A word from Paradise by Way of Kensal Green
Paradise by way of Kensal Green. An extensive refurbishment has restored this beautiful pub back to its former splendor. The highlight of this gorgeous building is an opulent yet comfortable dining room, 18th century chandeliers, high ceilings and quirky antiques creates a feeling of dining in a hedonistic French Château.

The dining room offers spacious and stylish surrounding that cater for everything from intimate romantic liaisons to larger group seating’s for celebrations.

The menu is an inventive modern European style of gastro pub fare with traditional, British carte. The emphasis is on good, honest food at reasonable prices.

Diner Reviews
  • "Worth a visit for the pudding. It’s a beautiful pub with a nice team of people but the mains were a little over priced for what they were. I wasn’t keen on the flavours of my dinner… it was under seasoned too. But the fish was cooked perfectly."

  • "There is a good ambience at the Paradise. The food is of good quality. However, the starters and main courses are sometimes small and, if paid at full price, too expensive. Unfortunately, the service is not always good. We had to wait more than 1h for our main courses. Despite the manager offering complimentary drink and 1 dessert was taken off the bill, we were left quite disappointed. Hope things get better!"

  • "We had a great meal here. The staff are attentive but not annoyingly so, the food was delicious and the decor is really lovely. Highly recommended"

  • "Delicious food, excellent service, very pretty decor."

  • "Food was beautiful ( but starters we definitely too small ). We had to wait over half an hour for starter and we weren't offered any more than one slice of bread each. Having said that, this was the only negative. Service was friendly and the place was beautiful. With the too table deal the value was just about right. But after dining in fine dining restaurants in Mayfair, I think without this deal their pricing is way too high!"

  • "Fantastic Sunday roast as normal. However it was a slight shame that the cut of beef had changed. It was still succulent but I still preferred the previous cut. However I will be back!"

  • "I love the paradise and have been many times for evening drinks. We decided to try out its Sunday lunch menu. We were left feeling bitterly disappointed, We sat at our table for over 30 minutes before our drinks arrived.. And when the food finally arrived the 3 pork bellys were very fatty and had no crackling, the vegetables were so underdone they might have well have been raw! The only saving grace was the Yorkshire which was excellent and the gravy! So disappointing as at nearly £17 each, we were hoping for a better feast."

  • "Been before only for dinner and loved the Sunday lunch experience: it's a beautiful room and the roast beef was lovely. We'll come again!"

  • "This is by far one of the best places fort Sunday Roast in London. The last couple of times I've been there the food has been amazing."
    dined on 16/02/2014
  • "Busy restaurant with a big selection of Sunday roasts. Nice place to spend a few hours at a weekend. Service is relaxed but friendly. The atmoshpere in the back room can sometimes be a little cold though"

  • "The food was fabulous, great quality ingredients, well presented and full of flavour. The decor was inviting yet chic. Friendly service.Could not fault it!"

  • "Liked the Paradise as always. Despite there are less dishes to choose from the menu, we enjoyed the evening and the food once again. TT offer is a great deal!"
    dined on 22/01/2014
  • "It was packed on Saturday night, and this was reflected in the service. Warm flat prosecco, swiftly replaced by champagne. Oyster order was forgotten about, had to remind them and they arrived only just before mains. Mains were both very good fish dishes. The prosecco was still on the bill, but was immediately removed when prompted. Staff were well meaning, jut a little overwhelmed. I'll stick to mid-week from now on."

  • "Excellent food and setting. I keep coming back every month for the past three years."
    dined on 21/01/2014
  • "Having looked forward to enjoying a Birthday Dinner on Tuesday evening our meal was ruined by dreadful service. The waitress was blase, messed up our order and gave us a bill for double the amount it should have been. She then gave us another bill which was still £40 too much. Third time lucky! To make matters worse she was not at all apologetic."

