Diner Reviews
  • "Great to eat outside on a Sunney day .great food ."

  • "Ate here before and it was excellent. Table booked for 2030 this time and did not have any food until well after 2100 and did not finish our second course until after 2200. I think it may just have been a bad night. I would try again."
    dined on 02/04/2014
  • "This is a better than decent restauant with above average food. It lacks the individuality of the branch in the City but a more than satisfactory atmosphere all the same. The tables are not too close together which for me is always a plus. For a decent mid-price dinner or lunch with good service I would ceratinly recommend Manicomio."

  • "I have eaten here a number of times, it really is a fantastic restaurant. Every time I go the food is great and the service is smooth and efficient. I have eaten at most of the top Italian restaurants in London, but this place is by far my favourite. Don't miss out on the foccacia and the olive oil."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Very lovely food and atmosphere but tables were far too close together so there was no room for the wine holder and much as the staff were attentive, we were barely able to take a sip of wine before it was topped up. Dishes were offered to be removed before we had finished eating because we were too busy chatting between mouthfuls."

  • "A quick lunch at Manicomio with a friend was pleasant, and it was lovely to be able to sit outside in the sunshine over some wine and food. My salad was interesting and my friend's fish and the main looked even better."

  • "Had taster special - very nice. Just right for pre-theatre."
    dined on 04/03/2014
  • "Warm welcome, comfortable, not too noisy, delicious food, good selection of wines and very good service. Set menu is good value - a la carte less so."

  • "Very good surprise. High quality food in incredible neighbourhood. Excelente restaurant."

  • "An excellent restaurant for a ladies' lunch or dinner with friends - it has a good buzz but you can converse without having to shout."

  • "We dined using the toptable offer of £22 for 2 courses plus a glass of wine and coffee. My starter of Sicilian fish soup was very tasty. But my main of gnocchi with gorgonzola was way too salty, and really let down the meal. Overall, the offer is good value, although the substitution of mint tea for coffee was charged as an extra. Also, the tables are squeezed in very close together, so not good if you want privacy."

  • "Although the food was good & represented value for money, service was abysmal. The waiter tried at every stage to force feed us the extras. He explained that we could have a small glass of red or white wine with the menu.. Sauvignon or Gamay (?). The bill started to mount up - coffee that was included in the deal could not be replaced by a tea.. an additional charge. When we received the bill, the waiter had charged us for the Sauvignon (now not in the offer)!!! I flagged this up with the waiter who proceeded to knock £10 off the bill. He returned to the table and loudly explained that he had removed the money to please us. He then tried to charge us separate amounts that added up to more than the bill total."

  • "Manicomio is a chic Italian with the right atmosphere for a memorable evening. The Fixed price menu has many options and the food is well presented. Well worth a visit but pricey for the a la carte"
    dined on 10/02/2014
  • "Great food but the whole atmosphere was overbearing for a casual Sunday lunch. The waiters continuously interrupted to offer this and that either they were very bored or very poorly trained in all despite excellent food will not rush back."
    dined on 16/02/2014
  • "Delicious lunch in a great location. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Would have no hesitation in recommending!"
    dined on 10/02/2014
  • "The service from everybody was excellent, efficient, friendly and helpful. Four of us had three courses and every course was excellent as was the wine we chose. Thoroughly recommended."
    dined on 08/02/2014
  • "My friend and I dined here on Saturday evening. We had booked the toptable deal but were more tempted by the a la carte on the day. I had the monkfish/tiger prawns as my main with a side of veggies and potatoes - very tasty - and an excellent chestnut semifreddo for desert. Food was excellent, but unquestionably on the expensive side for what it was. Service was slow and inconsistent - ranging from very attentive (from the chap who seemed to be the head waiter who was very considerate of food allergies) to forgetful (from the chap who 'half-cleared my plate away only to put it down again when distracted by a question from another table and the chap who forgot to bring me my after dinner drink)."

