My husband and I chose Gaucho for a lunch reunion with our nephew. It was perfect! The food and wine (a nice Malbec) were fantastic from beginning to end. Our server was phenomenal. We had not seen our nephew in years and wanted to linger and they were very accomodating, even bringing us 3 glasses of champagne after we had paid the bill! Highly recommended - best meal we have had in London.
A great celebration
The food, service and ambience was great. My family and I chose to dine at Gauchos to celebrate my sister's graduation as we thought it would be the perfect place and it did not disappoint. As the graduation ceremony finished early, we arrived at Gauchos two hours before our booking and the staff were so accommodating and we were seated immediately. The calamari special starter was sublime and all of our mains were delicious. The only downside was that we did not have enough room for dessert! So thank you Gauchos for a wonderful evening.
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!
We went to Gaucho for a Saturday night dinner. The food was amazing, steak cooked to perfection! One thing I would say is that they have daily specials but when reading these out to you do not tell you the price. We were hit with a few daily specials on our bill that we would not have purchased had we known.
For the cost of the meal &
For the cost of the meal & the quality of the meat I would have expected the service to have been considerably better. We were disappointed at the slow response of the waiting staff. There were a lot of waiting staff milling around but we sat a long time before our orders were taken & drinks took a long time to arrive on such a hot evening. Tables were so close together I was constantly having waiting staff pushing past my chair which slightly spoilt the relaxing setting overlooking the Thames on a warm summers evening.
Excellent quality, will be back.
For our first time we had high expectations and weren't disappointed. Staff were non pretentious, friendly and happy to make suggestions / adjust to our needs. Even though it is expensive what you get in quality nearly makes up for the price tag. Would recommend for special / corporate card occasions.
Meat was very good as one
Meat was very good as one would expect.
Salads had too much salt; we even had to return one.
Wine was very good.
Side dishes were very disappointing. For a restaurant in this price bracket, the side dishes must also delight.
Probably the best steaks in
Probably the best steaks in London and certainly for the price, very helpful and attentive service without being overbearing, and all with a great view over the Thames.
Top Steaks in London
Food/Service: I am very picky about my steak having grown up in around cattle ranchers in the States. But the steaks at Gaucho are some of my favorites. Thes steaks have the perfect buttery texture that seems to be lacking from British beef. The service is similarly amazing. They are very attentive and accomodating (we had a problem with one of the dishes and they wisked it away and brought her a new one that was cooked to our satisfaction).
Ambiance: The terrace overlooking the Thames is great for a sunny day out with friends. For a romantic date, the interior has a sleek sexy feel with lots of leather on the walls. It is also fun to pick out your meat from the tray they bring around.
Delightful dining experience.
We decided to meet with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On a sunny day, it is as close to being in Continental Europe as you could find on this side of the Channel; a perfect location.
The steak, as always is divine. Perfectly cooked, as is all the food. If you enjoy steak, then this restaurant is a must.
The staff, have a perfect balance of knowing, almost instinctively what is required, but not rushing the customers. Having had a post dinner a bottle of Champagne. We were delighted when one of the staff, having enquired as to our celebration brought us a glass of delicious sparkling desert wine each. A very thoughtful touch; and one we were all very impressed with. Thank you Gaucho for making a good evening even better.
I have visited Gaucho on a few occasions and the food is consistently good. However the service, especially from the host team at Canary Wharf, is really outstanding. Have to try to think up more 'special occasions' to visit again!
Went to the restaurant to
Went to the restaurant to celebrate my wedding anniversary and we were extremely happy with the whole experience. The starters were incredible and the wine was a great recommendation from the waiter. Disappointingly, our steak was not great. We both opted for the rump cut which was extremely chewy and without steak knives being provided, led to quite a battle! I suspect we were just unlucky with the cut of meat as the taste was great. Would definitely return here...
It's all about the steak!
Not a restaurant for vegetarians this small chain of restaurants offers a wide choice of steaks.
The service was attentive, the food superb & it arrived quickly too.
It's not a budget option but its worth paying extra for quality.
