Diner Reviews
  • "The staff members were very attentive. The Lobster dish was quite ok but do not recommend lobster pasta which did not bring any taste."

  • "We tried the special Wednesday menu and had steak with half a lobster on top! The steak was a bit too medium, We said medium/rare but the lobster was delicious within a lovely light sauce. We also had the panecotta with raspberries and in a grappa sauce. This was excellent. This was our second visit within the month and we will gladly return again."

  • "Knowing we would be in the area that evening, we looked on toptable and found this. It was a delight. We have been to the one in Charlotte Street before but never here. We like this one much more. The service was a bit raggedy, but the food more than made up it. Offering tomatoes on the vine as a pre-dinner nibble was inspired! As pescatarians it was nice to see meat options relegated to second place for once - it's surprising how many 'fish' restaurants still play as much to the carnivores. Everything we ate was beautifully cooked and presented, and they served the best octopus carpaccio I have ever had by a country mile. We will definitely be back."

  • "I searched Toptable for a venue for a business dinner in a central Mayfair location. The Wednesday Surf & Turf menu at Pescatori in Dover Street sounded interesting and we were not disappointed. We were made to feel very welcome, the service was excellent, and the food and wine were very palatable. Will definitely go back."

  • "This was a delicious meal ,very fairly priced. We shared the crab salad and then we shared fritto misto mare. Lovely selection of prawns, octopus, calamari and hake. Husband had panne cotta with fresh raspberries . All wonderful. We will return again. A.B."

  • "Good value meal with the 30% off TT deal. Pasta was good spaghetti with a ragu of pigs cheek was lovely. But the sea bream was a bit over cooked and a bit dry. A bit lacking in atmosphere. Good service. Nice. But nothing special."

  • "Un-intrusive but attentive service. They got it just right. Pasta and fish dishes well cooked but a bit expensive for good (though not exceptionally good) food."

  • "Great place serving excellent food. They did rush us through our food, we had a 20.30 booking and had us paid and out the door within the hour. Other than that I could not fault it and will definately go back."

  • "The menu is perfect for people who love fish & seafood! There are so many options. Very filling indeed. I had a dressed Devon crab for starter & the claw alone was bigger than my hand!"

  • "There were four of us in our party. We were not impressed. The restaurant itself is pleasant but the food was disappointing. Two of our starters (grilled squid and roast razor shell clams) were warm rather than hot, while my soup was absolutely scalding. Two of us ordered the tuna main course. We were asked how we wanted this cooked so were extremely surprised when it came cold as part of a salad. This included a soft boiled egg - also stone cold! I have rechecked the menu and there is no indication whatsoever that this option is served cold. Neither of us would have ordered it had we known that this would be the case. The service throughout the meal was reasonable but we had to ask several times for the bill. We will not be going back."

  • "Excellent quality sea food, friendly service and welcoming ambience. Highly recommended"

  • "We had a great meal at Pescatori restaurant. The food was modern and good - lots of dishes without any chills or peppers which I can't eat. The steaks we had were cooked to perfection, the chips good and not greasy at all, the prawns (which we asked to be separate from the steak) were delicious and the deserts divine !. I strongly recommend it."

  • "We had the lobster menu on a Friday and whilst it is not fine dining, it is very good value for dinner on a Friday in Mayfair. I thought the manager Magda was particularly impressive. She offered us a complimentary prosecco as there was a problem initially. She was always involved in the running of the service."

  • "I dined alone on a Thursday evening and took advantage of the Toptable 30% discount on food offer. This certainly reduces the damage, although wine choices are not perticularly good value, especially if you want less than a full bottle. The food was well up to the standard I've come to expect from this cosy restaurant in Mayfair and I would not hesitate to return."

  • "We really enjoyed our visit to Pescatori. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. We had a nice table with plenty of room to sit comfortably. The food came at sensible intervals and it was delicious. We had a carafe of wine recommended by the waiter which was perfect for our dishes. The atmosphere was cordial and the it was possible to hear everything that was said as the acoustics are good. Overall an excellent dinner in friendly comfortable surroundings and very good value. We will be back"

  • "Food was very tasty with good seafood choices; the decor nice and location excellent. Even with the deal it was a bit expensive but I would definitely go again for a special occasion."

  • "Went for lunch with some friends on a Saturday. Food was delicious, service very friendly but a bit slow. Food rather pricey so grateful for TT offer. Wines were reasonably priced but check bills carefully - as mentioned by other reviewers, we also were charged for an extra bottle of wine and a G&T which we didn't have! We would go here again though."

  • "Our first time at this restaurant. I read some adverse comments about the service in this restaurant and I don't know why. The service we got was fine. The baked sea bream was really good."

  • "With its warm and welcoming interior, "Pescatori - Mayfair" backed up the soothing ambiance with an enticing menu. The food.selections my lunch companion and I chose were delicious, from starter through to dessert; the one reservation relating to my lobster-and-crab burger main whose filling disintegrated upon one bite, a shame considering how tasty it was."