  • "Really impressed. Delicious meal, great service and overall not bad value for money at all. The only complaint? The art work!"
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "Food was pretty average. Ordered mozzarela as starter and the size of it was a quite ridiculous - tiny mozzarella ball with some dull rocket around. I had tagliatelle as a main and again, not good taking into account it was a very simple dish. Service was pretty random as well. We were told that one of the 3 mains included in the set menu for the Toptable offer was not available and didn't really gave us an alternative until we requested it. Even then, the answer was just 'chicken'. Despite the location and nice ambience I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend it."
    dined on 08/02/2014
  • "Never disapoints in quality & service. A favourite with friendly staff & good food with a reasonably priced & good win list. Could change the menu a little more often especially the starters."
    dined on 07/02/2014
  • "We had the special set price lunch which was very well priced and the food was good. The table service was very professional - responsive, helpful and pleasant without being intrusive. We have a reasonably priced bottle of wine which was also to a good standard,"
    dined on 02/02/2014
  • "My friends / colleagues and I had the special lunch offer, including a glass of wine and coffee; and though the set menu selection is very limited, we all very much enjoyed our various meals. So it was as enjoyable an experiences as I've had there previously; there was a discrepancy with the bill but it was readily addressed."
    dined on 04/02/2014
  • "Have been here many times and typically just sit at the bar, enjoy a drink and eat there. This time sat at the table. Despite the restaurant not being the place was very loud and I could barely here the person I was with. The food was only OK and was nothing exceptional. For 17.00 would expect a bowl of pasta to blow me away - this was just run of the mill. They have tinkered with the menu and perhaps it is just that but the restaurant was a bit disappointing this time around."
    dined on 01/02/2014
  • "We had no idea where to eat so selected the nearest restaurant that had availability to us. We didn't have any expectations but it was great. Greeted with a complimentary glass of wine, an excellent starter, main and dessert. The dessert, wow! Caramelised bananas on meringue. I'm still thinking about that dish."
    dined on 29/01/2014
  • "Great location and fantastic italian food. However, we had booked the toptable offer so it would have been helpful had the waiter pointed out when he asked whether we wanted coffee or tea that the tea was not included in the offer (unlike the coffee)."
    dined on 20/01/2014
  • "We ate on the set menu for toptable bookings, which was superb value for 3 courses with wine and coffee. The service was a little awkward, with the waiter hanging around for a few seconds after each visit to the table, but otherwise great lunch"
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "Very good service with friendly staff, the food was nice from starter to dessert. This restaurant is in a good location and set up well. Overall had a good experience here :)"
    dined on 17/01/2014
  • "£22.50 for two courses (delicious), a generous glass of wine and coffee. Unrushed (we were 45 minutes late and stayed at least 2 hours), charming service - perfect. Have also been for dinner several times and had great food, service in a comfortable atmosphere."
    dined on 16/01/2014
  • "Salad was well balanced, seasoned well and the egg was cooked perfectly. Green tea was standard. My sister enjoyed her lobster pasta dish. The waiter was sensitive & made good suggestions for gluten/wheat free intolerance's and overall the service was good e.g. not too inattentive or overbearing. The table was near the window and overall nice atmosphere. Though initially quiet, it was getting busier once we left. I felt the place was welcoming. We ordered off the set menu / did not try a variety of dishes. I have eaten in Sloane square a few times, but this place did not disappoint me, unlike others I have paid for. I would like to try this place again when I have more time e.g. to enjoy desserts, as I was in a rush to eat and get out."
    dined on 07/01/2014
  • "The set menu was great value for 2 courses and a drink for £22.50. Service was very good and food tasty."
    dined on 04/01/2014
  • "We booked the Top Table 3 course offer. Whilst the options available were very limited which wasn't a problem for us. The quality of the food was fantastic and the service was very good. I would definitely return again and perhaps try the a la carte menu which looked very interesting. Nice and relaxed for solo diners also."

  • "Lovely food & service. Great location just off King's Road. Tables perhaps a bit close together for a business lunch but for a casual meal it's perfect. Will be back."
    dined on 19/12/2013
  • "I have been to this restaurant many times and the food never disapoints, unusual, full of flavour and very good service. It is quite expensive but you are in Chelsea!"
    dined on 19/12/2013
  • "Fabulous food, good value on the set menu and lovely service. Only issue is a bit noisy as tables quite close together and sounds echo."
    dined on 18/12/2013
  • "This restaurant is great! I was recommended it for its cocktails which were excellent. However we stayed for dinner and everything was excellent. Food amazing. I thought just as good as say The Ledbury. The service was also immaculate with very charming and attentive staff. I really couldn't fault it and bearing in mind I was with my vegetarian girlfriend, who loved her recommended dish, I think they did very well. X4 cocktails, no wine it was £75 a head. I was very happy with this and felt it was good value compared with spenny £100+ as head restaurants I know. Definitely one to return to and one I highly recommend."
    dined on 16/12/2013
  • "I love eating here as the food is good and the staff are always so nice. I have an unusual food allergy and they are always aware and very careful. If you want to eat a light meal you can and visa versa if you are hungry. It is an interesting menu and the set menu is very good value. Highly recommended."
    dined on 12/12/2013
  • "service great, meet 4 of my cousins for a long lunch, no pressure from staff to leave, excellent food, enjoyed the set menu which was good value and plenty of choice, will visit again"
    dined on 07/12/2013
  • "Was our second visit and as good as we remembered it! Lovely menu which makes it difficult to choose but everything we ordered was good and we all left clean plates. There was a mistake with my choice of main course but they dealt with it very professionally taking it off the bill and offering us a complimentary dessert so it did not spoil our evening and we appreciated the kind gesture."
    dined on 05/12/2013
  • "A perfect place for delicious food in this stylishly comfortable dinning room - friendly efficient service as always and of course, that menu which I could eat almost everything from."
    dined on 02/12/2013
  • "Great dining experience from start to finish. We booked with the two course set menu with a glass of wine for £20. The service was very accommodating and took great care of us. The food was very well prepared and the portions were the perfect size. The house wine that came with the set menu was delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the Sloan Square area."
