Diner Reviews
  • "I went here after hideous exams with a friend and really enjoyed it. The starters were lovely. Would've liked to see more fish or veg options in mains. Service a bit rushed but everyone was nice. My friend and I liked it very much"

  • "I went for a 'business lunch' but was paying out of my own pocket. 3 of us sat down to enjoy the £15, 2 course City lunch. The service was questionable (when did it become the norm to be served by 4 different people?). The food was OK nothing special and the chicken curry was VERY rich. Drinks were strange - the first ever indian that didnt have beer on tap - so for £4 quid you enjoyed a half filled pint glass of cobra from a little bottle... The real shocker came with the bill - even though we had opted for the fixed priced menu, ordered popadoms a couple of beers and lemonades and a side - the bill came close to £100 quid with service. I will never visit again."

  • "Had the 2 course deal, portions were a good size and the paneer starter and chicken currey were wonderful. We had a server and another gentleman asking us the same questions twice over so it was a bit intrusive and irritating. Wine prices aren't as competitive as other establishments. Cocktails are standard London prices out of the happy hour but really not worth it as I have never seen such small cocktails."

  • "Recently my girlfriend and I were staying in London over the weekend and decided to come here for a nice meal. We knew it was different but was unsure. Getting there I was inspired by the cocktails, friendly staff and different take on what i think of as indian food. Highly recommended and will go again!"

  • "everyone enjoyed the great food and good ambiance we resolved many tricky issues and left after four hours of discussion relaxed and happy thanks for making it comfirtable and welcoming whilst we delved into our business agenda"

  • "Went on deal, easily ate 3 courses as the portions are quite small. Reasonably tasty food not bad value the offer"

  • "We had the £14.95 lunch deal. Food was good - Mutter Paneer tasty, well presented. Naan bread fresh and warm. The space is large and at lunchtime was quiet. All clientele (except me and my friends) were business men (not surprising giving the location near Bank). My friend asked if she could switch her rice or bread option for a small side salad and was told flatly "no". That didn't impress us... not because she couldn't switch (its a set menu), but because the option to order a salad alongside ought to have been offered. The tone of the waiter was along the lines of "I'm here to serve you a set menu, and I'm not even going to think about what you actually want, or what would make you enjoy your meal here more" which was a shame."

  • "We booked this restaurant prior to going to an event at the Cass Business School. It was their last sitting of the lunchtime trade at 3pm - apart from being a tiny bit rushed at the beginning because the kitchen was closing - I can't fault the staff at all. Everyone was extremely helpful and smiling. I was there for a business meeting - due to the time of day, it was very quiet and the right atmosphere to conduct business. The food was delicious. I can imagine they would go the extra mile for an event. Really enjoyed it."

  • "As usual the food was excellent. With top table it's very good value for a good lunch."

  • "Food excellent as usual. Suit brigade at lunchtime. Decent discount from taste card"

  • "Expensive and hence difficult to rate Indian. This is a classic City based “on expenses” dining-room. Beautiful interior, looks of young good-looking staff, attention to detail. This transferred to the cooking – which was excellent with attentive service too. We ate at lunchtime when the room was half full. The meal for Five people cost £240 with starters/mains/coffees and minimal alcohol."
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "Cannot fault anything from service to the quality of food served."

  • "I had a two person business lunch and as we only had a two hour slot to eat, we were regularly being approached to order quickly, it was like they didnt want us to talk so they could turn the table around quickly. As it happens, at 2:30, the restaurant was mostly empty so wouldnt have mattered any way. All the food is mild, so it you like spicy, this is not the place. My venison dish was lovely but it intimated that it may be better with rice and rice wasnt needed at all which was a bit annoying. The other dish was the special, a lamb shank and that was also very nice. Desserts, all looked great, but nothing spectacular. nice decor and atmosphere though"