  • "I love this place and keep coming back. The menu changes constantly the food and ambience is lovely for friends or a romantic dinner."
    dined on 19/07/2013
  • "I was really disappointed with the service at this place. The staff were very slow and ignored us despite the fact that there were only 6 people in the actually dinning area. There was a limited selection on the menu and the food was not that impressive either. I wont be going back to this place in a hurry."
    dined on 01/01/2014
  • "Food was good although the cod was very small for the price more like a starter size. The beef roast was nice, meat was tasty and not chewy. When we asked for salt and pepper, horseradish and steak knives the waitress had an attitude about it which is unacceptable."
    dined on 05/01/2014
  • "No further comment - everything is great, as always."
    dined on 27/11/2013
  • "I have to say for the quality of the food, service and venue at Paradise brings me back in a hurry. They are consistent every time and never fail to keep their menu fresh and seasonal and this is certainly reflected in the taste. Cant wait to go back and I highly recommend."
    dined on 26/11/2013
  • "Had a lovely meal with a friend down from Scotland. Only slight issue was that the scallops were not very hot and really on the edge of being uncooked. Edible but another 10/20 secs and they would have been perfect. The place was busy for a Tuesday night, maybe due to the amazing 50% of food offer. This offer didn't affect menu choice nore the way we were looked after. Am going back this evening, so I hope the experience will be matched!"
    dined on 26/11/2013
  • "This was my third visit to the Paradise. The food as before was very good and the service attentive. With the Toptable offer the evening turned out to be very good value."
    dined on 20/11/2013
  • "We took some friends who had not been there before and they loved it. Food was excellent as was the service and ambience. Good value it you can get a percentage off the food. Always prepared to return."
    dined on 13/11/2013
  • "I love the decor and the atmosphere at Paradise, the tall ceilings, the bar, the paintings etc but the service can be a bit patchy ( and it was) and the odd dish can go wrong (overcooking a steak should be a criminal offence and I would have sent it back on any other day...) but the scallops and the hog board were great, the matchstick potatoes were fab, and the salted caramel ice-cream was delicious ( although the butterscotch was a little bland) The wines are expensive and even with the 50% food discount, the bill was over £210 for 5 of us."
    dined on 13/11/2013
  • "Good value with 50% off top table deal. Good gastro pub-- retains pub atmoshpere rather than fine dining. Friendly service. Very striking Victorian dining room with high ceilings which helps with sound. Oautstanding for what it is -- I have eaten here several times (almost always on your deal) and have never been disappointed. Robin Kent"
    dined on 11/11/2013
  • "Really pretty room with quirky decor in a huge Victorian pub. The meal was good and service excellent and atmosphere quite buzzing for early on a Tuesday evening. Beautifully cooked sea bass although greens and pumpkin a bit al dente for me. The chips are just perfect!"
    dined on 05/11/2013
  • "Now winter is drawing in, a Sunday lunch is amazing at Paradise. Generous portions, extra Yorkshire puds on request, all super tasty. Only downside to me was the number of small children present and service was actually too quick - sometimes it's nice to linger over a lunch without feeling like they're trying to rush you in and out."
    dined on 29/09/2013
  • "For the price I think I could have got just as good a meal down the high street at Wetherspoons pub...and it would have cost only £10 one small slice of pork, with a huge slab of slimy fat on top and some crackling, vegetables were good, roast potatoes were similar to what I'd get in a pub...gravy was ok, but again, nothing special in taste terms. I was expecting a similar experience to what I get at Hawksmoor Seven Dials (for the Roast Beef on Sundays) or The Duke of Wellington in Crawford St, Marylebone (where the lamb roast is exceptional). I was disappointed! For the hour each way travel and £20 I'd have expected better from a highly rated gastropub. In future I'll take the beef or lamb if I ever want to travel so far!"
    dined on 28/10/2013
  • "Great little spot. Ecclectic ambiance and atmosphere. Would certainly recommend."
    dined on 25/10/2013
  • "The staff at Paradise could not have been more wonderful. Both of the waiters who served us were extremely polite and friendly. Everything we tried was delicious but of note were the beer battered halloumi with matchstick fries and the apple and sage potato cake. The venue itself is also beautiful. The only downside is the location but definitely worth a trip here!"
    dined on 10/10/2013
  • "Am lucky enough to have the Paradise as our local, always enjoy eating there. It's a great restaurant (and pub), good food, great atmosphere."

  • "Great meal...but rather expensive for what it was!"
    dined on 11/10/2013
  • "Went for Sunday lunch just as they opened with a toddler. Service was great & very quick, had a very nice Sunday roast. Gorgeous pub, would love to go back for a proper night there minus the kid! But they were very child friendly,"
    dined on 06/10/2013
  • "Brilliant lunch - do not be put off by the £17/18 price tag - it is a far superior meal to the regular West London "gastro pubs" serving sub-standard roasts for £14. Pay the extra and enjoy beautifully cooked rib of beef with a great selection of vegetables, duck fat roasties (veggie option available) and rich home made gravy. They also offer complimentary yorkshire puddings! The crab and spicy guacamole starter was phenomenal - so much crab meat! I was also impressed with the selection of wines by the glass. The final bill was £80 including wine. All in all it was a great lunch and I will definitely be returning and recommending to friends."
    dined on 22/09/2013
  • "Went to Paradise for Sunday lunch with friends thinking they would love it as much as I do. Unfortunately the usually super efficient and friendly service wasn't quite up to scratch - they asked what we'd like to drink before giving us a wine list, long wait to order. When the food arrived it was as delicious as ever but somehow the atmosphere and service felt different. I hope this was a one off and it'll be back on form next time we visit."
    dined on 22/09/2013
  • "I have already phoned you about the fact that your website did not specificslly say the discount was not available on the time we booked for it did not say it was either not a complaint but we did not eat there because we did not know about the no discount until we arrived told it was not unusual thet people booked in error answers to 2 are not applicable but had to fill in for you to receive"
    dined on 21/09/2013
  • "We had a really memorable meal on what was an evil evening weather wise. The staff were their normal impressive selves and the food as usual was to die for in particular the Cardmon Ice Cream which had to be eaten to be believed. A great experience as always and well worth the visit."
    dined on 17/09/2013
  • "Paradise by Way of Kensal Green has great service and ambience. The food is well prepared and imaginative. We went on a Saturady evening for a special occasion and could not fault any part of the experience. Not the place to go if you want a quiet or romantic evening out, the bar in the room next door is a major nightspot in the area."
    dined on 14/09/2013
  • "I went to the Paradise for Sunday lunch with my family, which included a child of 8. The dining room is quirky and fun, the staff are friendly but lacking a bit in efficiency. All the adults ordered the Sunday roast which was ok, although the Yorkshire puddings were cold and they forgot the potatoes (which they did eventually bring). Considering Sunday lunch is often a family affair, I was surprised that there were no children's option, although they did offer half portions. I felt that for a pub restaurant the bill was rather expensive and I'm not convinced that it represented very good value for money. I doubt I'll go again."
    dined on 15/09/2013
  • "Food arrived cold/warm waitress forgot our order of Coke twice (we didn't bother re-ordering) roasts were circa £18 - quite expensive but great atmosphere and nice staff"
