The manager was as usual very nice and friendly. He is one of the best managers we have encountered. I ordered the pork belly and haddock as previous, it tasted slightly different. The pork belly was tough and not as crispy. The batter from the haddock was different and not as crispy either. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good. Go with an apatite as the portions are a good size. The crab starter I had was truly delicious and the spatchcock poussin excellent. If you have the three times cooked chips, you only need one portion between two. It isn't a huge cavernous place so even though we were one of maybe four tables dining that day the restaurant wasn't lacking in atmosphere and the friendly welcome of the host along with his attentive service was enough to seal the deal.
