About Pierre Victoire
Tucked away down Dean Street amongst the hustle and the hipsters is the Pierre Victoire, one of Soho’s favourite dining institutions. This little haunt has been serving up rustic French cuisine to loyal regulars for over a decade, and this is still one of London’s favourite places for date nights and cosy pre-theatre meals. Part Provencal, part Art Nouveau, the dining room at Pierre Victoire is decorated with whitewashed walls, chalkboard menus, a vintage piano, eclectic artworks, untreated wooden floorboards and wine bottles stuffed with drippy candles, and the wholesome home-style cuisine and moreish wine is all delightfully affordable. With a steak-centric menu, Pierre Victoire also serves tasty omelettes, creative salads and plenty of seafood.

Pierre Victoire Ratings and Reviews
Food and service very good. Friendly ambience and good value for a central London restaurant.
A much loved restaurant that disappointed
Been coming here on and off for years I always enjoy the food the baked cheese and chicken salad. But found the house red poor, my brother didn't like his steak or mussels, we both struggled to read the menu and hear our selves as it was very noisy . A group arrived with a large dog they were advised that they could not dine inside but the doggy smell was already permeating our meal and they should not have been allowed into the restaurant. Felt it was over priced at £53 for a poor dining experience.
Good but with reservations
My second visit here. Gene early very friendly with nice staff. Starters very good Main course was not as good as usual, with undercooked and rubbery duck. Shame really as previous visit was excellent. Maybe a bad night? Still would go back as I like the place.
Cosy, romantic, friendly
This place is sweet, simple, cosy and serves great food with good wine. A failsafe in Soho which is actually quite a difficult thing to find!
Busy little restaurant, good service
Ate here with friends on a Wednesday evening. Was busy with buzzy atmosphere. Food overall was good but two steak orders mixed up - Bavette ordered medium rare at medium and Entrecote vice versa. Sticky Toffee Pudding too butterscotchy for my liking also.
Good Value French food in central London
Visited this restaurant for an old friends get together. Food delicious and good value. Reasonable selection of wine and house wine very good. Only criticism was that one of the party had to wait some time for his meal after we had all been served.

Bustling yet cosy ambiance. Attentive staff. Vegetarian options I chose were a little bland: the cannelloni could have been more flavoursome. The price was more than I would expect to pay for food of this quality. Overall, an ok experience.

Great restaurant in the Heart of Soho
I am a regular at Pierre Victoire and I’m very pleased to review this restaurant again. Located close to Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus underground stations, you get a great choice of great French cuisine good value with friendly service. The only downside is it does get busy so for most evenings its worth booking a table to avoid disappointment.

The food, wine and the ambience were great. The staff were lovely as well. Great value and I would highly recommend this restaurant
Dean street value
My colleague and I often visit this restaurant despite it being opposite the crosstalk development as the value and terrific food and ambience and service are terrific. Great chef and staff too .
Always an excellent choice
Having eaten here a few times, I can say this is one of those consistently satisfying places to eat. The menu has a LOT of options, and every dish we've ordered has been spot on. The staff are incredibly obliging; we had dairy and gluten free people in the party, and nothing was too much trouble. And that's saying something for a French restaurant where almost everything has butter involved... Lastly, the prices for what you get??? Excellent value.

Great value pre theatre food
I used to visit Pierre Victoires when there was one in Cardiff. When visiting London to see Miss Saigon I thought I would see if the London branch lived up to those wonderful meals in Cardiff. The answer is yes! Excellent wine and a fabulous two course meal for two for under £50 in central London. The food is fabulous and I love the in pretentious shabby chic decor! Perfect!
food was burnt
Cannot say I am satisfied with my visit to this restaurant. The definite turndown came when one piece of meat was obviously burned. I think this is plainly unacceptable
Great Food, appalling service
I had already read bad reviews about the service and I couldnt agree more. They were overbooked, food took for ages, and waiters didnt put much enthusiasm at all in making sure everything was right. However, the food itself was very good value for money
Lovely food, great value!
This is my second time dining at Pierre victoire. Both times the food has been exceptional, especially considering the prices. It is tucked in a hidden corner along Dean street which can prove to be useful on Sunday nights when you want to find a nice quiet place for a romantic dinner. They had a pianist play on Sunday night the first time I was there. Great wine selection. On my second visit, I paired my crab starter and tuna steak with an Alsace Gewürztraminer, which proved to be an excellent combination. Highly recommended!

Excellent soup, very fresh fish, well prepared. Very prompt and friendly service - and outstandingly good value for central London.

