  • "Loved the sharing plates & combination of ingredients. The cocktails were good too. Would return again in a heartbeat."

  • "Impeccable service, tasty and sophisticated food, great products"

  • "turned up a bit early, table wasn't ready so went next door to the bar to wait after being told we'd be called when ready. didn't get a call, turned up 20 min after the booking time (9.30pm) and found out the table was waiting. not great but food was good."

  • "Exceptional veggies, not comparable to any other restaurant."

  • "We came for the food and weren't disappointed by it. Each dish was a great combination of flavors and was delicious. Service was slow and rushed. Place was loud and the music added to the noise with its strong base."

  • "Excellent food - diverse and interesting flavours- , friendly and helpful staff, a really enjoyable lunch, worth the money."

  • "Staff very welcoming, friendly and pleasant. The venue, even though it was full with (talking) guests, has good acoustics so it does not become a chicken farm, where chatting becomes impossible. For dinner we (4 people) ordered 10/11 starters or dishes to share, to have a more extended tasting experience. Lovely dishes where amazing flavours were joined together, leaving you wanting more. Obviously there will always be a dish that won't hit the spot, but that is due to individual taste and not to how it is prepared. Will definitely eat here again and recommend to others."

  • "Have been here quite a few times and expect to pay top dollar for top food! Had a number of the sharing dishes, octopus and pork excellent, mackerel served warm but with a cold sauce and this did not work very well. Also venison was a measly 3 thin slices and not worth the price. Overall though I will return as food is generally excellent."

  • "Have frequented and loved Ottolenghi in Islington for many years and recently had the opportunity for the Nopi experience. This did not fail to impress: we were served deliciously fresh and creative dishes thoughtfully prepared to impart many flavours and aromas from a wide range of ingredients, herbs and spices. Relieved to be seated near the window though, as other parts of the restaurant seemed very noisy! Will come again and again ..."

  • "Spectacular food. Tasty, light, superbly presented. Best dinner I had in London. Ever."

  • "Having eating at Ottolenghi Islington several times we wanted to try NOPI. We were not disappointed - Fabulicious!!! There were 4 of us and the waiter picked our meal from the sharing menu. Every dish was wonderful."

  • "Such lovely food. A great choice of unusual ingredients, so we ordered loads! Service was so quick that it was all gone far too soon. It felt healthy though and we weren't overly full. The drinks bump up the bill considerably; we couldn't ignore the cocktails - but should have probably. Nice touch that water and bread are complimentary, though the 10% service charge is mandatory. Not that I begrudged it at all - would have left at least that anyway. I do wish there were a branch closer to Cardiff. In fact come and open up in Cardiff....please."

  • "NOPI is a great place to dine in a wonderful setting with lots of small plates as well as entrees. Ottolenghi is a creative genius and the food is well prepared, with unique flavors and tastes. Both meat and vegetable dishes are one of a kind."

  • "for a restaurant that prides itself on the quality of its ingredients and the care with which they are prepared and served, the ambiance of NOPI creates a sense of split personality. The food is so good, but the experience is marred by the insistent beat of bad synthesized music that almost prevents conversation. Our party of four agreed that we would not eat there again, although we loved everything else about the restaurant."

  • "very fine cooking , the meals just spicy, true ambiance,"

  • "Comfortable atmosphere. Simple but enticing breakfast menu. Really enjoyed our brunch, although as lunchtime approached the waiter kind of rushed us out by giving us the bill unprompted. Will return."

  • "Bardzo polecam to miejsce ze wzgledu na doskonałe jedzenie i miłą atmosferę!!!"

  • "We enjoyed a delicious lunch of proscuitto followed by four sharing plates - crushed beetroot, spiced cauliflower, octopus and venison. All beautifully presented with very distinctive flavours. The portion sizes are on the small side. We also had dessert - chocolate and lychee sorbet, both gorgeous. We had a glass of wine each and finished with a shot of the Kings Ginger liqueur. All in all, top class food in a restaurant with a vibrant, lively atmosphere. We left feeling satisfied, but not full by any means, though we felt we had eaten healthily. The service was excellent and the toilets are certainly worth a visit! The bill was £91, including an optional 12 1/2% service charge, so expensive in our terms, but Ok for a special occasion."

  • "the food was totally delicious and just the right amount of it. the cocktails too were super tasty. the atmosphere is really fun and the long, commual table down the centre of the room with high stools makes for lively and unusual dining. if i had one complaint (at the risk of sounding like a geriatric), the rock music that blasted from speakers all evening was so loud, i spent the evening bellowing at my (selectively deaf) boyfriend across the table. the only person i could hear with any great clarity was the irritatingly mopey and whingey girl to my left. but if you have excellent hearing and like japanese-ish fusion tapas with delicious cocktails, i would definitely recommend this place for a date or dinner before a night out."

