A word from Missoula Milton Keynes
Missoula is not a restaurant, nor is it a theme bar, nor a music club or cocktail lounge - but we do all of these elements beautifully.

We take our name from the town of Missoula, within the state of Montana in North America, so our menus are a journey into something new to the high streets of Britain, delicious dishes inspired from 'the big sky country' - Bison, Trout and amazing beef steaks and ribs, coupled with sides such as American style salads, skin on fries and twice baked potatoes.

We offer a fantastic range of cocktails, alcoholic milkshakes, beers and wines - some new flavours, mixed with some American classics, in an atmosphere brought alive by the recognisable sing along melodies or American based music; live or background, and within stunning authentic Montana interior design which creates an environment that is completely new but really welcoming.

Diner Reviews
  • "a great little eating house thats meets the gap between a burger bar and a restaurant. Dont expect to much and you won't be dissapppointed. The menu reads better than it produces. Don't expect to have anyone meet you when you come in. We were a party of 10, pre booked and waited at the bar for 5 minutes before they even acknowledged us , only to be told we had to go upstairs where we eventually found a server."

  • "Rather average all round really. Food ok, service good. Table for 2 placed in the middle of the room! Waiters bustling past on both sides. Not right for a romantic meal. Desserts overpriced and not much choice. Don't think I will be returning."

  • "Average service, average food, reasonably cheap wouldn't rush back."

  • "I booked a table to celebrate my husbands birthday. I made that clear in the table booking and asked if the restaurant could acknowledge his birthday. This didn't happen which was disappointing. The waiting staff were very attentive towards my 2 year old daughter and the manager made her a fruit cocktail to drink which was nice. My daughters food was sausage and chips, but the sausages were over-cooked and way too hard at the ends. My ribs were lovely and my husbands Beef rib steak was melt in the mouth."

  • "Nice restaurant. Friendly atmosphere. Good service overall, but had to wait a bit longer than I'd have liked to for our drinks. Had to chase them up with the restaurant manager. Food courses were spaced out nicely to suit the occasion that I was there for, but I'd be concerned if you were going there to have a quick meal and leave as I think you'd end up being there longer than you'd anticipated. Took a while to pay our bill as well. Overall the food was very nice and very reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Service just needs a little push and it would be perfect. Would definitely recommend it to others."

  • "Really great experience for our 1st time at Missoula. 2 for 1 cocktails was a real bonus! Great cocktails too! Hanging skewers were lovely, just needed a few more veggies in the side bowl. Nice atmosphere and real value. Great experience."

  • "Felt genuinely different to the usual new restaurant in Milton Keynes. Superb service from very well informed waiter and general laid back atmosphere. Unusual and excellent beer selection and good menu which benefits from not being overly long and fussy. Food quality was excellent."

  • "I went for a meal with my best friend, and the quality of the food was amazing. We both loved sampling the cocktail menu. And as these were on 2-4-1 until 9pm - we sampled a fair few! The waiter was very good and made cocktail suggestions based on our favourite alcohol/tastes."

  • "For meat lovers everywhere ! The food just tasted so good and a great beer and wine list , we even had pudding which again was brilliant , waiter couldn't do enough for us . Will be back again next week in fact and have booked for the week after too !"

  • "Went for Valentines Day. Perfect meal & good food/drink Will return."

  • "Went on valentines night and had the set menu. The starter was stacked with prawns and the Steak was cooked to perfection. My misses really wanted a strawberry cocktail but there wasnt any on the menu, so the waitress asked the barmen to make a new one and it was delicious, exactly what she wanted :)"

  • "Have eaten here 4 times now, 3 dinners and a breakfast, and will keep coming back if the standards remain the same! Food is lovely, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is just right, lively downstairs, with enough music upstairs to enjoy but not have to shout over! My only hope for the future of this restaurant is that they plan to occasionally change up their menu. Love their food, but after a while the choices are going to run out!"
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "The candle lit table, complete with single red rose and champagne reception was lovely - popcorn while you waited for your starter and a gorgeous selection of food from the Valentines Set menu. I had scallops to start, cooked to perfection, and mouth watering mushroom and chicken with mash for main, to top it all off with the biggest, mouth-wateringly delicious huge slab of chocolate fudge cake. Our glasses were never empty and the waiters were really lovely"

  • "Loved our first visit to this restaurant. Great menu, good service, plenty of space and a pretty good experience first time around."

  • "Table was 40 minutes late, we weren’t asked if we wanted drinks through out the meal we had to get up and ask a waiter, food was dry. I would not recommend."

