Nobu - LondonSuperb Food, Drink and Service!I have dined here a number of times before but this meal was by far the most enjoyable! The service we received was outstanding. We did what I would strongly recommend anyone to do when dining here and told the waiter to bring us what he felt was a good choice! We asked for a couple of dishes we knew we wanted and left the rest up to him and wow were our expectations exceeded!?
Truffle gyoza, langoustine skewers, soft shell crab sushi, the famous black cod and sashimi to die for!!!
I'm not normally that into deserts but was persuaded to have one and it was simply heavenly...apple crumble with peanut and salted caramel ice cream!

Anyhow, last week we went to Nobu Park lane in London. And, the food was as good as we remembered. OK, it is possible to find as good sushi in more restaurants but I have never ever tasted anything as good as the Nobu yellow tail sashimi. I am truly hooked on it! I love different types of food but there is nothing I have tried that is as good as that starter. Must try: yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, miso "chips", pork belly, negi toro (almost stole the night), lobster tempura salad platter, any salad with matsuhisa dressing and did I mention the lychee sake :). Overall, a memorable meal with wows from my group for the taste of most dishes (clearly sourcing top-quality raw materials is a priority here). And if weren't for the persistent "Yes, but it's so expensive"' then overall general reviews would be glowing! Ironically, every person who has said the above to me about the price of NOBU, has never even been there! Maybe it's just latent jealousy! Good things cost more. Value is always in vogue. I go by this: Value = Cost / Product. Yes, you will pay 50% more to enjoy a great NOBU dinner. But with NOBU you'll have a meal that is exceptional, at least TWICE as good as that other place that isn't so expensive. You get what you pay for! The waiter suggested that we try the taster menu, which includes 6 of the chef's signature dishes. Each of the courses was incredible and we were very excited after each one to see what came next. The highlights were the blackened cod - which is marinated in Miso for 72 hours, the Wagu beef teppanyaki and the coffee and ice cream dessert. The Sushi and Sashimi selection was also very good. The service was very quick and attentive. The only (very small) negative would be that we were told we would get 2 dessert courses, however, one of these is coffee which neither of us actually drink. The manager though, very dissapointing, I made a mistake when ordering the dessert and said the name of the dessert that was just right below in the menu. As I didn't like that one at all I had to pay for both desserts. Fair enough as it was my fault, but we are not coming back.
