  • "We have been to rasoi several times now and have not had a bad meal yet, the atmosphere is excellent and the service is very friendly, I would recommend rasoi to anyone and look forward going back soon"

  • "Excellent food and presentation. Service was a little slow when it came to the bill."

  • "My second visit to Rasoi. Very nice restaurant...food delicious and a definite experience. The chap brings the meals with his white gloves....very professional. Will be a regular customer."

  • "I love the decor and the feel of this restaurant. We were not disappointed with the food although one of our party found the madras much spicier than usual. While the service for food was good it was very slow for drinks with orders at times forgotten. But despite this would go back."

  • "Every time I visit the Rasoi I know that I am going to enjoy my meal! The service and food are always excellent. I would have given my usual five star rating for everything but we had onion bhajis which were not at all up to the standard of the Rasoi! They were very greasy and you couldn't taste the onion! Everything else was absolutely brilliant as usual so I don't know what happened to the onion bhajis!"

  • "I took my mum here for mothers day cause she loves Indian food. The staff are always floating around to help you with anything. The start of service was really quick, had starters and main in very reasonable time but when asked for extras during meal eg. more mint sauce, we never received it. A bit slow with bringing out the children's ice cream but it was very busy by then. It wasn't that cheap but food was very tasty and every dish had its own flavour. I would definitely go back."

  • "We had given up eating out on Mothers Day as it usually led to poor service, cold food and long waits for courses. This visit to the Rasoi put all those problems away we had efficient service our drinks arrived with poppadoms and chutney tray whilst we looked through the fabulous choice on the menu. Our meals came quickly, everyone's meal was as usual superb. I love the naan bread here as it's cooked freshly to order. Highly recommend a visit."

  • "I have eaten at the Rasoi on a number of occasions and have enjoyed every one. This past week however we attended twice, once with a guest from London and the second time fora family celebration, the standards are very high and seem to be getting better if anything, food and service is just excellent. I do not hesitate to recommend this superb restaurant"

  • "We had a fabulous night out on Saturday evening and although the restaurant was extremely busy the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend the restaurant and will look forward to returning in the near future."

  • "Good atmosphere amid modern furnishings. Food was very good when it arrived. Due to a kitchen problem we had to wait over 90 minutes for our main course, but staff showed little concern. Disappointed with service."

  • "I would recommend this restaurant - great food, service and great decor. A hidden Gem. My family and I love Indian food and this is the best restaurant we have found. So much so, I wish I lived in the village. I travel away with work a lot and always try local Indian restaurants – this one gets a 10/10 from me. Beating any other restaurant I have found in locations are varied as Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds, Derby, Swindon, Swansea, Reading and London. Others have come close, but not excelling at both food, service, ambience and importantly value."

  • "Easy online booking, promptly finalised. Convenient parking which felt safe. Warm welcome and quickly shown to our cosy table.Felt a bit lonely at seven pm on a Monday but In no time, the place filled up to a comfortable number of other diners. Food well presented with spotless tables and cutlery. Perfect combination of great flavours that didn't leave me feeling rough the following morning. I find most Indian meals I have are one at the expense of the other. Service was attentative but unobtrusive. Tables wiped between courses and not just going through the motions. Felt like our custom was valued and all in all amost satisfying evening. Back soon."
    dined on 17/03/2014
  • "This place is outstandingly decorated and the ambience is lovely. Great for couple or large bookings as they have capacity. The food IS nice but it had only one vegetarian option for main course! When I asked for something else minus the meet, the waiter said it was not possible as "it came as it was" which made me thinksyne the food isn't cooked to fresh. We had the dessert platter to finish which was the best dessert I have ever had. I would go back just for that. More veggie options please!"

  • "I highly recommend the rasoi to anyone, whether its a special occasion or just meeting up with some friends. The welcome is always excellent, online booking makes things easy, the service throughout the evening with excellent and as for the food, there is a reason why the rasoi wins awards because the food is outstanding, by far my favourite restaurant in South Wales."

  • "First time I had been and have to say that I was thoroughly impressed. Wide variety of food on the menu at different prices. Both mine and my wife's food was amazing. They've done a great job with this place. I will definitely return!"

  • "Visited Rasoi last Thursday with a friend. Service was excellent and swift. We ordered some poppadams and dips rather than any starters and these were soon demolished. Our mains came fairly quickly after and were perfectly presented as usual. Couldn't have asked for more, the smell was beautiful and it tasted delicious, once more! I can't give enough praise to the Rasoi as it always delivers top food time after time."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Lovely food, great service, small portions, over priced, small menu"
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "We went to Rasoi again on Saturday, and as usual, the evening was excellent. The food really is very good. It's interesting (so many more choices than your typical High Street Indian restaurant). The food (especially some of the starters and desserts) are beautifully presented. The staff are very helpful. The restaurant was full (and it's a big restaurant !), so there was a little wait between courses, but nothing unreasonable. We will certainly be going again."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed our food experience. We went for lunch. The menu for lunch is more limited than in the evening however there is still a good a la carte choice and a set menu which is the option we went for. At £9 for two courses and £11 for three it is a very reasonable price and the dishes interesting. I chose crispy lamb with a tomato and fenugreek sauce followed by masala cod and gulab jamin. All delicious and beautifully presented, This is not your usual curry experience. Go for the food, service and decor."