  • "Simple men of waffles and scramblers but great value with free bottomless filter coffee. No kids breakfast menu but my 1 and 4 year old loved the fruit waffle. Breakfasts half price in January. Decor is really cool too. A great addition to the Hub. Classy joint!"
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "When handed the menu the waiter asked if we were there for a special occasion I told him for my daughters birthday, there were 4 of us, the food was good and cooked beautifully, we all had different meals and all enjoyed them, drinks and water glasses filled if they were empty, after ordering desserts the waiter arrived with lit candles in my daughters dessert and brought a drink from the bar staff with a sparkler attached both making us smile, the food and the service were both great and we will be going back."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Missoula, the food, drink and service were outstanding, the staff very friendly and my steak was cooked to perfection. The only thing that spoilt the evening was that the live music was far too loud and we found ourselves shouting to hear each other. Had there been more in our party, I doubt anyone would have been able to speak to anyone else other than the person next to them. But having said this, we will be returning, hopefully with only the background music playing, as it was when we first arrived."

  • "This was my first visit and I chose it because it had everything from Soup and salad as an option through to main courses and deserts, so whatever my appetite there'd be something to eat. I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed and the service excellent - attentive without being over bearing."

  • "Friendly, helpful staff with good attention to detail. Food was prepared and served in a timely fashion with no hurry to eat to make way for other diners. Excellent range of cocktails and American and Canadian lagers. Plush decor with music not too loud with a nice touch having a live singer downstairs in the bar. A very good dining experience all round."

  • "I think shows like Man v Food have taught us to associate American dining with generosity and down to earth, unpretentious dining. We expected such generosity at Missoula but sadly, it was not so. My main course of ribs was tasty but woefully inadequate, and largely hidden by a substantial handful of battered onions, similarly tasty, but hiding the immediate disappointment of the meal. The baked potato which appeared with it was only a half portion, smothered in a tasteless cheese. surely they could stump up a whole potato! My son felt his bison burger was bland. My husband did not mind his bison burger, but then, he will eat anything! The chicken wings (starter) was overcooked and dry, and the chips were soft and unremarkable."

  • "A fabulous meal in a wonderful setting. Cocktails were fabulous and I would certainly recommend the Amaretto Sour! Great service from Alex and the team. See you again soon"

  • "I booked a table for my birthday at the new Missoula Milton Keynes this weekend. Never been so disappointed at a restaurant before, there was hardly anything available on the menu, which was hilarious as it was a Saturday night and just opened!? The starter was nice and a fairly big portion, the mains took over an hour to come out, and my friend had to wait a further 20 minutes as they forgot her salad, she had to return it twice as it had ingredients missing! The staff did not know what to do or to handle the situation, lots of other tables were complaining too. The food was mediocre, you can find much better burgers at gbk. The assistant manager tried to help by offering free drinks but the damage was done. Terrible experience, avoid."

  • "We visited on a Saturday evening, table booked for 830pm. We arrived a little earlier to enjoy a cocktail at the bar and they didn't disappoint! Disappointing that a few of the starters, main courses and desserts were not available - it is a relatively new restaurant and we really did want to try as many different dishes as we could. Live music from downstairs was a little too loud and then later upstairs had its own music but you could still hear music from downstairs! Starter arrived within 5 minutes of being ordered! Unfortunately we waited over 45 minutes for our burgers. Worth the wait though, cooked to perfection and lovely and juicy. Pricing for mains reasonable. Sides, starters and desserts expensive"

  • "The atmosphere at the restaurant, even at 7:30 was great, it was relaxed with a fantastic singer playing downstairs. The waiter was pleasant and made good conversation with us on arrival making us welcome We did however have a bad experience with the kitchen being that more than 2 mains had to be returned In speaking with the manager who was extremely apologetic and offered us the food as complimentary we were assured that the problem with the pass was only affecting our table and in all honesty in what we observed from other tables we were in agreement. I can say that apart from the food the rest of our experience at the restaurant was very pleasant, unfortunately it was e food that was the draw to this restaurant."

  • "Was very suprised as the food was tasty and much better quality than served up as this restuarant's previous incarnation as the Living Room. Have eaten here twice now and making a meal of a selection of the "superior sides" was great. Food enjoyable on both occasions. However both times you are also met with a list of what's not available. Not so good. Odd the way the large glasses of wine areserved - in glasses that feel like stemmed water glasses that are frankly overfilled - same wine quantity, larger glass please. Also when booking, be specific about what table you want and make it clear you don't want to be any where near the loos - its like dining in a corridor. I stood my ground first time & eventually got seated elsewhere."

  • "Post Christmas Family lunch-time treat. Nice decor and very attentive staff. Surprisingly quiet as it was during xmas holiday. We all had a burger which was excellent. Plenty of fries and we had the addition of sticky chicken fingers which were fabulous. Really good value for money, we were all hoping to have dessert but couldn't manage it as we were all full from the main. Would definitely go again and recommend to friends."

