This is an interesting restaurant with a busy bar. The decor is quirky an old style elaborate pub with a mixture of Art Deco and antique , there are bird cages, chandeliers sculptures. The bar hums and there is often music there, there is a mock library to sit and have pre prandial drinks. The waitresses are friendly and charming and the food I had wholesome. A paradise in a rather dodgy are!
This is the second time I've dined at Paradise, each time it's been delicious and the staff have been lovely, just the right amount of attention. Highly recommend.
Pricey but decent food.
This is the second time I have been here. It is a lovely gastro pub with a great atmosphere. I would go again. My only criticism is that without the offer it is very pricey and for the money you could head to a Michelin starred place instead. Saying that, the food is good, as is the service and the 50% offer makes it worth it.
With the 50% off the food this is a steal. Food was excellent with a good menu choice. We took some friends and they loved it too. Service is friendly and good. Definitely return.
Just one minor drawback
Good food, lovely ambience.
Only drawback, I had to ask for my change (paid in cash) despite having paid the service charge, either staff were too busy or figured I'd leave the change, found that a tad eurgh.
What a wonderful welcome and lovely decor. The delicous food, the oysters were so fresh. With the 50% off food deal is was very resonable.
Brilliant food as usual at
Brilliant food as usual at Paradise and great value with the tt offer
great evening, great value
we had a great time - really good food, slightly limited veggie options, although we all found something on the menu, lovely ambience and great service. Especially good value with the 50% offer
always enjoy being there
staff always lovely - food ok - can be patchy but on whole good
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service. Extremely good value with the toptable deal. Highly recommended.
Excellent night out
Went out for dinner and dance at the Paradise after hearing good comments and reading the reviews. We were not disappointed! Great ambience, fab waitress, and very good food though the best were the cocktails! we had few of their own creation which gone very nicely with the food. Our only negative comment will be the level of noise in the dining room, which mean that a conversation even at a small table of 4 is almost impossible. The option to go up to dance the food away is a huge plus.
Great Sunday lunch...with prompting
Paradise on a sunday is a local favourite ... Wonderful surroundings, the promise of a decent lunch and friendly relaxed staff.a very different proposition to an evening where you can hardly move for the fake fur and quirky vintage of the Kensal Rise lovelies eyeing each other to check whether they are cool enough for a mint julip or not.
The only downside to Paradise is that despite a wealth it seems of lovely staff... It is bereft if an organising maitre d' and therefore being served is a lottery. Yes they took a cheese board off the bill without being asked to compensate for the long wait.... We'd have just preferred to be looked after as well as London's bright and beautiful were.
Enjoyed a lovely meal at The Paradise - booked the 50% offer but they were discrete about it and didnt compromise on service. Really attentive, lovely staff. Wine was gorgeous and food amazing too. Really recommend the pork and seabass!
Often go here for sunday lunch, always a great experience, service can be a little hit and miss but always friendly. Roast beef or lamb is always good and wine choice great. Would recommend.
More than met expectations
Its about a year since I last ate here and I was not disappointed. We started with cocktails, the strawberry based one was to die for. Menu is not large menu but perfectly adequate level of choice. I especially enjoyed the beetroot, horseradish & mackerel salad starter. My friend has the (tender) steak which was cooked exactly as ordered. The service was both excellent and entertaining. We'll be back soon.
I've eaten here a few times and love the atmosphere. The service was excellent and very friendly (bar one who seemed a bit flustered), otherwise the other servers were brilliant and had great wine suggestions. I had a delicious cold tomato and pepper soup to start and my partner had a very tasty chicken pate which was excellent. My main was duck with cherries - it was cooked beautifully but my only tiny wish would have been to have the cherry just that accompanied it to have been a bit sweeter, otherwise it was great. The chocolate and honeycomb desert was divine. All round, great experience and would eat here again
Big portions for sunday lunch...... makes it a bit better when the bill arrives
A unique environment, extremely
A unique environment, extremely friendly and prompt service and delicious food, what more could you want.
nice venue, toptable offer invalid
Modest exterior, blink and you'll miss it! Nice place, well maintained, good service. Disputed bill quickly resolved, toptable should make it clear that the 50% food offer is not valid on a Sunday! Tonyrosestuff
A suprisingly good local
Very pleasantly suprised having mostly known Paradise for its Friday/Saturday night booze spots.
Great value with the 50% off food deal. Really well cooked and nicely presented food. Attentive and friendly service. Nice candle-lit atmosphere.
Great Food, great value
I booked the 50% deal on Toptable for three. Plans changed and we had to move the booking to an earlier time same day. I called to change my booking, a very polite woman answered the phone and changed my booking no problem. When we arrived we were greeted in a very warm manner by several staff. Our waiter was wonderful, pleasant and patient as he explained several of the dishes and advised us on the menu. Food arrived it was way above expectations. The beef was so tender with amazing capers and wine gravy, duck & red cabbage was excellent and the lamb was done to perfection. Deserts very good too. I highly recommend the chocolate mousse and homemade honeycomb, a must when eating here. A very enjoyable dinning experience & value for money!
Very nice restaurant in this out of the way venue.
Excellent value on the toptable deal. Menu was varied but all options were delicious and well presented. Very long wine list with unusual options but knowledge staff to help you through.
Lovely atmosphere and ambience made for a pleasant evening
Staff are always friendly and efficient. Food was excellent but without the special Toptable deal of 50% off the food it does work out quite expensive, but nevertheless a great time was had by all.