  • "This is the third time we have eaten at the Rasoi, the food quality has been excellent every time!"
    dined on 01/02/2014
  • "Having been a few times last year to the restaurant we were expecting the same level of experience as we have done previously...good standard of food and service,we actually have recommended the place before to friends ,but this time we felt extremely let down, with poor to mediocre food served by less than attentive staff, clearly either disinterested or suffering from poor moral, we actually dont think we"ll go again...not to mention value for money !"
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "Once again another fabulous meal. If you haven't been you must."
    dined on 17/01/2014
  • "We had a lovely evening, great food, fantastic atmosphere, excellent customer service. Thanks, we will definitely be back again."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "A menu with some more unusual choices than your average Indian restaurant. It took more deciding time because of this. Starters good and well presented. Mains ok, but prawn dish not up to diner's standard. However I would still return. Staff attentive. Decor good."
    dined on 15/01/2014
  • "The Rasoi is a very pleasant place however we did not have the best dining experience. The service was very slow despite the place not being full. Soft drinks are very expensive - I cannot comment on the price of alcoholic drinks as we did not have any. The menu was quite limited also."
    dined on 10/01/2014
  • "Went for a buissness meeting ,it was our first visit ,and thought the decor was fantastic asked for a table booth which was great the staff were very pleasant and friendly . Ordered our starters and when they came out the presentation was excellent so was the food , main course's were just as good we did order chips but did not have them asked one of the staff but still didn't receive them ,but as we were eating realised it was too much food so didn't ask again .the deserts were served on slate boards again presentation was amazing and very delicious ..we will definitely return"
    dined on 10/01/2014
  • "Great food in an amazing place. A bit out of the way but when you get there its worth it. Service was slow (hence 3 stars as it was very busy) and was an hour between starters and main course."
    dined on 04/01/2014
  • "Without doubt one of the best curry houses in South West Wales and well worth a visit especially as it is off the beaten track and therefore avoids having a chav customer base.. Food is excellent and varied and staff very helpful and friendly. Have used before and will continue to do so in the future."

  • "One could say that we as a family have now become regulars! It is our favoured meeting point for a get together, simply because all regardless of age ( from 6 to 70) simple love pretty well everything about Rasoi Pontlliw. This time it was New Years Eve, a busy time for the restaurant, but the quality of the food and service was excellent. We sat at 7pm and left around 11 due to the youngsters in our party. Service slowed down a bit by the time we ordered coffee, but bearing in mind how busy it was this cannot fairly be described as unexpected. Waiters were A1 in efficiency and pleasantness. Thank you Rasoi for another splendid occasion."
    dined on 31/12/2013
  • "Food was lovely but all meals were a little spicy."
    dined on 26/12/2013
  • "The ambience here is great and really enjoyed the experience. There were 6 in our party. Food was enjoyable, but a little too spicy for me. My dish is normally quite mild, but still too much spice in it. If you like spicy food, you will have no problem, if not order plain dishes without spices."
    dined on 21/12/2013
  • "A little different from the usual menu you find at an Indian restaurant. Sea bass was excellent."
    dined on 21/12/2013
  • "Disappointing booked a table of 6 for sunday afternoon and was only people in there. It was so cold we had to keep coats on and the waiter acted as if we were a inconvenience. The food was not much better. ."
    dined on 15/12/2013
  • "My wife and I have eaten at Rasoi several times and we have always enjoyed the experience. The other 2 couples we went with had not been before. The food was outstanding and the service was very good considering it was a very busy Saturday night. The choice of dishes is very good with some really interesting combinations. Our friends were really impressed and I am sure they will be returning there again in the near future."
    dined on 14/12/2013
  • "arrived and went straight to table.no waiting even though the resruarant was full, service was pleasant and prompt, food was delicious whether it was a traditional curry or one of the fusion meals, unlike normal indian restaurants deserts are a must here, especially the home made ice cream"
    dined on 07/12/2013
  • "This was yet another visit to Rasoi, this time for a family sunday lunch gathering. I am pleased to be able to reiterate what I have said on many previous occasions,- everything was excellent across the board. It was very quiet when we arrived but that did not spoil the atmosphere despite it being a very large restaurant. The seating is so arranged that you are usually oblivious to what goes on elsewhere and therefore focussed on enjoying your table. Food and service was excellent standard. Have already booked our next table in a few weeks time, and all the family members age range 6 to 70 yrs are looking forward to it very much. Highly recommended."
    dined on 01/12/2013
  • "Well worth a visit, with friends, family & couples. Ambience was great, you couldn't fault the service & the food was very flavoursome. I would defiantly go there again."

  • "If your expecting a normal 'UK Indian restaurant' meal then be prepared to be enlightened. The cuisine in the Rasoi is poles apart from that which you may have experienced at the ususal 'UK Indian' restaurant. Very delicious and non greasy meals. Fantastic fish curry not to be missed. Great surroundings. Don't let the external appearance of the restaurant put you off because the inside is a very pleasant suprise.."

  • "Had a wonderful meal again at the Rasoi, our guests were very impressed with the décor and food."
    dined on 01/11/2013
  • "Visited for the first time last night and we were both very impressed. When our main meal arrived initially I was a little disappointed at the portion size (I had the Meetha Jingha - Honey and Ginger Prawns with Green Rice) as it was simply 7 or 8 large King Prawns arrange around a small pot of rice, but I was very wrong! Deceptively filling! Although I still managed to squeeze in a dessert. Service was excellent, great value for money overall. The only bad point was that to get to the toilets you have to to out of the main restaurant area and out by the entrance / exit doors, which were open and it was blowing a gale and raining. This meant I got wet and very, very cold. Will definitely be visiting again though."
