Prix Fixe BrasserieNever let me down yetI've visited this restaurant many times now - it's perfect for Soho Theatre which is a regular haunt. I always enjoy my meal and the prompt, attentive and friendly service. The menu choice is excellent and the food is well-cooked and presented. I had the smoked haddock for main course and it was delicious - two friends had duck and both were very complimentary. The manager/owner comes to chat and he was kind enough this time to extend our table stay this time when a friend was late. The table wasn't quite ready when we got there but we had a drink and waited. The menu is all typically French - I had chorizo and halloumi skewers for starter - but they were amazing. I would also recommend opting for the fillet steak over the entrecote. It was really tasty and the sauce was divine. We opted for Chateauneuf du Pape for the wine, which was exquisite. The service was great - we were the last to leave which didn't bother the chatty, friendly waiters at all. The food, service and ambience was very good. It is great to have such a restaurant close to theatreland that has the right atmosphere, with such good food. There was lots to choose from off the set menu, but the al a carte was not too pricey anyway. Found this little gem by first searching on yell.com for French restaurants near the theatre, then checking the restaurants against trip advisor. This gem gets really good feedback on trip advisor and we can see why. Waiters very attentive from the moment we arrived. Restaurant was already busy at 5.00pm. Tables not on top of each other. Food delicious very authentic french (apart from some of the puddings). Value for money amazing for central London. We will definitely be returning. I cannot find any fault with this restaurant. The food is complimented by excellent service and a decor that creates great ambience. Despite the relatively large group size the service was very good but I was bowled over with the cost! £11.00 for 2 courses and £14 for 3 courses. Clearly the steak costs a little extra; that means that despite some steak orders and sides, as well as a lot of wine and beer as well and a coffee, the bill ended up at £25 a head.
The food is all very simple French Cuisine which is put together very well. I had relatively low expectations to be perfectly honest, but was completely surprised! Fantastic small little restaurant. Attentive service, even on NYE. Set menu was about £25 for three courses and was great value. I had scallops to start (three pretty large scallops, perfectly cooked), lamb with the most delicious sauce our party had ever tasted and a white chocolate and rasperry creme brulee. The only complaint was that the brulee wasn't very well set, butit was still delicious.