Great atmosphere and good choice of food. Pre-theatre menu should go on for longer - at least until 7pm.
Average food on this visit
I've been to Pierre Victoire many times and the se menu is always great value. This time I had the steak and whilst I asked for it to be medium rare, it was still rather chewy. The starter of paella was fine however. I think I've learnt my lesson here and will end to go or other options rather than the steak here. Still a good experience though
Booked a table for four - including an Australian guest. She loved the restaurant, all candles and wooden tables and the food, as did we all. I had the apple salad for starter, very refreshing and mussels for main which were very tasty. A good value restaurant in the heart of Soho, perfect for dinner with friends any night of the week.

Good food, very busy and one of the waiters was not in a good mood. Would still go back to eat the steak tartare.
CONISITENTLY GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE THAT IS ONLY OVERSHADOWED BY THE BUILDING OF CROSSRAIL BUT THATS ONLY TEMPORARY.
Not to be missed
I work in the area and PV is probably one of the best restaurants to go to. The value for the quality is simply exceptional and the atmosphere is lovely. On of the best affordable restaurants in London without a shadow of a doubt.

Great little bistro, excellent quality food, and friendly service. A little gem.
Yet another great evening!
We never fail to have a great time at this restaurant. Whether there are just two of us, or a group, the service is always excellent, the food good, and the wine selection and prices are great. The mussels and Tuna steak which I had were particularly delicious, as was the sticky toffee pudding! the waiting staff are fun, willing to recommend, and never pushy.. We're never rushed to eat our meal or leave, and they're always incredibly obliging when we ask for things. Thanks again for giving us such a fabulous evening. See you again soon!
Great value for money
This was a family outing to the theatre and I chose the restaurant for the reviews and my experience from years ago. The starters were excellent, three chicken livers and one Mussel. Then we all had the "crispy belly of pork" the whole plate of food was delicious with one fault which was the crackling was not crispy. I returned mine, only the skin, and asked for it to be crisped up, I thought a quick couple of minutes in the fryer would have done it but it still came back flobby. The wine was very good value with a "carafe" option which was very dinkable. Delicious puddings. I would return and I would recommend the restaurant.

A wonderful night
The food was lovely and the service was great to much attention just enough to make you feel special. I was not asked to vacate the table for another sitting.
Exceptional as always
This is my 3rd time at Pierre Victoire and it still doesn't fail to impress. There wasn't an empty table in sight (I booked only a couple of days in advance for 8pm) so it's definitely advised to book ahead to avoid disappointment. This restaurant is such a hidden gem and I love surprising my friends. The atmosphere is buzzing, the welcome is warm with a man playing piano near the door. The tables are lit under candlelight with rustic French surroundings. The service is prompt and friendly but not invasive. There is such a wide selection on the menu which is altered with new dishes regularly. The seared scallops melted in your mouth and the prawns with chorizo and chickpeas in a tomato sauce was perfectly portioned as a starter. For the main course the fillet steak was cooked to perfection (rare as requested by my partner) and the lamb was so tender and tasted delicious with the inventive block of sliced dauphinoise potatoes. I really can't fault this restaurant. It's great to take your date, get away from the city after work or catch up with a group of friends over some delicious food.
Tasty meal hidden away
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Service is attentive and friendly. The menu is inviting and you aren't overwhelm by too much choice. Food was very tasty and excelent value considering central localtion. The decor is quaint and cosy.
Reliable pre-threatre dining
Good food, relaxed atmosphere, despite being a pre-theatre diner there was no rush to recover the table. Moules l'escargo style as ever are recommended.
We always eat here when in town and we are never disappointed. The staff could more engaging.
I have had the pleasure of dining at this "little gem" now at least one or twice a month for the last 12 months since I moved to Soho. I usually come by my self and I am always made to feel very welcome. The senior waitress is very professional and experienced. The menu is seasonal and always has many different fresh healthy and delicous choices. I also highly reccomend the deserts. Wine list is good and like the food great value for money.
Was not disappointed having visited the Pierre Victoire in Edinburgh on several occasions. Fantastic value for money in the centre of London.

A great place with romantic ambience and good value for money tasty food, which is why I return again and again...
Lively atmosphere made conversation a little difficult. Service was attentive at a busy time. Some food disappointment - our salads were uninspiring - frites with the moules were too small to dip.
We visited post-Soho Theatre at around 8:45pm on a Saturday and the place was still busy; the piano player started up, playing gentle but recognisable pieces and we were seated and ordered in good time. The menu was varied (there's a set pre-theatre menu but no specials for post-theatre) and the food was very good. The staff were polite and helpful and the background music added just that little something extra. We'll definitely be returning.
A lovely meal
Three of us went, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Couldn't fault anything. Will be back.