I went to canary wharf where had it been a little warmer I would have sat outside with a river view but instead had a quiet table inside to celebrate a birthday.
Thank you Goucho for a memorable evening.
Amazing food and service
The food and service were both amazing. I was happy to get a bill with no service charge automatically added, which made me want to leave a bigger tip. It does get a bit noisy after 8pm
For meat lovers
I love going to Gaucho every time that I fancy a good piece of meat and a bit of southamerican flavour.. Love the empanaditas, pan de queso.. Food is lovely in there.... Always a good choice. Love the house wine. 100% recommended it
Excellent food and service
Thursday dinner, eating at a table outside. Gaucho is known for large portions so we went straight for mains. While we were waiting we were given a little basket of breads with an unusually good flatbread, not too dry or oily, and little rolls with chimichurri dip. My fillet steak was cooked perfectly - this is a restaurant that understands rare - and the mushroom sauce was deep and rich with beef and mushroom. Hubby's sirloin was cooked to his liking and was succulent and flavourful. We had spinach (good), sweet potato chips (yummy) and humitas, a very, very moreish concoction of sweetcorn and mozzarella served in a corn husk. Service was very professional and warm. Prices are a little on the high side but not outrageously so.
Gaucho's was very nice and the food was really good, although it lacked in service as it seemed like one person was waiting on 10 different tables but they had more than enough staff to cover all tables just standing around. ( as you could imagine this became annoying when waiting for service let alone paying the bill)
Overall Gaucho's is great for food but don't expect the service to be as quick or as great.
Our family enjoys eating at
Our family enjoys eating at Goucho when the weather is nice and we can sit outside. It is a bit dark and noisy in the restaurant, but sitting under the trees on a lovely London evening is great!!!!!!!!!!! Good food and wine, a bit too expensive, but a nice treat when you want steak!
Our experience of Gaucho was pleasant and relaxed evening.
As it was our anniversary we were given a complementary glass of champagne. For starters we had the squid rings, which were delightful. The main was a meat eater paradise with me having the rib eye steak and my other half the fillet. The meat was cooked to our specification alongside a side of fries and sweet potato chips. The desert was a nice comedown from the juicy meat as we shared an assortment of ice cream and sorbet. Overall it was an excellent dining experience but we did feel the food was on the pricey side.
Superb Service & Food
Gaucho Canary was a first-rate , excellent food, service, an interesting menu and overall thorough attention to detail all contributed to a stand-out experience - would definitely recommend this to others looking for special lunch options at Canary Wharf.
Also a good choice for those wanting some al-fresco dining with views of the river Thames.
Great location with great meal
Gauchos Canary Wharf is nicely located next to Canary Wharf Pier with spectacular views. If you love a good steak and a meat dish this is clearly a good place to go.
Celebrated wedding anniversary
Celebrated wedding anniversary with friends and we had a perfect evening :o)
The staff made us feel very special.
We haven't been to Gaucho for a year or so as the service and food was going downhill. As Gaucho is on our doorstep we have managed to go and had a fantastic time. The service was absolutely amazing, food was great. Will definitely go again.
Outstanding evening! Warm welcome, great food and very attentive service.
I found the place on Internet. It has good reviews. We had a great business lunch and our guests were impressed. We loved the ambiance and the wine selection. Great service too!
MY 50TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Attentive service, fantastic ceviche, meat and wine. We all had immense fun.
Gaucho 14th September
Very nice meal ,Best steak around . Only thing I didn't Like was how close the couples tables were

The best Gaucho we have visited-great service, gorgeous food & fabulous views!
We highly recommend if you are attending an event or concert at the O2, to go to this Gaucho for supper then enjoy a short riverboat trip up the Thames, arriving at the venue in style. You catch the boat just outside the restaurant-no standing in the cold!
Great food and service
My wife and I found the service and food excellent. We would recommend this highly.
Fantastic Food, Super Service
Took my mum to Gaucho for a birthday treat which went down very well! The food was excellent as always and the service impeccable. The customer service excellent and they went out of their way to make the occasion special. Roll on next year!
