Diner Reviews
  • "Good was amazing! Service was exceptional and all requirements were met! Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone for any occasion!!"

  • "The Mint Leaf was again a great night out. Shared both starter and main meal with my companion in order that we could have some of each other's choice. The salmon starter was moist and really tasty. The kebab was also very flavoursome. We both loved the chicken jalfrazi and the curried paneer. The rice and naan were also really tasty. As we had the theatre booked the waiter was very good at keeping the meal to time without making us feel we were being rushed. My friend had never been before and loved the trendy design and bar area, so we will both be returning."

  • "My first visit to this restaurant. The interior is very dark which some people may not like. Service was good and we did not have to wait long for food as we were early diners at 6pm on a weekday pre theatre. We ate from the set menu, The food was nicely displayed and very tasty. Good value for two courses in thus area of a London. Drinks are expensive but they will give you tap water if you insist. Portions are not huge but sufficient we did nit need a side order. We would return. Toilets OK but the whole place looks rather tired and could do with some repainting."

  • "Wonderful 'real' food. Only disappointing thing was price of mocktails- £6 for effectively a juice."

  • "Good location, nice ambiance and very spacious dining area. The food is excellent and very , however, portions are quite modest."

  • "We had a team lunch for 4 (£30 four course special + Bellini). We all enjoyed the meal which was considerably fresher, this is an Indian restuarant and not a curry house. This means the food is not heavy or full of butter and fat."

  • "Can't go wrong really. Starters were very good indeed, we had the tasting menu, main courses quite rich but still good. Menu very good value. Bar waitress service leaves something to be desired."

  • "The staff were very nice and tried to make us as comfortable as possible. We arrived an hour early for our pre theatre meal but nothing was any problem to them. We took cocktails in the bar and dined half an hour early. The happy hour cocktails were great value at 2 for 1, and the pre theatre menu was outstanding value. The food was delicious and the waiter patiently described the dishes. We had enough space for privacy and they didn't rush us. All on all couldn't fault them."

  • "I went to Mint Leaf for a business lunch. Their £30 4 course tasting menu is served within 1 hour. It is very tasty indeed. The main course kerala fish curry struck a nice balance between sweet and spicy. One of the best Indian restaurants in London. The only minus point is the ambience: Mint Leaf is based in a dimly lit basement giving it a distinctly night club feel. A bit of a shame having to take your business relations down a dark dungeon for lunch on a sunny day."

  • "Service was a little slow but the food as well worth it"

  • "The food & staff were very friendly. The venue was excellent."

  • "Mint Leaf is very dark and has the feel of a club rather than a restaurant, so more of a winter than summer venue. We chose the London restaurant week menu and the food was excellent, if a little mild for our taste. I particularly enjoyed the vegetarian tasting platter. The menu included a glass of champagne and we also ordered a few glasses of wine, which weren't too expensive given the location and upmarket feel of the restaurant. Cocktails would be good value during happy hour. Service was friendly. A good evening."

  • "Fantastic food and very attentive service. Excellent venue"

  • "Food was average and over-priced, the service was slow and unfriendly. Would not recommend."

  • "Visited Mint Leaf for a date night with my partner. Didn't really know what to expect as this was our first time there but on arrival we were amazed by the set out of the restaurant, was better than what we could have imagined. Staffs were great, greated us at the front reception and took our coats and took us to our seats. Food was great, service was great, restaurant was great, would defiantly go again and recommend to anyone to try it out."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "The food was very delicious. The waiter "insisted" that we have all our meals together in one course, which first annoyed me, but in the end it turned out a good idea and we were grateful for the useful tip."

  • "Four of us went to Mint Leaf for Mothers day and had our evening spoilt by some very bad service. The waitress was rude, did not bother to clean the table and ignored us for large parts of our meal. We enjoyed the food but will not return in the future as at this price point you expect a more professional experience. To be fair to Mint Leaf they did remove the service charge from the bill without question when we challenged it. By this time the waitress in question had vanished, so I suspect they knew they had a problem."

  • "Food was good but have few options for vegetarians and quantity was less. Cake was very nice."