  • "I met friends for brunch at Nopi this weekend, mainly because I'd had an outstanding lunch there a few weeks ago and was keen to go back. Sadly breakfast wasn't as impressive. We waited ages for food (and they forgot one of our dishes even then) and when it came the portions were tiny and my eggs were cold. Good coffee though. We were also rushed out at the end, despite the fact they had delayed our meals for so long. What a shame. I can highly recommend for lunch/dinner but would avoid breakfast in the future."

  • "We were here for breakfast. The staff was friendly (even though we were 30 minutes late) and the food was great."

  • "We have been to Nopi a few times and have always had a great time. The food is incredible so we were looking forward to another Ottolenghi experience BUT..... the music was completely inappropriate to the ambience. It would have been fine if we were heading off afterwards to a club but looking around at the demographic I cant imagine anyone would have been checking out the nearest hotspot. Then the service was officious, totally impersonal and it seemed they couldn't wait until we had put our forks down for them to whip away our plates - no such opportunity to mop up the last bits of amazingness with your bread!! Sadly the fantastic food was overshadowed by the craziness of the music and waiting staff."

  • "Tasty options for Mediterranean tapas in central London, there are plenty of tasty dishes to share"
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "this is definitely food that is challenging to replicate at home, from the sheer number of ingredients in each dish - which for me makes it the ideal restaurant experience. Because of the price it is probably a special occasion place, but it is worth every penny."
    dined on 03/04/2014
  • "This is the third time I have dined at NOPI and again, I wasn't disappointed. This time was for brunch - I had the black rice, coconut and mango dish while my friend had the French toast with spices, yoghurt and fruit compote. They were both delicious, a nice change from the usual brunch dishes that are available across London. Service was excellent and they are so efficient, even though I have visited during busy times I have never had to wait for my table to be ready. Highly recommend."

  • "I went for a second business lunch with a vegetarian colleague and was not less delighted than the first time. The food is to die for - completely delicious original tasty and exciting, and the staff really calm pleasant and helpful. I will go again and again without doubt my new favourite venue."
    dined on 02/04/2014
  • "very good dining experience. next time, I think I'll skip the mains and go for a selection of shared starters...they were the best part of the meal and we had a hard time choosing (you're really spoilt for choice there!)."
    dined on 02/04/2014
  • "And good service but it was a bit cramped as the tables by the window where were seated were so close together. Guests had to actually move their own tables to get in and out. It was not a good situation and not conducive to a comfortable experience. Also there was no finesse nor excitement. A couple of slices of bog standard bread and olive oil to start seemed so inadequate for what is considered to be a culinary emporium. Coffees were served without a little something on the side to give a bit of wow. In fact not even a bowl of sugar was placed on the table not that we wanted any but it was another "lack" in what could have been a tremendous meal. The overall dining event needs a few delicate touches to make it a really great moment."

  • "The food at NOPI is simply outstanding. Each dish surpasses the last. We shared small plates, delicious double-cooked chicken, superb sole, fresh vegetables. We arrived with high expectations, given NOPI's reputation, but everything we found there surpassed those expectations. I would recommend it to anyone interested in good food at decent prices, but especially to anyone like me who knew London in the 60's when food everywhere, except for Indian, was inedible. That London is gone, and NOPI makes it clear."

  • "I had read reviews on here about indifferent staff, small portions and expensive bills so went with a degree of trepidation overcome only because we love the Islington restaurant. The staff were very but not too attentive from start to finish and neither rushed us nor left us unattended for long periods. The food was excellent (no surprise there) and we ordered 4 dishes to share. I thought this might be too little given the reviews but our waiter explained we could always order more, Imagine my surprise when 4 plates arrived with more than adequate portions arrived. We could probably managed with 3 plates. So it was left to the bill to ruin the evening and guess what? That was reasonable too. We felt it was good value for the west end"

  • "Excellent food and very good service. Very unusual wines which went wonderfully with the food. Enjoyed the plain interior and quiet enough to chat with a friend. Well done Nopi"

  • "Went to NOPI with high expectations as we are fans of the Ottolenghi cookbooks. Could have been better. Coats were taken and then misplaced resulting in confusion at departure. Wait staff did not know basic facts concerning the menu options; this should be something imparted to the servers on a daily basis, without the server needing to go back to the kitchen to find out just what some of the more exotic ingredients actually were. Menu was a little daunting in terms of having a sufficient number of "confort items" for the less adventurous in the dining universe. Our table was not ready upon arrival, although this was compensated for with some free nibbles at the bar. Might try again, but might not."

  • "We were at Nopi for breakfast on Saturday, ordered one almond croissant and poached egg on toast with mushrooms. It took them 45 minutes to bring the breakfast whereas all other customers who have arrived after us were all served. We were not impressed, although the food was really good quality and the ambience was great."

  • "Our dining experience was just perfect at NOPI. I would recommend it to everyone. Are you looking for a romantic dinner for two or do you want to celebrate something with your friends? Both occasions are fine to visit NOPI. Order several small dishes and share! The delicous combinations of flavours are just what you need after a busy day of visiting and enjoying London. Highly recommended and friendly staff."
