Pearl Restaurant & BarFood was wonderfulI read the reviews on this restaurant which wasnt very good, we were pleasantly surprised the service was really good and the food was divine the only criticisim was that my husband ordered steak medium and it was nearly raw with the plastic wrapper still round the steak apart from that it was worth every penny would definatley go again.04/05/2013 00:00:00Great experience!I went to Pearl for my first date and definitely enjoyed it (my girlfriend even more).
The food is excellent and reasonably priced, the service is excellent and the place is amazing.
I would definitely recommend it...03/05/2013 00:00:00We hosted a dinner for ourWe hosted a dinner for our clients and they cant thank us enough for taking them to Pearl restaurant. Food was delicious, would definitely recommend the restaurant. Close enough to theatres to enjoy pre or post show meal.13/04/2013 00:00:00Food was delicious, serviceFood was delicious, service excellent. Quiet atmosphere appropriate for business meeting.08/04/2013 00:00:00Could be so much betterStunning venue with courteous staff who were efficient and subtle with their service. Food and wine came and went with droplets of relevant information adding to the enjoyment of our evening without being cloying.
The sommelier was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, a necessity given the ample wine selection and our differing food selections.
Both the starters and desserts where fantastic with fresh plump oysters and crab cakes starting us off and ended with a couple of quaint classics, Bannofee Pie and Chocolate Brownie Sundays served in jam jars.
However the mains where very disappointing one of Gilt Bream and the other Grilled Mackerel, these both arrived lukewarm and over cooked, and at these prices this is a crime.
Own goals disappoint.07/03/2013 00:00:00First visit ...........very goodWent for lunch and it was quite busy but the service was excellent, very attentive and professional.
The bar and restaurant has a good atmosphere, tables not too close and good lighting.
The food was very good and I would definitely go again20/02/2013 00:00:00Areal treatTouring in London on Christmas Day we were treated to an outstanding and festive meal with all the trimmings. TheTLC from the staff kept the Christmas feeling alive for us.24/12/2012 16:00:00Christmas TreatThe Chocolate aftenoon tea was a lovely start to the Christmas festivites. Pace yourselves on the scones though if you want more sweet treats from the buffet.21/12/2012 16:00:00Idealy for a business breakfastGreat food, lovely decor and will certainly impress clients.04/12/2012 00:00:00The Pearl restaurant is oneThe Pearl restaurant is one of the top restaurants in London - the food is superb.
There is plenty of space between the tables and the high ceilings and lighting are excellent.
Staff were very good throughout the evening and my guest who has tried most of London's
top restaurants was very impressed and loved the food and the restaurant.
we will both return.
Foodies - well worth a visit ! Congrats chef - I have visited for lunch a few times over the past two years
and really enjoyed dinner last night. The hot raspberries and cold ice creamdessert was delicious !04/12/2012 00:00:00Visited pearl as we were stuckVisited pearl as we were stuck as the place we usually go to had no availability but we are very glad we did. Excellent service, excellent food and a fantastic wine list. We found prices reasonable for the food and portions sizes. The steak was delicious, but one of our members was a vegetarian and luckily they had a few pasta dishes but also an omelette dish which was perfect for us. I would definitely recommend this. Its not very atmospheric unfortunately but you can get over the flat you are one of the only people in there in a large dining room and enjoy your food easily enough.02/11/2012 00:00:00Outsatnding!Our meal was truly outstanding at Pearl. The service attentive and not stuffy and the Sommelier was brilliant and incredibly knowledgable. My lamb was so tender it was like butter. we ate from the 3 course TT menu which was excellent value.07/08/2012 00:00:00Just amazing!I have dined at Pearl before a few years back, and coming back it was just amaing as the first time. The amuse bouche was a delight, the ambience just right, and the fodd exquisite! An absolute must to go to.31/07/2012 00:00:00Excellent food and serviceExcellent food and service as usual. Good choice on set menu29/06/2012 00:00:00First time at PearlGroup of 4 and we were all "Pearl virgins" but having all seen Jun Tanaka work his magic on Saturday Kitchen we were very excited. Food was very good, however we left feeling a little...underwhelmed is probably the best way to describe it. The decor of the restaurant and bar is stunning but it didn't much different in experience to other restaurants we've dined in that have been attached to a good hotel. Still worth a visit though I'm not sure we'll be in a hurry to go back.28/06/2012 16:00:00The srvice was outstanding. The srvice was outstanding. This is a very proper restaurant and the food was amazing! With the set meal it was greta value.15/06/2012 00:00:00A great NightMyself and two friends had a fab night, great food, great service and an exceptional sommelier.26/05/2012 00:00:002nd visit to Pearl which was2nd visit to Pearl which was highly anticipated. It was half full, with refined elegance to compliment the food. The quail with white asparagus and mushrooms starter - absolutely delicious: the quail crispy, mushroom filling lovely. Veal main was also very good - took chef's recommendation of med rare - perfect. Opted for the cheese board and it was worth it - 6 cheeses (with good selection of biscuits but no grapes) washed down by a nice glass of tawny port.10/05/2012 16:00:00We really enjoyed our timeWe really enjoyed our time at the Pearl restaurant in Holborn, and it was such a bonus to meet Jun Tanaka in person. We went for the 3 course £35 which was well worth it. The food tasted perfect and the presentation for each course was beautiful. If there was more offers like this one, then I will return.04/05/2012 00:00:00I went to Pearl in HolbornI went to Pearl in Holborn for dinner with my boyfriend on the TT offer of £35 for 3 courses. The decor and the service are great here, it really feels special. However we were both disappointed with the food! After reading such great reviews we were expecting fantastic food, but I did not like my starter much (rabbit) and the soup which also nothing special. The mains (beef) were fine but again nothing special and mine was a bit chewy. My boyfriend also did not like his tiramisu at all!04/04/2012 16:00:00Pearl Restaurant is high endPearl Restaurant is high end and smart without being stuffy, and the stylish decor is very appealing. Food and service standards are excellent, each plate is a picture and various pre-starters and pre- dessert dishes are provided, but as is typical for this level, it is rather pricey.29/03/2012 16:00:00Absolutely delicious and beautifullAbsolutely delicious and beautifully presented food which if fantastic value with the offer!04/03/2012 16:00:00Pearl restaurant was absolutelyPearl restaurant was absolutely amazing. Fantastic service, delicious food and amazing value with the three courses for £30 offer.27/02/2012 16:00:00Pearl is a great sexy venue...serviPearl is a great sexy venue...service excellent, food good value, especially "extras".
Would recommend19/01/2012 16:00:00Business lunch in Pearl -Business lunch in Pearl - went OK. Slightly fussy food which was OK but not spectacular. Fairly limited set menu. Beautiful surroundings and some nice touches like the little loaves of bread on the side, plus a couple of chocs to go with coffee. Not sure I would recommend after this visit - big hat, no cattle syndrome.17/01/2012 16:00:00
