RacineVery good food and valueIn a very typical "bistro" ambiance, we were offered an diversified menu with not so common choices. The food was really good, and an attentive service. Very fair price. We really like it.15/05/2013 00:00:00The food was a delight , clearlyThe food was a delight , clearly fresh , well presented but not fussy and well cooked. The service was attentive but not at all over bearing. The ambience was good , tables spaced and the dinning area not too noisy. I can see why when my collegue told me afterwards it is one of his favourite restaurants.14/05/2013 00:00:00great french bistro farewent to Racine for an early dinner before heading to the V&A. we only ordered entrees but everything was fantastic. got the duck confit, a fish dish and a lamb dish. flavors of all were dishes were great. service was polite and attentive. would definitely go back again.26/04/2013 00:00:00Wonderful Racine! We always make it a point to dine there when in London. Excellent wine list. Will gladly accommodate gluten intolerant patrons.31/03/2013 00:00:00ReunionI was meeting a friend I hadn't seen for 20 years for lunch. Service was helpful, efficient and unobtrusive. The ambience was calm, comfortable and welcoming. Noise levels were ideal for us to exchange reminiscences without having to whisper or raise our voices; something rare in London restaurants. We both selected the winter dinner special and shared a desert. I was returning for the third time and Racine lived up to my expectations as the ideal location for this reunion (and I haven't mentioned the name was fitting to!).14/03/2013 00:00:00Great!Overall very good. Lovely food, good attentive service and top notch wines, in a very relaxed authentic atmosphere. Will definitely return.09/03/2013 00:00:00great to be backvisited Racine after four years break from London raising our toddler. took a girlfriend for a child-free lunch but the service is so fantastic, I'd consider taking my son, though Racine is not so suitable for children who are not happy to remain seated. have always loved the window tables and was given my favourite, table 38. reasonably priced, excellent wines, including Deutz champagne by the half bottle. i would describe food as 'haute bistro', deeply flavoursome sauces accompanying simply prepared, finely executed, quality ingredients. excellent fish, lamb and of course frites - always the test of a good bistro. the razor clams were a touch rubbery and the prune and vanilla pot could do with an oomph, but overall, a hit!08/03/2013 00:00:00Superb valueWe went with parents for a pre-theatre supper. The prix-fixe menu was as usual, very small and I reluctantly avoided the wonderful al-lacarte menu knowing we were short of time and unenthusiastically selected a Mackerel main course. I have never tasted anything like it, beautifully cooked and not a single bone it was a real treat! Between us we ate every dish from the prix-fixe menu and all agreed everything was sublime. At £17.00 for three courses, it was no more expensive than if we had chosen a quick bite in a bog standard chain restaurant. Fantastic value.
Oh, and service is top-class.02/03/2013 00:00:00Delivers what it promisesDelivers what it promises : a reasonnably priced basserie experience in London. Great for those ''French'' business lunches.22/02/2013 00:00:002nd best meal I've had for ages!I've been meaning to go Racines for years and finally made it - I took my other half for their birthday. It doesn't look much from the outside but don't let that put you off. The staff are knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive. The menu was great - the only problem was I wanted a bit of it all. My lamb was so flavoursome and tender and the creme caramel was the best I've ever tasted. The only restaurant I've been to in the last few years that I enjoyed more was Le Manoir which is in a completely different price bracket! The food in Racines is amazing without being pretentious. Will definitely go back and have already recommended it to anyone that mentions they are going to be in London.16/02/2013 00:00:00Reliably very goodGood food and good service, as always, and at reasonable prices.15/02/2013 00:00:00loved our meal at Racine!went there for Valentines day and it was wonderful!14/02/2013 00:00:00Calm oasisEver reliable food, calm understated decor, attentive service and fairly priced set menu - what more can you want! Will return05/02/2013 00:00:00Although we arrived at 7.30Although we arrived at 7.30 pm we asked for and chose the fixed-price menu. The food was delicious. Excellent small salad to start, onglet perfectly cooked à point as a main course and a delicious pear frangipane tart as pudding. Service was attentive and friendly. Although full, the restaurant did not seem unduly noisy. Altogether, a very pleasant evening and excellent food.04/02/2013 00:00:00OutstandingI had a bit of trepidation trying this place as some of the more recent reviews were a bit equivocal regarding food and service. I have to tell you, dinner was amazing. Service just perfect and while I'm sure I'm not the worlds expert on french cuisine, it was far better than all of the restaurants I've recently eaten at in Paris. I could have eaten there every night of this trip. Do not miss, and a good value.28/12/2012 16:00:00oh the lamb confitAs a chef and foodie, i can highly recommend Racine. everything was simply prepared, perfectly. The foie gras appetizer was smooth and buttery. The Lamb Confit was perfection.