  • "Good value for money, good selection of food, great location, friendly staff. Drinks little expensive but hey its London."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "Tucked away downstairs and just off the Haymarket this was a hidden delight. The bar made fantastic cocktails and the meal was wonderfully flavoured. Service throughout the evening was wonderfully attentive."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "having booked the special 4 course with cocktail for £30 it was very good value for money, i think there should be a few more options for the dinner course"

  • "As usual the atmosphere at mint leaf was buzzing but not loud enough to make conversation difficult. The london restaurant week offer was very good value and the dishes were very tasty."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "We had the taster menu - 4 courses including a bellini. Everything we ate was really tasty, lovely flavours especially the Kerala fish curry. The service was also very good - our French waitress was very attentive and friendly. The only negative I found was the atmosphere of the restaurant itself - it feels like a night club, especially with the security guard on the door, but when we left around 11.15, we were the last people there, so I'm not sure if it does actually operate as a nightclub."
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Had the pre-theatre menu fantastic value for money. The food was delicious and staff were friendly & helpful!"
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "overall a good pre-theatre dining experience, very good value for money food in small portions was well presented slightly slow service but well meaning recommended"
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "Saturday night dinner - toptable special. Excellent food, very attentive and helpful service. Expensive drinks! I always object to service charge added without a 'by your leave' but in this case would have given the same anyway. A most enjoyable evening."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "I booked this place on a deal and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the food, the dark interiors remind me of the hakkasan and I believe this is a good Indian equavlent."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Lovely food and atmosphere. Will definitely come again!"
    dined on 19/03/2014
  • "We dined there pre-theatre and came back afterwards for a drink in the bar. The brief set menu for pre-theatre offer is good value for money, particularly for the location. Food was good quality, but spice and therefore flavour levels were turned down, I'm guessing to appeal to a wide audience. I can get significantly more flavoursome Indian food nearer my home in the E postcodes...but my home isn't near two fantastic theatres. I would hope the full menu is more adventurous. The decor is sophisticated and the service is friendly and mostly very efficient. This is a sadly rare combination in many London restaurants and bars and is to be commended. The bartender was friendly and patient for the group of us that returned after the play."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Poor choices for vegetarians especially when it came to the pre-theatre menu. We picked the pre-theatre set menu for £13.95 as the theatre was on the same block as the restaurant. The one choice in the main just happen to contain large quantities of dairy, and for someone who is also lactose intolerant this was an undesirable choice. Spoke to the host and advised him of the issue and he happily changed the order for us. He changed it to something i personally would never will order again. Puree spinach with chopped mushroom & corn. Its sounded nice but when it came out it looked unappetizing ... green goop. I won't be taking my vegetarian friends here again and the set menu is a bad choice for vegetarians, not really worth it."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Based in the basement, with a great choice of alcoholic drinks and good food. Handy location for the West End."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "A friendly welcome and we made our way downstairs, which in itself added to the atmosphere as the contemporary style restaurant opened up. It wasn't too busy as we are late after seeing Phantom, which is literally opposite! Very friendly and attentive service, good choice of wines and outstanding food with a contemporary edge. A top quality. A la carte Indian experience and would definitely recommend it."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Lovely Indian food and ambience. Perhaps a tad overpriced for what is essentially an elaborate curry but it is in Central London. Service relaxed and informal but attentive. Slightly put out at the fact they were not prepared to make a vegetarian main course as a side dish portion for us to share but thoroughly enjoyed all the food and great cocktails!"
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Really enjoyed the food and presentation. Good venue for cocktails and food if on a date or in a group and looking for a reason to put on your party shoes!"
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "Amazing food! Loved the tandoori platter starters - tried guinea fowl for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised. Lovely decor and atmosphere and the waiting staff was very friendly with fast service. Only slightly negative comment was paying £5 for a small bottle of water! Maybe that should be expected for London restaurants though... My friend also did not enjoy her prosecco cocktail which came with the set menu deal. So she ordered a new one meaning our £25 pp deal ended up costing us £40pp.."
    dined on 05/03/2014
  • "Ambience and food are excellent, especially appetizers to share. Overall, the quality is pretty good, but.... you pay for that. 10 gbp for ice cream is really too much...."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "A friend & I went to the Mint Leaf after the theatre. With the special offer (3 courses & a Bellini £25) it was great value. Although the set menu was slightly limited we both really enjoyed the food. The decoration & service were impeccable. We also had a cocktail in the bar before dinner which were lovely & there was a great range to choose from. Would definitely recommend."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "I used to book this restaurant for groups before I sold my company Dinner Dates. Three years on I booked a pre theatre meal for myself and my husband and I'm delighted to say this restaurant is even better than I remembered. The food is utterly delicious, the service is impeccable and the decor and ambience is faultless. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "We went to Mint Leaf for a birthday. The service was excellent, food was tasty, and the ambiance beautiful. At the end of our meal they brought out a mini dessert for the birthday boy, a very nice touch!"
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "The quality of food at Mint Leaf is always outstanding. Loved their black tiger prawns and venison. However, I had booked for the special offer and we were given an ordinary a la carte menu on arrival, which meant that we ended up paying 4 times more for our meal than envisaged. The toilets also leave a lot to be desired as there are broken dirty plastic toilet brushes in each cubicle. Such things should not even be on show."
