Went here for a birthday, was very excited as we had all wanted to go here for years. Cannot say a bad word about the venue, food, overall service by most of the staff. Our waiter was dreadful, maybe it was his first day or he was just useless but we waited 30 mins for an espresso & had to tell different staff members that we were ready to order drinks, and then again later food. I went to the main desk and asked if we could have another waiter, explaining the issues we were having, however, it was a busy Saturday night and can appreciate that this was not possible, however, we the manager did not add a tip onto our bill which was kind of her. The attentiveness from all the other staff members was impeccable so it made up for our waiter.
An explosion of flavors
The food was really really good, the service perfect but the place too noisy :-/
Lovely time, lovely food & service. The pre-theatre menu was actually good value. The rest of the menu quite overpriced.
Best Japanese (fusion) in London
Nobody does it better. Outstanding and creative hot dishes, mindblowing sushi and invisibly efficient service. Just take your wallet (full) when you go.
lived up to expectations
Very good service from a knowledgeable waiter with lovely food that lived up to expectations and matched the dishes served in its Malibu counterpart. I prefer here to Berkeley Street although parking can be a real PITA in the immediate area.
Too many great options
Went for lunch and almost spent the afternoon there. The food was excellent (presentation, flavours, and ingredients) and for that reason alone Nobu would get a high overall rating. Service was good (and the waiter a great help in suggesting menu items/portions) but slightly sluggish when they got busy. While there were stylish elements to the room, it wasn't as stylish as I expected. Overall a great meal and I will return, hopefully on expenses.
Top Class Sushi
Amazingly fresh sushi, set inside the Metropolitan Hotel. I personal prefer the Berkley venue but still a top sit to visit for you sushi buffs.
Nobu lives up to it's expectations
Can only describe my dining experience at Nobu London in one word, 'Ahmazing!' Food was exceptional with fresh produce and a combination of mouth watering flavours. Staff were very attentive but not too suffocating. Felt very well looked after. Would definitely go back again!
good for business meal
The restaurant was quite noisy considering this is in a sophisticated hotel on Park Lane. Although it was full of business men and women on their lunch breaks,we do appreciate that they located us in a corner by the window as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. It is pricey as expected however food is top quality. The wasabi paste served with my sushi platter was a let down. It was so bland that I could not taste any wasabi flavour. I asked the waiter if they had any stronger wasabi paste and he kindly went to ask the chef. The chef sent some chilli sauce! Not a sauce I would expect a high end Japanese restaurant to offer up with delicate raw fish.I would expect a sushi chef to know better! Other than that we did have a lovely meal.
Beyond Our Expectation
Dining at Nobu Old Park Lane on 21 Sept 2013 was an unforgettable experience for us. The foods we ordered (2 starters, 3 main courses, 1 dessert) were based on our waitress recommendation, which all meals we ate were wonderful and delicious. The presentation of each plates were also beautiful.
And we were impressed by the waitresses services, everytime they put our meals on the table they will explain what's on the plate and how the chef cooked it.
For 40 quids per person (it's not cheap for Indonesian which currency to GBP is now really bad), it's all worth our money.
If you happen to visit London, and you love Japanese food, Nobu is highly recommended.
Outstanding food, excellent
Outstanding food, excellent service-very helpful and friendly. Although the restaurant was extremely busy, our experience was one of calm and unhurried attention.
Fantastic Night Out
Nobu definitely lived up to the hype. Every drink and every course was spectacular. The sake sampler was a delicious start to the meal and the chocolate bento box a delicious finish!
What a lovely special meal. Food outstanding, worth every penny.
Outstanding as always
Nobu never disappoints. Our food was unbelievably good, (just thinking about the Rock Shrimp tempura makes my mouth water). The service is perfect - friendly and attentive (but not too). It Isn't cheap but its worth it.
Great food. Classic favourites
Great food. Classic favourites still amazing after so many years. Outstanding service.
Great food, service was great,
Great food, service was great, will be returning soon! :)
Great for a special occasion
Best sushi I've had in London
Waiters are very professional
Excellent food, but overpriced
We had a lovely diner with the four in a beautiful ambiance. Great food, nice and helpful waiters. However, like the rest of London its terribly expensive. But on the other side: you only live once, so GO!!
Didn't Rock my World
The quality of the food is top notch and the service is great. The room is unspectacular and unless you have a window seat, fairly bland. I think the key question is whether the quality of the food justifies the prices. I have been to Japanese restaurants in London which are also great and prices are 50% less.
Nobu didnt fail to exceed expectation. Staff were friendly from the outset and the menu was an Aladdins cave of japanese fusion treats. Whilst the price is high the creativity is second to none and some of the combinations (i.e tuna in jalapeno sauce) were an explosion of flavours. We went for a birthday celebration and it will be a night to be remembered not least becuase they accomodated a last minute request for a Chocolate Bento birthday box...but then it was a monday. Fabulous.
Go easy on the 2 hours...
food was superb, service great the only issue for us was that at 2100 while we were having our desert the waitress brought us the bill and asked us to finish asap.... for the 250GBP we paid for 2 people , they could try and be more polite.
My favourite restaurant in London
Food great, ambiance phenomenal, great service. What else?
