This is a pleasant place. Lunch was very nice, while not great. Service was excellent.
Oasis of Calm
Lovely oasis of calm for quiet lunch after busy exhibit.

It was many years since my last visit to Rex Whistler Restaurant and we were delighted by an excellent set lunch menu and carafe of wine before the Picasso exhibition (which is big and needs lots of energy). The marinated (cooked) veal was particularly good. Because of current building works, access is only from Millbank and the nearest loos are round the corner in the 'new' wing which is quite a trek between courses! Appropriate signage is totally lacking - hence the score of 1.
Tate refurbished , quite impressive.Whistler Restaurant reopened - not quite up to speed yet - wine list straight off the printer - prosecco listed but not available but really good service recovery by manager and excellent service all round.
Food tasty if not yet exciting. Will return when they get into their stride - as always here terrific wine list with low markups.
Very nice food. Nice setting
Only pity is that it is only really open at lunch times
