Indigo/ a great colour
yes lovely setting compared to Axis downstairs good for people watching, food great wine list reasonable. We will go again.
An error corrected
I was treating my partners sister and sister in law to a pre theatre meal. We only had an hour but the staff said that would not be a problem and it was not as the service was excellent as was the food. Unlike some other reviewers we had no problem with noise on a Friday. One thing that impressed me was that one of my guests ordered gazpacho but was served a plate of carpaccio which, for reasons I don't understand, she accepted and tried before pointing out the mistake. I am happy to say a replacement was served without comment other than an apology for the error. My only slight gripe was that whereas 23.75 was excellent value for the 3 course set menu including a glass of prosecco being charged £10 for another glass seemed a bit excessive.
Weekend in London
We had a lovely evening at Indigo; food, service and surroundings were just what I had hoped for when I booked on-line. Finished our evening in the lobby with some fabulous Cosmopolitans and Mojitos - a perfect end to a perfect evening
Lovely brunch in Indigo with
Lovely brunch in Indigo with my sister, delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and good service. We opted for the 3 course brunch with unlimited prosecco - excellent value, and the staff were so hot on topping up the glasses. Would definitely go again.
Very good Sunday brunch
We took my elderly Mother and her friend for Sunday brunch and we all had a very enjoyable meal. The chicken was delicious - moist and tender, roast potatoes were crisp and there were plenty of vegetables. Service was attentive and friendly. We would definitely go back - perhaps to try the afternoon tea, which looked good.
Brunch and Unlimited prosecco
Me and 2 friends came for the brunch on a Sunday, the food was amazing and the waiters were brilliant, always topping up our glasses and making sure we was okay for everything. The restaurant was lovely, me and my friends will definitely be returning. It was also my birthday that day, we hadn't mentioned it to any of the staff so I am assuming they overhead us all talking about it as they brought out a pudding for me with a candle lit and also happy birthday written in chocolate on the plate which I thought was a lovely thing to do. The price was fantastic for what it was.
Another lovely meal at Indigo
Always a pleasure to eat here. Fantastic food and amazing service.
The food was excellent but was only surpassed by the staffs' welcome and attentiveness. The bar is beautiful and service was quick and helpful and without any prompting they informed the restaurant staff it was my niece's birthday treat and a cake on a plate with a candle and a happy birthday appeared at the end of our meal and made her feel very special. For a good meal and a lovely ambiance in a buzzy but comfortable place I would recommend Indigo every time.
Post theatre at Indigo
Everything from service, food and value was delightful! A beautiful space, will definintely go again and highly recommend!
The service was very attentive and I had a surprise birthday dessert on a plate with my name etc written in chocolate.
At the start, however, we were given 2 different menu cards, quickly corrected, but there were 3 items on the menu not available. However, an "Eton Mess" was offered for a dessert, and accepted.
We had a lovely evening, thank you.
Utterly delicious lunch. Simple choices done with real panache.
Thoroughly enjoyed our after-theatr
Thoroughly enjoyed our after-theatre supper at 5.30. We needed to eat early as all three of us were visiting London and had to train it back to the 'provinces'!
I had booked a pre theatre dinner as we were eating early and had a very enjoyable experience. The staff could not have been more helpful and the table on the balcony overlooking the bar was perfect. The food was also extremely good and not as expensive as I expected. We even stayed on after dinner visiting the bar for a signature cocktail which again did not disappoint,
We have a very nice experience at the Indigo restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff very accommodating. Curious to try their afternoon tea inspired by Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
Pre theatre set menu
We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the service and the food, given the excellent value TopTable deal we had booked. With 3 courses and prosecco for £24 we weren't expecting anything special, especially so early in the evening, but our cynicism was unjustified. The service was attentive but never intrusive, and the quality of the food on the pre-theatre menu was excellent. I would definitely go back.
Shame about the price of wine!
As a regular customer of Indigo I appreciate the good food and discreet service. On this visit I thought the prices of wine by the glass had risen and think £8.50 for the cheapest glass of white wine is over the top.
