Diner Reviews
  • "I have been unimpressed on a couple of occassions coming to Pizza East but this last experience has changed my point of view completely. Everything was delicious and I scoffed down the entire pizza crusts and all!"
    dined on 06/04/2014
  • "The waitress was so nervous about the time, so she kept asking us to leave, and being nervous made her manners quite rude. Shame otherwise quiet nice restaurant and good food,"
    dined on 04/04/2014
  • "Really loved this place, highly recommend for lovers of real authentic pizza."
    dined on 02/04/2014
  • "Really great pizzas, but don't try the lamb, nice atmosphere but really loud and crowdy."
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "I was there on a date so was nervous enough and found it very irritating how pushy the waiteresses were. I understand during busy times you need to get tables free but it felt like they just wanted us to eat and go away. After we finished there was no instruction or recommendation that we could go sit at the bar and the reception had staff members just kind of floating around. The food on the othet hand was great and I will definitely return to eat here again as its the best pizza I have eaten since I visited Italy, just tell your staff to chill out a bit"
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "I have been to pizza east a few times in larger groups and loved it but this time was disappointed. I took a date and we were sat at a table that seemed to be right in the thoroughfare of customers coming and going, and waiters pacing around. Completely ruined the atmosphere. Tables for three people or more are far better placed. I won't be taking a date here again."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "Was our second time at this restaurant, once again we were not disappointed, the food and service was excellent ! I would recommend this place! :)"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Relaxed atmosphere, good service and one of the best pizzas in town. Always look forward to the next visit. Highly recommended"

  • "Disappointed that Pizza East wanted the table back so quickly!"
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "Every time I leave the Shoreditch Pizza East I am already looking forward to the next visit. On this occasion I introduced an ex-work colleague to the restaurant and both of us enjoyed the food, the wine, and the general atmosphere, immensely. We have already agreed to return with our Wives at the earliest opportunity."

  • "The pizzas were excellent even though we did struggle to work out what was veggie on the menu. The salted caramel tart dessert was amazing. Love the carafes of wine, the 500ml size is perfect for two people. It's a really bustling and noisy venue, with tables really squeezed together, but the food more than made up for this. Very glad we booked through top table as it was very busy on a Thursday eve."

  • "Pizza East is a great place to eat with friends if you are looking a relaxed evening with a fun and lively atmosphere. The establishment is very popular, so it is important to book if you want to sit at your own table. However, the long communal tables are also a very sociable way to enjoy your food. Since being invited to Pizza East by my Nephew last year, I have now returned on numerous occasions with several different friends and work colleagues. I have always had a good food, good wine and have never been disappointed."

  • "Booked a table for 2 at Pizza East to catch up with a friend over dinner. Restaurant is stylishly decorated and has a nice ambience. Ordered a bottle of still water, two beers, a garlic bread (strong but delicious) to start and two pizzas. Food was all great. Service however was not so great. I was told when confirming the table that as we were a table of two we would only have the table for an hour and a half. This was reiterated when we arrived. Throughout dinner, no one came to check that food was OK or if we would like to order any more drinks (which I did!). When I tried to order another beer when the waitress came to clear plates, I was told no as our time was almost up on the table. Disappointing service."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "Went with 2 friends and we shared, macaroni cheese, a pizza with anchovies and capers, some bresola and tempura seafood. Was delicious. The macaroni is the best I've ever had. We had a bottle of wine as well and it came to 21 with service. Service isn't the best, wasn't really sure who was serving us. Doesn't matter though, as woudl definitely go back."
    dined on 13/03/2014
  • "I have been there three times and will go back for sure! Good pizzas, nice service and the building & premises is very attractive."
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "Ive been to this restaurant a few times and it offers a reliably good pizza. I wouldn't recommend other things on the menu, however. The service is ok, nothing to tell home about. The staff is a little unprofessional and disorganised. The décor is quite welcoming and fun - great for groups. If i'm in Shoreditch and want a good pizza, i'll go back again!"
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "I like Pizza East and would recommend it based on location, atmosphere and price. The service can be a bit patchy on some occastions. However we had a booking of 6 and the staff were attentive and helpful. The food came out really quickly. A common complaint is that the pizza is the toppings are often too sparse and the dough too dry. The buratta cheese was not to much either (a shame as that's my favourite this to order as a side)."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "First time visit - pretty cool place. Went on a Saturday night so had to book - 1.5 hr sitting, which was enough for a meal for two. The music a bit loud for my taste, however a table for two is quite cosy, so talking is not too laboured. Fresh choice of pizza toppings - broccoli and spicy sausage was good, egg and spinach more ordinary but satisfying enough. Loved the spicy cinnamon donut desert, although I would have preferred them less 'light' and more stodgy - it's a donut after all! Super fast and friendly service. Lighting a bit on the moody side, made it difficult to read my menu, but powered through with candlelight! The old skool photo booth in the basement was a surprising treat - got a nice memento of our date night."