Great place to eat and the food quality is ace. Overall experience was good . Been here many times but it's a very nice place.
Great meal and service
It is always a pleasure to dine at the Paradise. The food is tasty and nicely presented, warm ambience, friendly service and the TT offer is fantastic value. It is difficult to beat!
Excellent food in Kensal
Lovely pub and gets the combination of good food, atmosphere and down to earth service right. This could be a bit of a hipster snooty place, but is actually very welcoming and friendly. Staff are excellent and the food was really very good. The 50% offer is a bargain and a great way to sample this place.
Always feels like a special treat coming here. A beautiful room, excellent food and service. Been coming here for years and its always lovely.
Paradise never fails
Three of us had an excellent meal in Paradise. The food was perfectly and imaginatively cooked and beautifully served. The Top Table 50% discount on food made it excellent value.
Good value Great Food, Friendly
I always like going to this restaurant the staff are friendly the food is great and reasonably priced. The wine list offers a good section and the ambience is very unusual but homely.
Best Sunday Lunch
Best roast I've had in a long time. Extra yorkshires at no extra cost and large portions of meat which weren't fatty. A little more expensive than your average pub lunch but most definitely worth it.
Lovely evening at Paradise
I took my sister here as a leaving London treat. We had a delightful evening. The food was excellent and the ambience and service fabulous. Would whole heartedly recommend. We will be back.
Excellent service and food,
Excellent service and food, including tasty oysters at Paradise. We were impressive with the room and were well looked after
Really nice staff, lovely oysters. Good food & good wine. Have eaten here many times over the past few years. Love the food in the week. Not so much the Sunday lunch.
Service was excellent
Food was tasty and well presented. Our table was wobbly, but the waiter fixed it immediately. Wine was a tad on the pricey side, but was very nice.
always a pleasure to go to paradise. Menu could use a little more variety, and the wine-b-t-g should be more accessibly priced. With TT deal, this is a good value for great evening.
Paradise by Way of Kensal Green has great service and ambience. The food is well prepared and imaginative. We went on a Saturady evening for a special occasion and could not fault any part of the experience. Not the place to go if you want a quiet or romantic evening out, the bar in the room next door is a major nightspot in the area.
A wet night in west London
We had a really memorable meal on what was an evil evening weather wise. The staff were their normal impressive selves and the food as usual was to die for in particular the Cardmon Ice Cream which had to be eaten to be believed. A great experience as always and well worth the visit.
Fantastic Sunday Lunch!
Brilliant lunch - do not be put off by the £17/18 price tag - it is a far superior meal to the regular West London "gastro pubs" serving sub-standard roasts for £14. Pay the extra and enjoy beautifully cooked rib of beef with a great selection of vegetables, duck fat roasties (veggie option available) and rich home made gravy. They also offer complimentary yorkshire puddings!
The crab and spicy guacamole starter was phenomenal - so much crab meat!
I was also impressed with the selection of wines by the glass. The final bill was £80 including wine.
All in all it was a great lunch and I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends.
Now winter is drawing in, a Sunday lunch is amazing at Paradise. Generous portions, extra Yorkshire puds on request, all super tasty. Only downside to me was the number of small children present and service was actually too quick - sometimes it's nice to linger over a lunch without feeling like they're trying to rush you in and out.
Went for Sunday lunch just as they opened with a toddler. Service was great & very quick, had a very nice Sunday roast. Gorgeous pub, would love to go back for a proper night there minus the kid! But they were very child friendly,
Happiness @ Paradise
The staff at Paradise could not have been more wonderful. Both of the waiters who served us were extremely polite and friendly. Everything we tried was delicious but of note were the beer battered halloumi with matchstick fries and the apple and sage potato cake. The venue itself is also beautiful. The only downside is the location but definitely worth a trip here!
Great meal...but rather expensive
Great meal...but rather expensive for what it was!
Good dinner spot in north London
Great little spot. Ecclectic ambiance and atmosphere. Would certainly recommend.
Really pretty room with quirky decor in a huge Victorian pub. The meal was good and service excellent and atmosphere quite buzzing for early on a Tuesday evening. Beautifully cooked sea bass although greens and pumpkin a bit al dente for me. The chips are just perfect!
Good value with 50% off top
Good value with 50% off top table deal. Good gastro pub-- retains pub atmoshpere rather than fine dining. Friendly service. Very striking Victorian dining room with high ceilings which helps with sound. Oautstanding for what it is -- I have eaten here several times (almost always on your deal) and have never been disappointed.
Great as Always
We took some friends who had not been there before and they loved it. Food was excellent as was the service and ambience. Good value it you can get a percentage off the food. Always prepared to return.
As good as before
This was my third visit to the Paradise. The food as before was very good and the service attentive. With the Toptable offer the evening turned out to be very good value.
Great meal and service
Had a lovely meal with a friend down from Scotland. Only slight issue was that the scallops were not
very hot and really on the edge of being uncooked. Edible but another 10/20 secs and they would have been perfect. The place was busy for a Tuesday night, maybe due to the amazing 50% of food offer. This offer didn't affect menu choice nore the way we were looked after.
Am going back this evening, so I hope the experience will be matched!
Great meal out with family
I have to say for the quality of the food, service and venue at Paradise brings me back in a hurry. They are consistent every time and never fail to keep their menu fresh and seasonal and this is certainly reflected in the taste. Cant wait to go back and I highly recommend.
Paradise great as always
No further comment - everything is great, as always.
