Petersham Nurseries CafeBrilliant foodBrilliant food in a charming and interesting setting.15/05/2013 00:00:00I had never eaten in a conservatoryI had never eaten in a conservatory (greenhouse in USA) before my first trip to Petersham ten years ago. This one is charming with a dirt floor, flowering plants and a working nursery of plants and gardening necessities-all top notch.
My fish had a crispy skin, perfectly cooked with root vegetable stew delectable flavors. The blancmange with stewed rhubarb practically floated into my mouth.
Make sure to order the pitcher of lemonade, freshly made and lightly sweetened with a sprig of mint. The service was informative, relaxed, provided moments of laughter for all. A walk around the nursery plants pleases the eye before a reluctant farewell.16/04/2013 00:00:00Lovely long lazy lunch withLovely long lazy lunch with friends. Red wine carafe excellent value. Such seasonal and bright food. Dogs allowed in to sit with owners which is nice. Was even nice on a drizzly day - would love to go back when the sun is shining!13/04/2013 00:00:00Stunning setting!I've been wanting to visit Petersham nurseries cafe for a long time, and our visit did not disappoint. The setting was stunning with tables arranged in, what is essentially a heated conservatory with ample beautiful looking and smelling flowers/ plants and quirky furniture dotted around. The vegetarian options was limited, with only one vegetarian starter and one main. However, the food was really tasty - fresh and zesty. Portion sizes were reasonable but expensive for what you got. Service was excellent and leisurely, and we didn't feel rushed. All in all a lovely lunch out, definitely one for a special occasion. I'd like to try the tea house next time, as this offered fresh/ tasty looking pastas, soups and cakes at more reasonable prices.29/03/2013 00:00:00Always a pleasure!!We always look forward to going to Petersham. We go all the time!!26/03/2013 00:00:00Romantic!Petersham nurseries cafe was more than I expected. The food was outstanding. My boyfriend, who is vegetarian had plenty of delicious and fresh options. I had the Nettle risotto and the seabass- both flavoursome and the seabass was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend had the spring vegetables which doesn't immediately sound exciting but was a very hearty and filling meal. The wines were also lovely though they do rack up the bill.
Aside from the food. The ambience is lovely with the flowers everywhere- it feel like another world. We'll be back soon I hope.23/03/2013 00:00:00Even better the second time aroundI brought my partner here for his birthday – he was absolutely blown away by the setting, service and food quality.
While the dishes are not cheap – they are absolutely delicious and well worth the money spent for a special treat.
The service was great, our lunch lasted 3 hours and we both appreciated the staff allowing us to relax and not rushing us.
I will be returning!23/03/2013 00:00:00I visited Petersham a yearI visited Petersham a year ago and was keen to find out if the place was still as wonderful as in 2012. I had brought a girlfriend who loves the outdoors, flowers etc., and she was gobsmacked, I had tried to explain about the place, but seeing it with her own eyes was such a pleasant surprise - we are actually thinking seriously on our nex visit to stay in Richmond to be closer and were are looking forward to walking on a dry road the next time - it was pouring that Sunday!
Yours sincerely

This is my favorite restuanrant in london so far. The food is very seasonal and good quality. Waitress are very nice and friendly. I definatly will visit again in the summer.
Note its quite hard to find to restaurant. My taxi driver couldnt find from the postcode i hv given to him. So we have to get off and walk. But its actually just around the corner.14/03/2013 00:00:00Dejeuner champêtreMagical setting, eating in a greenhouse, with earth floors, and wooden tables. Really makes a change from the hustle and bustle of city restaurants. A relaxed atmosphere, and the service is attentive without being over fussy. Wonderful mascapone raviolis and fresh peas to start, followed by roasted guinea fowl on a bed of puy lentils, and warm dark chocolate torte. All delicious!13/03/2013 00:00:00Lovely VenueWe always look forward to going to Petersham for lunch. Our last visit was during the heavy snow fall and the entire Nursery area was beautiful. We were very warm inside enjoying our very tasty lunch while the snow fell. The food is always outstanding and the selection of dishes provides my picky family with lots to choose from. It is a very magical place for all of us.12/02/2013 00:00:00I took my husband here forI took my husband here for a surprise birthday lunch. We had been intending to go for a long time and had never got round to it. It was perfect and we will definitely be going back.07/02/2013 00:00:00A great day out!My mother was visiting from the states and we wanted to treat her to a special day out. Petersham Nurseries Cafe was the perfect venue. We loved dining in the rustic greenhouse filled with antiques, plants, garden accessories and gifts. The meal was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was responsive and friendly. The chef was amenable to making minor changes to menu items to suit our preferences. We loved both the atmosphere and the food. I can't wait to go back.02/02/2013 00:00:00Couldn't have been nicerMy husband took me to Petersham Nurseries for my birthday on a cold January day. It was lovely sitting in the warm glasshouse but feeling part of the outside too. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't have been more attentive (in a non-obtrusive way). The food was just amazing. Every mouthful was just delicious - super fresh, gorgeous ingredients, presented beautifully. We had the Petersham Rose Petal Prosecco to start. It was subtle and fresh. Really different. We loved the whole experience and will definitely be going back.21/01/2013 16:00:00Petersham Nurseries Cafe isPetersham Nurseries Cafe is a very special place. The quiet, secluded location makes for a perfect escape from busy city life, without having to travel far! The food was very tasty and fresh, I was very impressed to see that they do not just rely on the idyllic location and strive for quality in the food as well. I wasn't aware that there is also a tea room, which does not require booking and offers a delicious menu as well, a less expensive option.05/01/2013 16:00:00Relaxed DiningVery good and reccommend to all. Had lunch on Sunday with friends and could not fault on any count. Great place to enjoy very good food, interesnting menu choices - all very well cooked and presented. The location is an absolute bonus - it is just so relaxing sitting in the greenhouse enjoying great food.05/01/2013 16:00:00Good Food, NaturallyIt's always a good idea to manage one's expectations. This particularly applies to Petersham Nurseries Cafe. If you arrive expecting the niceties of classical fine dining you will be disappointed - everything about the place is off-piste. The food is beautifully natural, full of rich flavour - unsurprising, since much of it has been nurtured mere yards away. The service is brisk, professional but friendly. I was very pleased with everything we ate and drank, but the dessert (a clementine sorbet) was the clincher: absolutely outrageous in its intensity both of taste and of colour. We were a party of three celebrating a birthday and the surroundings were ideal. The sort of place you should take your parents to!04/01/2013 16:00:00Fab lunch at Petersham NurseriesHad a fab lunch, food was fantastic with large portions. Service was very good. I will be going back.19/12/2012 00:00:00Excellent service and a reallyExcellent service and a really good well prepared meal21/01/2012 16:00:00