Our entire meal was exactly what we hoped it would be that evening.
Merci Racine!27/12/2012 16:00:00Great atmosphereOld world charm in this comfortable restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had the set lunch menu which was great value. The menu is traditional French. The salade frisée and onglet with mash were delicious and for desert the oeufs a la neige a nice treat and seldom seen on menus where we eat in London.26/12/2012 16:00:00Racine is a fabulous FrenchRacine is a fabulous French Bistro with exemplary food. Although on this visit the food was as excellent as ever, the wine was from a different vintage from our last visit & not as good despite an identical rather hefty price.23/10/2012 16:00:00Excellently cooked and presentedExcellently cooked and presented food. A sensible wine list ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous09/10/2012 00:00:00Lovely French restaurantFood and wine are all very French (and wine list has a number of wines by glass and half bottle which is good). The surroundings are intimate. Prices not too high given level of cuisine.04/10/2012 00:00:00Great serviceClient lunch at Racine. Very good service. Food was delicious. Would recommend.20/09/2012 16:00:00Racine is a fabulous restaurant.Racine is a fabulous restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday & so they gave us the best table & treated us extremely well. The restaurant was full & the ambience was buzzy without being too noisy. The food is simply delicious & the choice of wine wide, particularly by the glass. We shall definitely be returning.11/09/2012 16:00:00Excellent dinner at Racine.Excellent dinner at Racine. Great food and fantastic service.30/07/2012 16:00:00Racine, Knightsbridge
A greatRacine, Knightsbridge
A great find - good food, attentive service, fair price. So far above the many would-be cafe-restaurants in the area. Will definitely return.07/05/2012 00:00:00We always dine at the RacineWe always dine at the Racine when in London and will continue to do so in the future. Personally we wish it were a little more quiet, but the food and service is so great we ignore the surrounding sound.06/05/2012 00:00:00I had wanted to go to thisI had wanted to go to this smart but unstuffy French restaurant for years. I was not disappointed and I will definitely be back. Duck confit with lentils was particularly good. Very reasonable lunchtime specials made this a very good value option for the area.27/04/2012 16:00:00A lovely Sunday lunch, goodA lovely Sunday lunch, good service great food would recommend, can't wait to go back!.24/03/2012 17:00:00Was impressed with Racine. Was impressed with Racine. The quality of the food was very good and on the whole the service was efficient and very friendly. However, we waiting so long to order our desert that we decided against having one in the end. One negative on an otherwise enjoyable evening.17/02/2012 16:00:00Henry Harris' Racine is anHenry Harris' Racine is an easy place to find, it being just along the road to the west of Harrods, on the Brompton Road. Finding it is also extremely worthwhile exercise.
Attractive and delicious offerings form the compact menu which is accompanied by a very well-stocked and reasonably-priced wine list.
Service is attentive and friendly although, at times, there is a distracting amount of intrusion by the waiter's arms; a minor problem.07/02/2012 16:00:00Racine in Knightsbridge isRacine in Knightsbridge is a restaurant that we had visited in the past and we were looking forward to an early evening dinner. The prix-fixe menu is very good value, although choice is limited, and my wife and daughter both enjoyed their salad and onglet. I ate from the carte and whilst they were out of the cofit de canard, my two seafood starters were both excellent. we were first to arrive at 6.30 but by the time we left the place was full and deservedly so.30/01/2012 16:00:00
