Does it what it says on the tin
that is provides top quality Sardinian food. Well done !
I had a great time
I went to Sardo with a friend for dinner. The food was a bit pricey but the quality was good. Lots of fish and pasta dishes. The desserts were not very exciting but still not bad.
An enjoyable dinner with colleagues
This is the third time I've eaten here and I will keep coming back.
Nice convenient location (10 mins walk from Euston Station.) Good ambience, excellent service and very good food.
The Carpaccio was a tasty cut, well presented with just the right amount of dressing. The Tuna was the best I've eaten in the UK this year. The deserts were a good balance of sweetness and acidity. The espressos equally good.
The staff are friendly and attentive -- but don't get in the way. They have a good balance of observation and service. They rank in my 'Best' category.
The overall value is very good.
Una bella cena
We went to Sardo to celebrate mywife's birthday with a sepcial meal and were not disappointed. The food was excellent (fish and lamb) and the service prompt, friendly and attentive. The restaurant was nice and quiet (even though it was a Saturday night) and there was no suggestion of rushing us out. A great 3 course meal -- it was expensive at over £100 but for a once a year occasion it was excellent.
Maitre d' kindly accepted
Maitre d' kindly accepted a late extra 5 diners to the booking for 4 on a busy Friday. Excellent service and food at not bad prices.
Authentic Sardinian Food in London
Our first sardinian dining experience outside of the amazing island. We weren't disappointed, all meals reminded us of our time on the magical island. Pasta and seafood are sure bets here.
Definitely worth trying.
The best food I have had for ages and I have been to lots of restaurnats lately and not been that impressed. Great evening!
A very pleasant eatery offering
A very pleasant eatery offering some slightly unusual dishes, very well prepared and tasty. The atmosphere and staff make Sardo feel like a small family run restaurant - no frills - just very good food and service. This place is a real find in an area like Euston with it's pubs and fast food.
Perfect Date Night
We went back to Sardo three years adter our first date there and we had such a great night. The food is impeccable, lots of choices, including specials, the wine and the service are great. A very lively place and intimate at the same time. Perfect for a date night.
Great honest food
Great food, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. We had a great evening out and the specials, including the ravioli with artichoke were exceptional. We will be back!
Lovely meal, with wonderful waiting staff - friendly, attentive, but not intrusive.
Great food, easy atmosphere
First timer but was treated like an old friend. Kristo and the staff were extremely kind and accommodating. The king prawn dish was amazing and the entire meal was top shelf. Lovely evening to eat street side. Went with family and a friend and can see myself returning for a business meal.
great food freindly service
chose restaurant based on location, but got much more!! really interesting food, (esp the dried red mullet pasta) easy and relaxed for a wonderful lunch, will go back if given the chance.
Sardo is a Sardinian restaurant and serves generous portions of delicious food from that Mediterranean island.
As always I ordered the bottargo - dried grey mullet roe grated on spaghetti. Unique and delicious. I ordered it as a first course but it was quite large and I could not finish my mail dish of liver, which was very good.
I have always eaten at lunch time before, which is very agreeable, but in the evening it was VERY noisy.
It isell situated for visiting University College Hospital
We went to the restaurant on Saturday night, and found the food and wine to be really excellent, everything was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and left us plenty of time to talk and take our time over dinner, we were not rushed at all, and spent three hours over two courses and coffee. It's not cheap, but it's very very good value indeed for the quality of food. You really do get what you pay for at Sardo.
We have been to Sardo several times and have never been disappointed by the food or drink, but on this occasion (a very hot Tuesday evening) the restaurant was very full with some very loud diners and the temperature was not well controlled. We hadn't realised that it was possible to sit outside so all the outside seating was taken up by the time we got there (7pm). In retrospect we should have booked an outside table! But how were we to know that the heatwave in London was to be at its height when we went for our meal (to celebrate a friend's special birthday)? Not the restaurant's fault, but the heat was pretty intense.
rather elegant /understated stylish
Exquisite. Great genuine portions of tuna and swordfish, beautifully cooked, unhurried ambience, kind of private and personal. Romulo, it's a great place, getting better yet. God bless!
Had a quick couple of courses spahetti with bottarga was like being back in Sardinia - an acquired superb taste. Swordfish was superb - no need for any sides. Could have stayed all afternoon. Service very good.
Good neighbourhood restaurant
Good food. Ordered 2 specials and enjoyed. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Very good experience overall
Took my team for a celebration dinner at the end of our financial year, sat outside and enjoyed the food, the service and the excellent house wine too. Not cheap but excellent quality and an interesting menu.
Excellent Sardinian food served by proper Italians. From the mixed Sardinian bread basket on arrival to the superb tuna and beef carpaccio starter to the excellent veal main, this restaurant is an authentic Italian experience. Highly recommended. Only negative is that he main courses are very large...but I'm sure most people think that's marvellous.
We have had dinner at Sardo before but this week chose to go there for lunch. The food was superb - stuffed calamari, fresh pasta stuffed with prawns and spinach, an excellent sea bream and strawberry ice cream in a soup of pureed fresh peach.Everything was very fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly and good. I would definitely love to go there again.
freindly staff, good food
convenient location and friendly atmosphere make all the difference. staff not like time constrained robots! they speak to you and move the meal at your pace!!! no rush, no bullying to leave, just good time and good food. Will be back (again!!!)
A great central location for a spot of alfresco lunch
Went with two friends on a Saturday night to this quiet and charming Sardinian. Had excellent home made sausage laced with fennel seed. My friends had delicious pasta. All in all excellent restaurant. Good value too.
