This was my second evening in a month eating with friends at the Turl Street Kitchen. The décor is functional but,at least in the front room, the tables are well spread apart and conversation is easy. But, the food is what one comes here for. The pork broth was just a tad too salty for my taste to be classed as excellent, but warm, filling and moorish. Excellent location. Good views from restaurant . Afternoon tea was good and the scones were warm. What more can I say.

The food was lovely, but the amount of vegetables seemed somewhat sparse when compared with the meat portions. Our chicken dish, with mashed potato and green beans was very tasty but looked small. It would have benefitted from additional veg such as broccoli etc within the price of the dish. Another concern was trying to tackle chicken on the bone when in a bowl rather than a plate as it is difficult to cut into when the cutlery has to be held higher up. I know it is common for many eateries to use bowls but it is not always practical when trying to cut certain foods. The waitress who served us was very good and an asset to the Living Room. ...More