  • "Very good food, although rather pricy, and not much choice - pretty much one meal of each type of meat, fish, vegetable. Service was great - very attentive. ambience was nice enough - a little 'cocktail lounge'-y, which was as expected. I would say the tables are very close together - I don't want to hear my neighbour's conversation."
    dined on 25/02/2014
  • "We booked the 3 course set lunch with Bellini for £25. There was one vegetarian and one meat option for each course and we both opted for the vegetarian starter and chicken main, followed by the mango brulee dessert. Every course was excellent and the main was huge, with a lentil side dish, rice and flat breads! My friend said it was the best Indian food he had eaten in a very long time."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone who don't care much about the price but instead having a professional service and respect!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "So I went to the restaurant for a Valentine's day dinner. The cost was £99+service for a couple. Well let's start with the positives - - Vegetarian starters were incredible - Vegetarian part of the mains was also delicious Now unfortunately, that is all that I can remember being good about the experience. Now for the negatives - - Too crowded + ridiculously tiny table - We had to wait for 42 minutes between starters and mains (apparently because of a problem in the kitchen) - The meat dishes were appalling - the fish mains came cold and tasted nothing like the expectation from the description of the dish, while the lamb chops were like chewing rubber caked in garam masala. - Service was outrageously bad"

  • "First visit but most certainly will not be the last, nice atmosphere for Thursday lunchtime, we had the two courses for £14.95 menu and was not disappointed, asked for Jalfrezi hot and it was"

  • "City mint leaf lounge parking is insane, Finally got there, nice & hubby liked it( he been to hay market). Went on a Thursday Late evening, very noisy with buisness people having fun. Nice lounge & bar. Had 3 course with Bellini £25 only to my disappointment it wasn't 2 dine for £25 but £25 each. Spoiled my night. But food was great, great starter, limited main & dessert choice but lovely, got an extra rice on the House. Would go back again on a top table Offer."

  • "I have been several times to lunch at Mint Leaf and the standard never varies. We had their lunch menu which was as always delicious , well cooked and presented beautifully. The staff are always attentive without being overpowering in their presence. Will be coming again."

  • "I had lunch on a weekday at Mint Leaf Lounge near Bank (yet again). This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants in the City. Great decor, attentive service and really good food. Good value set menu (which you may need to ask for) - 2 or 3 courses for £14.95 or £17.95. Portions are not huge but I prefer quality cuisine to quantity. A la Carte looks good but is more pricey. Service is quick so good business lunch option. Highly recommended."

  • "Booked the 4 course tasting menu offer for my birthday with friends. Was disappointed that no drinks were offered on arrival. On friend was running late and more than half am hour past before we finally flagged the waiter to ask for drinks. The food was lovely, very generous four course and all presented beautifully. Cocktails were also nice. But one friend was veggie and her starter came out as a meat one and she had to wait quite a while for her replacement. Then you have the option to mix veg and meat in the courses and this was wrong twice for my other friend. So overall the food was tasty and the offer is good value but service let it down especially as it was our first time and a special occasion."

  • "This Mint Leaf is much better than the Haymarket one. Being Indian myself it is hard to find an authentic restaurant. The food at this bank branch was good, and better when the chef agreed to make us a special jalfrezi as we didn't like what was on the menu. Service is ok, I would recommend going from Mon-Thurs for better service. The ambience is lovely and the bar is great!"

  • "Me and my friend went to Mint Leaf Lounge for a birthday dinner. The staff were very friendly and accommodating when we arrived and throughout the dinner. Being a vegetarian it is very difficult to find a good restaurant who accommodate vegetarians. I would definitely recommend Mint leaf Lounge."

  • "A real hidden gem in the middle of the city! Convenient location, stunning bar, excellent service and great food. Lamb cutlet starters were a favourite and the Sea Bass main was excellent. Really good atmosphere - will definitely come again."
    dined on 23/12/2013
  • "I have eaten at Mint Leaf on Haymarket several times and the food at the city branch is equally as good. The place has a bit of a feel of mistaken identity, bar, club, restaurant. The staff seemed confused but were very pleasant. Once it settles into itself it'll be a massive hit."

  • "Ran out of the next wine, but did a great job in recommending the next one, food was brilliant, atmosphere lovely, and great value, would definitely go back!!!"