  • "We booked here last minute for 5 course meal. All 5 courses were lovely, they changed the Amuse Bouche to a lovely beef canapé as neither of us liked salmon. Starters were tasty and well cooked (scallops and beef cannelloni). Nice sorbet to cleanse the pallet before a good portion of fillet steak, well cooked with tasty potato crochet and sauce. By pudding we were about stuffed but managed to fit in Creme Brûlée (with rhubarb) which was lovely just a bit disappointed it didn't have a crispy top!! Overall a great experience. Good food, nice staff, good atmosphere."
    dined on 31/12/2013
  • "Food was superb and not too badly priced for what you get. Ambience was brilliant, the place was very lively and there was a live singer who was also very good and added to the great atmosphere. This place would be brilliant for a big group meal or just going out with family. If you're after a meal with that little bit something extra/special this is the place to go in MK."

  • "Good quality food, good service, nice atmosphere, clean premises. Would definitely recommend and will return. Only problem is difficulty parking."

  • "Arrived, but was told I had no reservation dispite showing the email confirmation recieved from Toptable. Restuarant denied having any reservation through your website that evening. I won't be returning Missoula or use Toptable again - best policy always book direct."

  • "Hi, We knew taking a punt coming here could be a bit of a gamble as Missoula MK has not been open for very long. We booked a table for two for 8.15pm and after 1hr 20 mins we had only eaten our starters. When the main courses did arrive, mine was delicious! but my partners was stone cold and had to be taken away to be warmed through. At one point I did count six waitresses forming a queue waiting on food to arrive at the "hatch" - I think the chef must of had his/her work cut out for one of the first busy nights. We will try again in the near future of course but hopefully by then the teething issues will be resolved :-)"

  • "Excellent food and service as ever - such a shame it's closing - I hope the menu is of the same style and standard when it reopens. Well done TLR!"

  • "Modern, bustling bar (downstairs) and restaurant (upstairs). The bar was very bustly and restaurant moderately busy. We were a bit worried when the waitress told us that they were operating a limited menu as they were closing down temporarily-but actually there was plenty to choose from. Food not cheap but good quality. Wines rather expensive side. I had the pulled pork in a brioche roll which was very nice but served on a wooden board that looked like it had been much used in the past. There was quite a lot of noise from the bar downstairs but by the time we were thinking of leaving at about 10.00, the music volume was really ramped up and I was glad to be going. If you don't want loud music whilst you're eating, perhaps best to eat early."

  • "The waiter we had (Zach) was very attentive but I didn't like how he kept saying "my love" to my wife! We were offered some bread and olives, we thought was complimentary but ended up on our bill! The Rye Bread was awfully dry and the tiny pot of flavourless oil didn't help much The main course was much better. Portions are a good size even though our waiter insisted they are small so perhaps might want some sides! We are both veggies and they had lots of options and said they could customize any of the meat dishes for us. Our main issue was the musician downstairs was so loud that my wife & I could barely hear each other. It spoils the ambience slightly when you have to shout to your beloved."

  • "the venue looks very pleasant and the staff where friendly, and kept us aware ie because they anticipated a group of 15ppl they made us aware that this could obviously cause a delay in the food arrival dependent on when we ordered. i also like the fact that they adhered to our request for a window seat. I ordered brioche with pulled pork (did not like) to sweetly and pork not flavoured. that could be down to bad choice from me, or underseasoned cooking (dunno), but would definitely go back to try other selections. Overall all the team enjoyed their food orders."
    dined on 30/09/2013
  • "A bit dissapointed with the choice and the fact that you had to order some side orders as extras ie fries with a steak. Not happy at being stuck behind a pillar and a big curtain but should have said so at the time, also not too keen on being addressed as "You guys" all evening. Perhaps a place for the younger crowd. Food though was good and cannot fault that."

  • "I was bragging to my sister what a lovely restaurant it was to eat at. After the meal, I was made to look like a fool. The service was extremely terrible. I had to ask for a spoon twice for my soup an dessert (where they expecting me to eat it with my hands?!) We had to ask for more drinks, there were only two table is the restaurant, I don't understand why no-one was checking on us. To be fair it was only £40 for the both of us.. I had a three course meal and two drinks and my sister had a two course meal and two drinks. So the price was good and the meal it's-self was good except certain parts were cold. But I wouldn't go there again."

  • "We were greeted for our booking by a lovely gent Zac, our waiter for the evening. He was attentive helpful and all round super server. He new his menu really well describing the food on the menu eloquently Service was prompt and food was delicious Our wine was decanted as glasses were low. Our experience was excellent all thanks to Zac He was never distracted from his job and is a fab member of the team..."

  • "Great menu, great service but extremely noisy. Have been to TLR London, Leeds & MK before and the atmosphere has been great but this last visit was very off putting. Loud shouting & screaming from a group downstairs was bad for the diners upstairs so can only imagine what people closer to them were experiencing. Considering we were in quite early (7pm) and it went on throughout our visit, it must have been behaviour welcomed by the management and therefore would put me off ever returning. Shame as the menu is absolutely fabulous and the staff brilliant."
