Diner Reviews
  • "Food and service was outstanding. Would definitely go back again. It's a shame we were the only people in there (although it was very early lunchtime) as this made the atmosphere a little flat."

  • "Some friends and I booked a table at Piccolino's, Ilkley, on the Roof Terrace. We had a corner table, which had sofas and so the seating position was a little low, although there were ample cushions to sit on. There we also blankets, which was good as even with the plastic sheeting/windows there was still a cold breeze. The food was good, without being exceptional, but the service was a bit haphazard. My starter arrived after everyone else's as it had to come from downstairs apparently, and was a bit chilly when it arrived. The side salad we ordered also didn't arrive until we'd nearly finished our mains. The waiter was very apologetic and didn't charge us for the salad so he handled the situation well. I'd go back, but in the summer."

  • "My sister and I had a great evening at Piccolino's this NYE. The restaurant was very busy, but the food was fantastic and the service spot on. We haven't stopped raving about it!"

  • "Took my Auntie there for a birthday meal, i have been many of times to this restaurant but for my Auntie it was her first time. Her first impression of the restaurant was that the décor and ambience of the restaurant was lovely and it felt really special. We took my 4 month old baby with us and were offered a suitable table with plenty of room for the pushchair. Service was fantastic and food was lovely as usual. All i would say is that i think there could be more choice on the lunch time menu, they should offer more than 1 pizza to give people a choice but apart from that would definitely recommend and go again"

  • "Had asked for quiet cosy table as was our wedding anniversary, we were given a choice of tables, once comfortably seated we were brought a glass of prosecco each as a congratulatory drink, very very nice touch. It was a lovely meal waiters very knowledgable about menu. Would definitely recommend."

  • "I had heard great things about the Roof Garden and it lived up to its expectations. My guests and I were treated well and well attended to. We didn't have to wait long for food and it was of excellent quality. I will go again."

  • "Had a lovely night out with our ante natal class. The non alcoholic cocktails were great and the staff were very helpful in finding out what was in their menu e.g. Non pasteurised egg in the mayo."

  • "Piccolini on a very hot night - it was good to eat outdoors tho music was blasting too loudly. There was no pasta at all on the menu we were given and we expressed surprise to the waiter. Oh there's another menu he said for downstairs. Seems those eating on upstairs terrace are not usually offered the pasta menu which seems strange. But they obliged and food was Ok."

  • "Haven't been to Piccolino's for years and never to the rooftop area. We were delighted with the service, the food, and the atmosphere. Couldn't have been better."

  • "The roof top restaurant at Piccolino is a stroke of genius. On Summer evenings like we've had this week there is convenient free parking, the scenery of the Wharfe valley is beautiful and the restaurant has a great ambience. The food was delicious. The overhead heating is VERY effective and if you want to wrap up in a blanket as the evening progresses these are provided It's a unique experience for West Yorkshire. Just one criticism from my visit; hot meal, cold plate!"

  • "There was seven of us for an early evening meal on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was buzzing with a good feel and ambience. The service was attentive and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the quality of food very good. I had the lamb for my main course and it was very good. The menu is far reaching and caters well for vegetarians, which suited two of our party. I have been to the restaurant three times now and have never been disappointed. I would recommend it to anyone."

  • "Good: I have never been dissapointed with the food at Picolinos so we were happy that it was excellent as usual. Staff look very smart and trendy. The roof terrace is stunning, very chilled out atmosphere. Love that they have now put extra heaters up there and now have the option of closing the roof if it rains. Bad: No one approached us as we entered the roof terrace, they just looked and carried on serving other diners. I would at least expect to be told that someone will be with us shortly or to get a drink at the bar, we stood there feeling rather foolish. Can attract some pretentious diners but does not put me off enough to not dine here. Overall it was a nice experience and looking forward to going again soon."