Found this restaurant on Toptable and liked the look of it although the menu wasn't as big as some other restaurants, also it was close to the Theatre we were going to. The service was good throughout and the food and wine were lovely. We had a table overlooking the bar below which was nice, the bar looked very good and if we'd had more time before the theatre we would have liked to have a drink there first. I would definitely recommend.
Excellent as ever
A lovely evening at Indigo - we let them know that we had theatre tickets for a performance at 7:15 and they were extremely obliging about that. Despite the pace, food and service was excellent
A very enjoyable lunch - attentive service and delicious food and wine
Indigo on the fringe of Covent Garden combines excellent cuisine in convivial, and classical surroundings, where the hustle and bustle of London gives way to peace and tranquility. The restaurant provides ample space around the tables, so whether you want an important confidential business lunch , or a more intimate meal for two, it ticks the right boxes. The menus are varied, and the food is excellently prepared. Service is second to none, and not in your face. The lobby area, beneath the Indigo restaurant is also excellent for meetings, being equally spacious around the sitting areas.
We had the 3 courses plus
We had the 3 courses plus prosecco for £23.75 a head after seeing the matinee of Top Hat. The staff were lovely there was an excellent ambience with comfortable seating. The food and wine were delicious. All in all a very enjoyable experience and I'd definitely recommend Indigo.
All around tremendous
Lovely found, attentive and friendly service and an excellent value
A good place to go if you wanted to enjoy dinner in a relatively quiet and classy environment. The service was excellent, the food was great too.
There is always an interesting variety of food on offer, with excellent service and a lively, yet relaxing environment.
Such an elegant setting on the balcony overlooking the bar at One Aldwych. Excellent for people watching. Interesting pre-theatre menu - hot mackerel fillet following by chicken with couscous and raita with a spike of hot Harissa. Impeccable service. Good find for a pre-theatre meal in the Covent Garden area.
I enjoyed this resturant , Party of four after theatre meal.
The service was very quick and you know the food a custom salads are very good. I had the steak which was done to perfection. One of the best meals in a long time. This restaurant has poor photographs on this site but the meal was fantastic . A well know celebrity chef should take a leaf out of this owners establishment.
As you travel upstairs you are seated in what can only be describe as luxury tanned VIP airport leather lounge seats. The contemporary surroundings and wide windows view the busy west end Theaters . an amazing view. The restaurant is small so book early to avoid disappointment. The ambiance was nice and quite and certainly worth going again.
Great food and ambience
Very good food and decor and ambience. Great value with the top table menu.
Good business lunch
Good food, convenient location and nice atmosphere made this a great choice for a business lunch.
Very nice restaurant in the heart of Theatre-land. Slightly less well known so easier to get a table. Acoustics are very good so easy to chat across the table. Feels quite private even though it's on a mezzanine. Food is interesting and quite adventurous. Very tasty combinations. Good service if perhaps a little slow at times, especially for dessert. Comfortable chairs and tasteful decor. Would definitely go there again.
Good special offer
We had the 3 courses and a glass of Prosecco for £24.75 offer. Our table was on a balcony overlooking the big, well-appointed hotel lobby below, and this gave the experience a nice airy feel. Each of the three courses was well cooked and presented, and staff were professional but friendly. There was a meat, fish and a vegetarian choice for each course, which we appreciated. Would recommend. We're going back for the candy floss afternoon tea!
Relaxed but sophisticated dining
I booked Indigo to take a business colleague for a "thank you" lunch. She is vegetarian, so my choice was partly driven by the fact that the menu appeared to have more than one vegetarian option on both starter and main courses. The setting is surprisingly intimate, given that the restaurant is on a mezzanine level overlooking the bar/cafe below. Service was prompt, friendly and no too intrusive. We both had a salad of heritage beetroots to begin (delicious and light). I then had the confit duck, which was cooked to perfection and wonderfully soft in a tasty jus. My guest chose the roasted onion tart, which was apparently equally delicious. All in all, a lovely meal in extremely pleasant surroundings. Definitely a place to come back to.