A good standard quality steak
A good standard quality steak house. If you like steak, this is the place. The 300g fillet is plenty big for most. The side dishes are only average except the Humitas are very nice. Good in the top 30% but not great in the top 10%. There are other much better restaurants out there, easily, for the same money. Tables very crowded together and very noisy environment.
Great for special occasions
You certainly always feel like its a special occasion in Goucho... The formally dressed waiting staff, dim lighting, background music. The service was great and the steak was very good. I just can't help feel The Hawksmoor outshines it these days for the same price the food is better and it all feels just that bit more relaxed.
Looked after us for our anniversary
Lovely service from Marco
And a beautiful table window with 2 free glasses bubbly.
Thanks so much
Still My Favourite Restaurant in th
It's been a few years since I last made it to my favourite restaurant. Took my love girlfriend there on 12th Oct for dinner. She was blown away and so was I yet again.
Still my favourite restaurant in the UK.
Excellent service, great quality steak & wine. They arranged a quiet table so we could talk business. much appreciated.
We went to Gaucho for our anniversary. Very welcoming staff and top notch food cooked to perfection. The music, atmosphere, decor all superb made for a great evening. Prices are high but ok for a special occasion but you wouldn't want too many drinks there... One cocktail and one glass of red was £23.
Had a wonderful evening, great atmosphere and amazing cocktails!
Great Food in Gaucho
The steak was terrific - tender and just what I asked for and a great wine list.
Ambience is great in Gaucho - very buzzy.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
What a great start!!
Had a fantastic early dinner at Gaucho Canary Wharf before going off to the O2 for a show. The food and service were exemplary. An unexpected surprise were the complimentary tickets for the river clipper which picked up just outside the restaurant and dropped us off right outside the O2 after an exhilarating journey on the Thames. Will definately be dining there again.
great food, sometmes struggled
great food, sometmes struggled for waiter's attention and quite expensive. Good overall experience though
another great meal
regularly eat at Gaucho's, our latest visit lived up to expectation, good food wine and company!
Great food ,staff attentive, bigger starter portions please, will be back!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent food and staff.
Excellent food and staff. Really good atmosphere and would definitely go again.
Gaucho Canary Riverside
The steak was amazing, perfectly cooked and of a good quality. Would recommend.
Stayin' alive at 55
Amazing restaurant on the Thames. Very nice decor, attentive service, and scrumptous beef.
Gaucho didnt disappoint, as usual!
Great steak, even better service, the only things that could have improved our meal would have not ordering the Quinoa side dish as it was a bit bland, and if there was a little more space between the tables... But I really am not-picking as we had a lovely time, felt spoilt by the staff as alway at Gauch's and enjoyed the AMAZING steak. Would definitely recommend, great for a date! Will go again for sure.
Everything we expected could
Everything we expected could not fault a very knowledgeable waiter.all the cuts of steak were cooked perfect we were in london for the england v new zealand rugby league game. The only thing I suppose. it was a bit of an expensive evening with the tab coming to £280 for 4 of us.
Fantastic service of the manager, really spent the time to ensure that we had the right wine for the meal that was very much appreciated
Often feel the other gauchos are more conveyor belt for the prices they charge but this place kept the personalised service
Hard to find but excellent food
Don't trust google maps to tell you where gaucho (canary wharf) is. Google is off by a kilometer, and with the roadworks being done in the docklands now that becomes a VERY long kilometer to walk. The food made it worth it though. Excellent steaks and a decent wine list. Just make sure to navigate by address or use the instructions from gauchos own webpage to find the place.
The best steak ever!
I've never had a better steak anywhere and I doubt a place exists that serves up a better steak. It literally melts in the mouth. But the food aside (which can always be guaranteed at Gauchos) the one at Canary Wharf is my favourite. Many Gaucho restaurants can be a little too dark at night to the extent that you see some people having difficulty reading the menu. However, at Gaucho Canary they seem to have got the balance with ambience just about right. Service was fantastic and the whole experience was most enjoyable. Highly recommended.