  • "Staff welcoming, restaurant lovely & spacious. Food pricey but we had high expectations. Shared 6 oysters - clearly defrosted but seems normal these days. Tuna carpaccio suggested to share - 4 small slices, no seasoning, bland and uninteresting. Served with 1 tempura oyster, delicious, but pricey starter at £12. Both had 28 day aged ribeye steak - rare (to blue). Mine was medium-rare, bland and unseasoned. My wife's was medium. Staff were poor in coming to check, by the time we gave feedback 15 min later too late to redress, evening ruined. Staff were then great - deducted 1 steak offered dessert but we were done. At £19.95 for the steak alone (no sides - chips etc all extra £3) should be amazing! Poor food for high end prices - let down."

  • "Met up with some friends for a lunch at Pescatori, attracted over local Italian restaurants by their 30% off food offer. Arrived at 1.00pm prompt, yet by 1.25 our order still had not been taken, no bread etc. and we had to ask for drinks. My wife ordered the seared tuna steak, specifically asking for it to be rare. It came out well done so was sent back. Food was OK, but all dishes lacked seasoning (lobster and chilli spagettini lacked any 'punch' of chilli), Fritto Misto was unsalted so rather bland. However, desserts were good and ambiance was great and it is well situated in Dover St. Finally left at 3.30 as service was rather slow, but we were in no real hurry. Not one to recommend, but would give it another try if in the Bond St. area."

  • "It was my first time eating at Pescatori and I was taking a client, so it was a bit of a risk. The food however was very good with a varied menu. It was also reasonably priced considering the location. The only thing that let it down was the service. We ordered bread that never came, but did appear on the bill - when we got the right one having been given someone else's first. Overall though, that was probably bad luck and I would definitely go their again."

  • "Very good service and good food. I loved the spaghetti all'aragosta. The taste is delicate and filling."

  • "We enjoyed a lovely tea time meal here before going on to the theatre. A relative had recommended the restaurant to us. The quality of the food was very good but it would need to be given the prices. The waitress service was also good. It was a little lacking in ambience due to the early time but I can see that later in the evening this would improve. The lighting in the Ladies toilet located downstairs was a little unusual. I would personally prefer something more standard so the lights in the total area remain on whilst you are in there."

  • "Pescatori remains one of my favourite London restaurants. Menu imaginative. Food reliably good. Choice generous. Helpings just right. Service thoughtful and not intrusive."

  • "Typical white tablecloths and traditional Italian style Mayfair restaurant. Food was delicious and staff were quick. Would go again on the deal."

  • "Had lunch with a friend. Food was divine. I had ossobuco as a main course and it was lovely - one of the best I had. Portions were of very good size, to the point that I could not finish the starter and a main course. Service was friendly, however waiters got very flustered as the restaurant became busy. The only bad point is that it took us 15minutes to get the bill, while our waiter was running around as a headless chicken. We would definitely go back and the overall experience was great."

  • "We went for the Lobster Friday offer. I have no complaint at all in terms of food. It's a fair value and tasted good. The service was however so poor. We were welcomed properly at the door. the waitress who served our table seriously need to improve her attitude and work. We were not given the lobster offer at the beginning and waited about 15 mins for asking a Lobster menu. Then we waited another couple of minutes to order. Our bill was not calculated correctly and an extra dessert was charged. Well. Still the lobster spaghetti and burger are both good. If you can ignore their service, then go for it..."

  • "I prefer the decor of Pescatori's sister restaurant in Fitzrovia but we came here first and it was so good that we tried the other. The menu is large. There's something for everyone (like 5-6 different lobster dishes!) But there are still a few veggie options and steak for the carnivores."
    dined on 11/01/2014
  • "We were in London for a long w/e and decided to go to this restaurant after reading the good reviews. We had a very nice evening and the staff were very attentive, and we would certainly go back another time and tell friends about it."
    dined on 21/12/2013
  • "I wasn't promptly greeted when my guest and I arrived. It took an age to be served, even for the drinks, the restaurant was far from full so I didn't understand. The starter (squid and spicy sausage) was alright, nobody noticed for a good while that I had finished it so I was left with my plate infront of me for 25 minutes or so after finishing. When the main meals arrived they were poorly REHEATED (if service had been more aware then this wouldn't have been an issue). The food was nowhere near the wait. I would not recommend."
    dined on 20/12/2013
  • "Lovely restaurant and the food was good. I would recommend it despite the waitresses knocking a glass of red wine over me and in my new bag. They offered to pay the cleaning bill for the clothes, but you can't really do much about the bag."

  • "My wife and I had a really good meal at Pescatori (with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco thrown in). The seafood was really excellent, with a wide menu and service was absolutely first class. Around £135 for 3 courses each with a 500 ml carafe of decent wine. I didn't feel this was at all out of the way bearing in mind the location, the quality of the food and service and the restaurant's ambience."

  • "Went to Pescatori on the free bottle of Presecco offer. My request of a quiet table was met, and we had an enjoyable evening. The food was generous and delicious. The service was attentive. The only niggle was that the wine was expensive and our bottle of White Soave was not chilled enough. My daughter was brought a special happy birthday dessert which was a nice touch - thank you."