Great Food...perhaps overpriced???
exceptional food and service. Perhaps overpriced due to the fact that its based in Mayfair?? (3 course meal for 4 people, 1 bottle of wine and a cocktail each £500). Regardless a fantastic treat and the best sushi i've ever had. Yellowtail appetiser is something else too. Would 100% recommend to friends and family
the experience was definitely
the experience was definitely helped by a very cute waiter!
great food but our family got ill
3 people in our group of 4 all were ill following our dinner on saturday evening. the same 3 of us all had the soup in the chefs special so I assume that was the cause.
Having lived in Japan for
Having lived in Japan for two years I have had a lot of authentic japanese food and therefore had a reasonable expectation as to what the food should be like. I was not disappointed. The food was of a far higher standard than I was used to. It was delicious. I ordered the omakase chefs recommended taster menu. I expected the portions to be small and was worried I would not be full when I finished. The portion sizes were perfect (I am a healthy female eater - I eat a lot!). My husband who does not like fish tried the sashimi and cooked black cod and found them both delicious. One preference would have been that the tables were not so close together - hence ambience 4star. Apart from this the food, service, and therefore value - outstanding.
Nobu is fantastic for groups, the food naturally leans towards sharing and the larger the group the more dishes that can be sampled. Service is very good, I prefer the atmosphere in the original Nobu to the one in Berkeley Street although it doesn't have a bar to match. The black cod has been much copied but nowhere manages to do it as well as the original.
Went with my son and sat at
Went with my son and sat at the chefs table he loved they were great at showing him the preparation if the sushi We had a set menu and there was no pushing you to take extras as often happens with these deals. Would recommend although prices would soon start to climb if you went a la cart.
Great location overseeing Park Lane. Service was great.
Excellent food and very good service. Expensive but one of the best japanese in town.
We enjoyed the Signature Taster Menu, a tad expensive at £85 but every dish was extremely high quality and tasted amazing. The service was polite and quick and Nobu was busy without being hectic. A lovely time as a treat.
We each did a tasting menu. Outstanding selection of food, was great to try so many different types of Japanese cuisine. Service was great, we couldn't decide on which Sake to try with our food and the waitresses were very helpful.
We wanted to celebrate and nobu was the perfect place for adults and children
Great restaurent, food is outstanding! Although quite difficult to work menu out on your first visit, although waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Went there with 2 friends for lunch and the food was faultless... amazing prawn tempura, tasty katsudon curry but what was amazing was the flourless chocolate fondant which was light, fluffy but not too chocolatey.
great food, very noisy though
birthday meal, very enjoyable, the blackened cod in particular was superb! Only negative was that the minimalist décor meant there was no dampening effect on sound so had to practically shout to be heard above the general hubbub!
Delicious Sushi and Great Service
Delicious meal and some of the best service I've recieved in London. A bit pricey, but worth it
Remarkable food experience
We've been here last year and I know why we game back. Again excellent food. The menu is enormous, so we didn't chose ourselfes bus let the waiter decide for us. The masterpiece was the glazen cod fillet.
excellent as usual
I've been to Nobu several times, in NY and London and I alwais enjoyed a lot the excellent food. Maybe the decor at NY is better ut you come mainly to enjoy the cuisine.
Time to savour
A lovely taste experience...
Service was very good at the table.
The waiting area could be improved in terms of seating.
Overall, a good night and great dining experience.
The food in nobu was of the highest quality, especially the hot dishes exclusive
to nobu, such as the black cod in lettuce butter,
Or the sea urchin tempura. The cod was full of flavour, and was cooked perfectly with a blend of nice spices. The sushi was of high quality, although I feel the salmon and tuna could have done with a little bit bitter treatment. Overall, fantastic restaurant and one I would definitely recommend!
Too crowdy, rather expensive and far not the best Japanese food i have ever had.
The food was, as usual, very good but the service was ok. Overall we enjoyed the evening and would recommend it and probably come back.
Consistent and delicious, every tim
Nobu is our go-to for tip top Japanese -- consistent quality, good service, and always a buzz, even on Monday evenings at 10 pm! We'll be back.
Yellow fin sashimi amazing
As was the beef tataki. All food good. Some main dishes were a little pricey for what they were. Service was very good. Would go again.
Nobu is a wonderful warm place
Nobu is a wonderful warm place with an alive atmosphere. Going in a group and getting high on sake is a must. As couple we had a great evening. The food is simply marvelous.would recommend the salad and the black cod nobu special. Would skip the veg sushi. The chocolate dessert was simply fabulous and a must eat. It is quite steep but worth team experience. We dined at the old park lane restaurant.
Excellent service and stunning food
I have always wanted to go to Nobu but always worried about the cost and what to order. Finally booked to go last weekend and it was brilliant, we were honest with the waiter and said not sure what or how much to order and he was really helpful and recommended a mixture of all dishes. We opted not to have appetisers and a couple more main dishes.... The snow crab and black cod was delicious.
Was surprised that the main dishes were actually quite big and the sushi and sashimi ok value for portion sizes.
Would I go back... As soon as I can afford another £340 bill (or can avoid the champagne!!)
I had heard lots about Nobu, and it was everything I was expecting and so much more....The waiter helped us choose and his recommendations were stunning. Lobster salad & black cod were the 2 stand out dishes, amazing!! Will be going back ASAP.
I will never forget it!
It was one of the best meals i have ever eaten! Thank you for a fantastic dinner and great service!
Amazing resturant and great
Amazing resturant and great food, the staff were very attentive and helpful. A great treat for birthday celebrations.