I booked this for my birthday meal with some London friends - we were meant to 9 but the group last minute reduced to 5 - no problem for the restaurant. Gracious and hospitable from the start. An excellent menu with some many choices - we almost had to order one of each and then get to taste the options on forks being handed from one friend to another!
Wonderful wines and food from an island I really want to visit - and eating in this restaurant is the best tourist advert for the place I can think of. None of my friends had been before and they all took a business card home as they said they would be back.
One of my favourite restaurants - Sardo never disappoints. The food is unusual and delicious, especially all the fish and seafood options. On one occasion when my guest was a vegetarian who also can't eat cheese, the chef happily created an excellent off-menu vegetable dish for her. The service is perfect - attentiive not intrusive, friendly not overbearing. And the prices are remarkable for the quality of the food and the experience. I can't recommend it too highly.
reliable, delicious and freindly
third time back here and the reasons are staff are lovely (even when eating alone) and make you feel easy and relaxed. Food is great too, generous, simple and delicious.
Will be back again!
fantastic dishes, outstanding service.
The best Sardinian restaurant in London!
Delicious food, delightful staff
Have been here a couple of times (four years ago and just now)- really really fantastic food and very welcoming staff both times. We took our time over dinner, late guests showed up but everything was accommodated very nicely. Will be back.
We have been to Sardos numerous
We have been to Sardos numerous times and it never fails to delight us with the ambience and excellent food.
As ever, service was exemplary
As ever, service was exemplary - Calves Liver was not an option today unfortunately as they had run out of it! It was a blessing in disguise however because the Nodino di Vitello I had instead was succulent and tasty. This is such a great restaurant! I shall be back again and again
Excellent Sicilian cuisine
So often one is disappointed by Italian restaurants in London, but this has a truly authentic feel. It is very "buzzy", perhaps a little too noisy for serious business discussions. The waiters are very knowledgeable about their wines. One negative point: I really dislike the habit of restaurants of adding a service charge and then leaving a space for adding a gratuity, presumably working on the assumption that the diner is too drunk to notice.
We had a wonderful evening at Sardo! The food and service were excellent, can't wait to go back!
Service is good, food excellent. A little bit hot inside the restaurant but certainly worth coming back.
value for money
they use the seasonal foods for speciality of day and they are difinitely good for value. The volume of the foods are impressed.
Delicious food and great service.
Delicious food and great service. Was a little warm in the restaurant but this did not detract too much from a brilliant meal.
Sardo, authentic and modern Italian
Sardo offer authentic and well executed Italian and Sardinian cuisine. The menu contains come of the usual Italian classics but also plenty of more adventurous and tasty dishes from Sardinia. It's a modern, smart restaurant ideal for foodies, business lunches and couples. The lower ceiling at the back makes it a bit noisy back there - but it's reasonably private. The service is excellent - no monster pepper grinding! I had a great carpaccio of tuna, followed by calves liver. Very nicely cooked - pink as I had asked. My friend had a lovely risotto. Not cheap, but certainly not expensive and anyway you get what you pay for!
Italian with a difference
Sardo gives the best of Italian cooking with a Sardinian flavour which makes a pleasant change from the usual standard Italian menu.
Plus the staff are very friendly, helpful and totally professional.
Excellent attentive service
Excellent attentive service (offer of a digestif well received); food also excellent. Maybe because it was a Saturday, the restaurant was quite noisy; I found it difficult to hear a conversation across my table thanks to the loud party nearby. Acoustic baffling! But I'll go again.
One of our favourite restaurants when we visit London .
We had an excellent mid-week lunch. I have been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Very good service and a good wine list. I would definitely come back again and again.
We enjoyed our evening ar sardos. The food and the staff were first class. At first we were sat next to a loud group of diners. However at our request were moved without any fuss to another table.
Great food and Service
Italian food is usually good - the cooking at Sardo is great! Add to that excellent service with helpful and friendly Italian staff and a complimentary lemoncello and you have the venue for a wonderful evening. My only reservation is the noise - small restaurants can be a challenge from this perspective.
Lets go to Sardo's again
This was our first visit to Sardo's and we shall certainly go again. Its food was delicious with the menu including some regional specialities from Sardinia as did the wine list. The staff we friendly, knew their stuff . The ambience is unpretentious but attractive with just the right amount of light and bustle but not noisy. We shall certainly go again.
A lovely friendly place, we were made very welcome even thought we were 30 minutes late , lovely waitress and waiter, smashing bread and olives, very good pricing and excellent sea bass and pasta, tasty pudds and a nice little free limoncello to seal a smashing night in a buzzy comfortable restaurant .
sardinia in fitzrovia
Outstanding food at reasonable prices. Excellent service. Only downside is that some of the regulars become a little loud and wish to be the centre of attention. Best to ignore them.
I celebrated my birthday there this past week and had a very enjoyable experience. The ambience was simple and chic, food was very good and the service was very attentive. The owner came to my table after I had paid the bill, said Happy Birth Day and bought me a drink. Very Classy. I would recommend to anyone.
Great restaurant for a foodie.
Great restaurant for a foodie. Love the traditional Sardinian food and wine that's offered and adore the fabulous bread basket! Food is simple but every dish is beautifully cooked and presented.
Never let down
I have visited Sardo many times over the past five years and I have to say that the welcome, quality of food and service is never a let-down. The front of house staff are very friendly and respond appropriately to diners needs in a calm and meticulous way. This is matched by the quality of the food on offer and, having eaten there twice this week due to unusual business circumstances, I now know that the Specials Menu changes some of what is on offer each day!
Definite recommendation without hesitation for a relaxed yet sophisticated dining experience.