  • "I went to Pizza East (Shoreditch) for dinner on a Thursday evening. The food was excellent (we had a starter, pizzas and a side salad). The service was excellent as well, and attentive without being overbearing. My only grouse (if it can be called that) was that it is incredibly loud, and one ends up shouting across the table just to be heard. Tip: One should always reserve, to avoid waiting for anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Food was delicious, great buzzy atmosphere BUT the waitress brought our main meal TWICE to the table while we were still eating our starters. I mean, come on. Check the table before you try to dump the main courses- that's rule no1 in the training manual surely? Service was generally friendly and attentive but that was just rude. Even the people on the next table were taken aback by service we had. Not the end of the world, I know, but I would expect better in a place like this."
    dined on 05/03/2014
  • "Located a stone's throw from Shoreditch High Street station, Pizza East offered an conveniently-located, eclectic yet cosy dining option. They mainly do pizzas and they do it well. Service was attentive and friendly - would recommend to others and visit again (maybe try the bar too?)."
    dined on 08/02/2014
  • "Delicious food, attentive and friendly service, and a lively atmosphere. I cannot rate Pizza East highly enough. I have ate there on 4 separate occasions in 6 weeks - with friends, my partner and my parents. Always guaranteed friendly service, terrific food and a relaxed but fun environment. Fit for all occasions I can't wait for my next trip."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "The location and interior of this restaurant are fabulous. It is great for a bite to eat when out in Shoreditch but significantly overpriced for the dining experience. The starters are great and pizza dough tastey but it hurts the wallet for what you get. The service was quite slow and the acoustics horrendous. I won't be rushing back!"
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Really great food, went for my birthday over the weekend, table for 7. However, you feel slightly rushed as you can only have the table for 2 hours! I didn't think much of the waiter who served us he was quite rude but the other staff were all really nice."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Food was very rich and salty. Music so loud my partner could not hear me. Probably good for a twenty something wanting to relive their 10th birthday pizza party."
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "The atmosphere in Pizza East is great. Very cool vibe, almost like a NYC feel to it in there. The only thing I would say is that the 'mood lighting' was slightly too moody! I guess it is supposed to be romantic but the lighting was so dim it was hard to read the menu."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Team lunch was made very enjoyable by a relaxed vibe and really good simple food. Pizza was excellent and the meats and deserts were also of a high standard. House red was very drinkable too so no need to spend more unless you want to. Plenty of room so not on top of each other like some other trendy places. Definitely return."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "The place's decor is fabulous, very unique. The pizza was a bit let down, too crispy for me and a bit pricy. Only my friends tried the desert which looked fantastic, but again a bit pricy to this place. Overall I liked it, but don't think I will eat there every week."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Myself and a friend went for lunch on Saturday and I am glad we booked, as it was very busy. We felt a little like we were sat on top of the couple next to us as the tables are placed so close together. The service wasn't great either - our drinks order was mixed up but we put that down to how busy they were. Having said all that, the food was faultless and we didn't have to wait long for it considering. It was good value for money too."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Always have a lovely time here. I underestimated numbers and they accommodated well. The olives are always a winner"
    dined on 16/02/2014
  • "Too big, too noisy, too fast... It's a pity as the food and ambiance were good."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Delicious pizza, nice setting (but very loud music)! Despite the fact that we reserved our table weeks in advance, we had to wait for quite a while before we were seated. Staff were not very friendly as they constantly rush you."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Very average servace... and very average food. The customers make this restaurant, not the staff/food!"
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "The service and ambience were good but the food was very fatty. My partner had pizza which had found greasy. My macaroni and cheese was inedible. There was very little pasta and a lot of creamy cheesy sauce. I do love cheese but it was overwhelming."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Very tasty food and a great atmosphere. Sadly we ordered Olives and garlic bread as a starter and only received the garlic bread. Due to having a few tasty rum cocktails over the road at Rhum Shack and a Beer whilst at Pizza East we forgot to check the contents of the bill when it came to £40 for two pizzas, two beers and a garlic bread. We realised the next morning we must have paid for the olives as well as a service charge and then gave a tip. What stared at a fine plan for a cheap valentines night ended up in drunken debauchery with a price that would make Marie Antoinette choke on her delicious delcious pizza."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Had a wonderful evening at pizza east with my friends, the food was amazing! Best mac and cheese I have ever tried, everyone must try it!!!"
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "Pizza East is simply the best pizza restaurant I've had the pleasure of visitting in London. The pizza base is outstanding, and the combinations of flavours are all very well thought-out."
    dined on 09/02/2014
  • "Good lively atmosphere for a group booking. Good pizza."
    dined on 29/12/2013
  • "I can't believe how busy this place is on a Tuesday night! Despite the restaurant being full, the service never falters - the whole place runs like a well-oiled machine. Great pizzas too - a well-deserved success in vibrant Shoreditch."
    dined on 11/02/2014
  • "Nice food, though a lot of the menu i didn't understand, and i eat out quite a lot! Strange for a pizza place and a little pretentious, but friendly staff and nice food (the cheese board for example is massive and really lovely), You are only allowed 1.5hours on the table though (or two hours if there's 4+ of you) and they keep you to this. Good house wine."
