They all smiled and were extremely helpful, nothing seemed to much trouble. The ambiance was great however it was very noisy where we sat upstairs but apart from that it was lovely. The menu whilst not vast covers most tastes. I had Stone Bass which the waitress recommended, delicious and would definitely order again. Hubby had pork which was beautiful. We both felt it would have been perfect if it had a veg such as green beans with it as quite a heavy meal and needed something to break it up a bit. Early herd menu mon-thurs is a really great deal for the price and quality. Nice to see the menu changes regularly too. Slight downer was an item from one of the main courses was missed but when we asked about it it was brought out very quickly and the owner came over to apologise. Also the comments on the online booking had not been read as we stated that it was a birthday meal and there was no mention of this during our dining experience which I felt would have made it a nice touch. Finally a small improvement would be to provide a pen with the comment card with the bill as we weren't given one so couldn't fill it in. Small touches that go a long way. Welcoming and attentive staff, quite a noisy ambiance when the wine bar fills up. Flavoursome food, brasserie style, well presented. The Early Herd menu is extremely good value. Extensive wine list which was a bit pricey but had some good stuff on it.