  • "Having been to India many times, I can honestly say that this is a great restaurant for indian food. I have been here a few times. The drinks are not cheap, but if you can get a TT deal, it is well worth it."

  • "Very happy with the service start to end, right from the smiling ladies managing the cloakroom to the bar staff and restaurant service. We were served very well and the food ordered came in quick time even at the bar table. Suggestion: you must try the Chicken Wrap and Veg. samosa. The main restaurant service was good and we were given our reserved table bang on time. For a foodie like me the starter portion was quite small, but it depends on what you order, or order 2 quantities like what I did. All in all, good music, perfect to catch up with friends and have good food and drinks. Have been there a couple of times and is defo the place that can be made as a regular!!"

  • "Although tempted in by the 2 dine for £25, the options so limited we ordered off the menu, which while tasty was expensive and the portion sizes very small."
    dined on 26/11/2013
  • "The a la carte is very good but for quality and value the set lunch has never disappointed."
    dined on 27/11/2013
  • "I attended Mint Leaf lounge for the first time and was not disappointed. We had a 5.45 booking and I was expecting the usual Friday night chaos but was pleasantly surprised. My friend and I were given two different set menus and there was initial disappointment that my choice of Prawn Curry wasn't available. However one word with the chef and the waiter was able to arrange this which was worth it! There wasnt much selection for dessert but I highly recommend the Sauvignon Blanc. As the night progresses there is a dj and saxophonist so the venue gets quite loud, but theres a good bar to take you into the night. Will definitely return."
    dined on 22/11/2013
  • "had the early bird special which I thought was a good value and good selection from the menu. Although we had booked this special through toptable.co.uk, we were not immediately given the special menu, rather the normal ala carte. We had to continually asked and specifically mention the early bird menu when finally they gave us the correct menu. The food itself were great, full of flavour and generous in servings. The wait staff however doesn't speak good English and had to repeat the order a number of times, even then still got my drink wrong and when served they were adamant it was the correct one (I know what a lychee martini taste and look like!). Overall would go back again however don't expect an outstanding service"

  • "Good set menu and price. On arrival service great . However once seated the first obstacle was they were not prepared for the set menu bringing only the a la carte menu. The ordering of starter and mains easy and relaxed. The venue appears to be more of a bar with a small dining area attached and the music very loud and of a fast tempo which made conversation difficult. Service of starters and main was excellent very well executed dishes. The desert menu was slow in coming as was taking the order for desert. The restaurant was not particularly busy. Good wonderful but service and ambience let it down. I might be tempted to try the other mint leaf venue"
    dined on 13/11/2013
  • "Another restaurant, par for the course these days, where, on entry, one is greeted with a 'wall of sound'; so much so that it was hard to communicate one's name and booking with the meeters and greeters. However, the three course plus bellini offer was good value and, unusually, was far too much for me to eat."
    dined on 16/10/2013
  • "A pleasant surprise for a lunch venue. Very good food - I'll definitely be back!"
    dined on 16/10/2013
  • "I have been to Mint Leaf Lounge a few times and their pre-theatre menu offers good value - in fact, it is even better value now as they offer rice or breads to accompany main courses, which they didn't used to do. I was a little disappointed with the restaurant staff though on this occasion as, over the course of booking through top-table, up to the point of us being seated at our table (it was a same-day booking), we were told 6 times that there was a 2-hour turnaround on the table. Clearly, they have work to do on their customer service skills - we were left feeling like they didn't actually want us to eat at the restaurant, as all they could do was keep telling us when we had to leave. It was very rude and over the top."
    dined on 16/10/2013
  • "Took a colleague out for lunch at the Mint Leaf as it was close to the office and we both like Indian food. The taste menu sounded good even if at £25 it was quite pricey for a set lunch menu. The food turned out to be ok, albeit standard Indian cuisine, nothing special and not worth the price. But worst of all was the non existing service. For a restaurant in the city, serving a lunch menu I would expect a fast service, instead it took us 2 hours and we had to chase the waiter several times to be served. And it wasn't that the restaurant was busy, there were only 3 or 4 tables occupied. Not recommended."