Free flowing prosecco
Much nicer lunch this time, the staff were polite and helpful and the food was good.
We thought the waiters were
We thought the waiters were extremely attentive, spotlessly clean and a nice ambience. Perfect for Pre-Theatre brunch.
Love this restaurant
We have eaten here several times pre-theatre and have enjoyed each occasion. The bar area is ideal for pre-meal drinks, being lively without being too noisy and serving a variety of mouth-watering cocktails with tasty nibbles. The restaurant is quieter but not excessively so. The pre-theatre menu is a bit limited on choice (three choices for each course) but still has some tempting options and very well prepared and presented. The service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. There are cheaper pre-theatre options but the atmosphere and food provided at Indigo is worth that little bit extra.
This is 100% in every way
We were given a super table overlooking the buzz of the bar below- a very attractive outlook. We chose the special 3 course menu with a free glass of prosecco. Three of us chose the beef carpaccio with artichokes and were very pleased. Two of us chose the risotto of butternut squash and this came with delicious toppings which added interest and crunch. The other two choices on the menu were were also rated very good. The sweets were delicious and the pannacotta with blackberries was excellent. The service was excellent too and we enjoyed the efficient friendly staff. A most enjoyable and happy start to our evening. With the Duchess theatre opposite we were easily able to complete our dinner starting just after 6pm and leaving at 7.25pm!.
Very good value
The place is really nice, friendly staff, very good food and at a reasonnable price, so perfect for a night out specially including a theatre. We're late but they kept our booking for more than 1/2 an hour which was appreciated!
Great pre-theatre venue and food
Great food, both a la carte and on the set menu. The restaurant has a good, sophisticated vibe. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is quiet enough to have a decent conversation, despite being on top of a cocktail bar. A fantastic place to meet before (or after) seeing a performance.
We had an excellent meal and service. Waiters went out of their way to acommodate our needs e.g. ginger tea, no dairy etc.
Widely spaced tsbles allow for private conversations.
dining with style
Indigo offers consistant fine dining with top class service in a vibrant atmosphere. A restaurant to visit on any occasion. I highly recommend the set menu. Top quality food at very reasonable prices. Especially good for pre or post theatre dining as you won't be disappointed with the quick service.
Really nice restaurant, pleasant and asked what time we needed to leave by for the theatre, so everything beautifully timed for a relaxed enjoyable meal perfectly executed in the time.
A great place to take a loved one for a special night out.
Found the food fantastic, staff friendly and polite. A bit of confusion with the offer but non the less it was still sorted out! Would come again
pre theatre dinner
I booked this as part of a Guardian deal including theatre and dinner. It was lovely except the cost of an extra glass of wine at 10 pounds a glass was ridiculous!
Lovely place with lovely food
Lovely place with lovely food and wine, really enjoyable evening!!
Great dining experience: exceptiona
Great dining experience: exceptional service, wine and food! Loved the main, but less keen on the desserts.
Looking for a relaxed brasserie/restaurant close to Waterloo/Charing Cross with lovely food, good ambiance and great service? Indigo, ticks all the boxes. Would definitely recommend Indigo if you're meeting a couple of friends after work, pre theatre dinner or business lunch. Although it overlooks the bar, which actually makes it an interesting space, it's not noisy.
There but not quite
The two of us had a drink at the bar, followed by two course meal with bottle of plonk, followed by another drink at the bar: £180. Ok, £90 each for plush place but maybe, just maybe a bit high. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful - quite chatty but for nearly two hundred quid - something else needed...
Went after seeing show, very near to all theatres, arrived early but not a problem to the staff. A very pleasant experience, staff were extremely good. No faults at all.
I like the atmosphere in this restaurant and is ideal for business discussions!
The terrine was excellent home made and very tasty, whilst the calf's liver was cooked to perfection
I chose a salad for my one-course
I chose a salad for my one-course lunch. There was very little seared tuna, but far too much lettuce. It was disappointing. I am always annoyed by waiting staff who come and ask if everything is alright with the meal in the middle of a conversation - it's downright rude.
Everything else was really good - service, bread, food and drink etc.
