me down, I think the price is slightly high, but the quality is there.
Superb food, friendly staff and good prices. The choices of food are superb as is the wine. I can recommend the White Rioja!
Only minor gripe is my waiter did not clear away my empty plates which leaves the table cluttered especially if you have starters as well as mains.
Good food but very expensive
I found the whole experience very good, the service was fast and staff happy to help. However it is very expensive for what you get, I've had much better tapas cheaper! Also the so called alioi is no more than garlic mayonnaise and yes I can taste the difference!!
it is great to have this spanish
it is great to have this spanish type of dining/food is outside of spain-
disappointed in the lack of spanish wines on offer-
otherwise full marks
Valentines Day - was a success!
I love the theme and atmosphere portrayed by this restaurant. Great Quality and great value for money, you don't get much better than this! Only critique I could come up with is that the waitress never asked if we wanted anything to drink, however service was fast and efficient...i'd thoroughly recommend 1725 to all.
Overall, we enjoyed our meal.......
Overall, we enjoyed our meal.......but the drinks service was a bit slow....we also asked if we could order bread with our meal and were told it would be 5 minutes because it was in the oven . The waitress then came back and told us they had no bread, so what happened to the bread in the oven ...?????
A saturday afternoon and fairly quiet.Good Tapas selection complimented by a good wine list. Service was good and not in your face. Food quality was of a high standard and not over priced making it good value for money. I'd definitely return.
Went on a Monday for the 2 for 1 offer, food was delicious and staff were extremely friendly. Was very quiet but still a nice atmosphere with the music being played. Decoration and architecture make the place a pleasure to dine in. Will definitely be coming again. Would come more often it was a little cheap, say £4 per dish. Or student discount? You would get the whole university coming! Us students have very little money...
Excellent choice of tapas
Excellent choice of tapas meat, veg and fish options. Good portion size for tapas to share
we have a great night and meal at Bar 1725 on Sat, just a shame we had to rush at the end to make a theatre show... and missed a dessert!
Great evening at 1725 with work colleagues, fantastic service and food, couldn't fault it.
A real birthday treat!
I booked this resturant for my friends and I for my birthday meal. I booked online and in the extra information box I aske for any form of table decoration, when I arrived at my table there was table confetti. Nice touch I thought. Everyone was lovely and the ambience was perfect for a good nite out with friends. One of the waiters helped to pick a beautiful rose wine, certainly didn't steer us wrong. We each orders 2 dishes each and then proceeded to dig into each others. That's what makes tapas so great you can try a bit of everything. The food was fabulous, very fresh ingredients and the food arrived at the table in perfect timing in between starters and the main tapas meal. I would definatley go back again, can't recommend it enough.
We visited 1725 for the first time after finding it on toptable as we did not know the area and where to eat. The Tapas was outstanding and washed down with a nice bottle of red! Its a lovelly restaurant in the middle of Lancaster.
If I am in the area again I would definatelly return, well done 1725.
Very good food and excellent
Very good food and excellent choices, had a lovely lunch with a friend. Wasn't rushed but service was good and food arrived quickly
I had a meeting with a colleague and needed a little privacy, I requested a specific table and this was honoured, even with one a few hours notice. The staff were very friendly and polite and the service was good, although only one of us ate, the food was lovely. Would definitely come back to try the different foods as the ambience was great for a romantic meal or with friends.
Great food & great atmosphere. The restaurant itself is in a prime location and the decor is lovely
