A word from Madison
There are bars with a view and then there is Madison. Perched atop the brand new One New Change development in the City of London, Madison takes an understated command of the London skyline with iconic stealth architecture, designed to be unobtrusive to the streets below & views so good you will need to remember to breathe.

Overlooking St Paul's cathedral, Madison offers a delectable menu including our famous “Buccleuch Estate” Angus Beef burger and a Charcuterie Board that can be shared over an informal lunch. The views can also be enjoyed with cocktail & canapé parties with our resident DJ as darkness falls. Madison really does keep you coming back for more.

Diner Reviews
  • "food so expensive but not good quality. Ambience: very good."
    dined on 12/04/2014

  • "I booked a dinner at Madison for my boss who wanted to reward some members of our team for their work. He was delighted with my choice, and today one of the other people who attended asked me how he can book a table for himself. I found Madison when I was researching restaurants near our office. Food quality is important to me, and on the website they say they source 'good quality ingredients from well sourced regional produce'. So when my boss asked me to book something suitably nice yet reasonably priced, I suggested Madison. The food sounded very good and the views looked amazing. They were so impressed I'll definitely book again and recommend it."

  • "VERY EXPENSIVE for such average food. To be honest, I never had green risotto before, but it reminded me of something of a Willy Wonka experiment. Anyway, my boyfriend ordered the mussels which were amazing, but will be be returning for dinner. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. We stayed and enjoyed a few drinks on the terrace which was beautiful."

  • "Pub food at top restaurant prices. Excellent views of London."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "The restaurant itself is slap bang next to the open plan standing area, which on the night we went was filled with City folk who wanted a cocktail and conversation. Not bad if you're on the dance floor cutting shapes to the live music provided by the DJ, but perhaps not the environment for a dinner where you actually want to hear the other people at your table. Also would not recommend the lamb - not the best value for money. Cocktails however, are on point! And the service was great too. Would recommend for a quick bite to eat and great views of the City."
    dined on 03/04/2014
  • "Given that the place was absolutely packed (it being Friday night) the service and food was excellent. The fact that there were only three toilets in the restaurant area was a nightmare as people had to be away from the table for over 10 minutes during the meal just to use the bathroom. Overall it was really buzzy, the food was excellent, although the price was clearly uplifted becuase of the view (which was excellent)."
    dined on 04/04/2014
  • "Service and atmosphere great, but the value for money was not. A colleague and I had a couple of glasses of wine and a main course each. £108. A bit steep for what we got."
    dined on 04/04/2014
  • "We love Madison's for its amazing location overlooking St Paul's, it's outside space and light and airy restaurant. The menu was limited but sometimes it's better to offer less but cook it really well. We all enjoyed our meals. The service was not up to its usual standard the waiters seemed distracted and not concentrating on taking our order but having said that they were attentive in the end just a ropie start. The overall experience was a very enjoyable, long lunch with very good friends, we will continue to visit Madison's time and time again either for just cocktails or a meal."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "Perfect for drinks. Great martinis, although a bit expensive. Food is okay (not great), and quite expensive. The strength of the place is the outdoor area. Nice view of St. Paul's Cathedral."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "Went for Valentines Day and Madison's really went above and beyond the traditional London Valentines Day experiance. There were little extras (I wont spoil the surprise if they plan on doing it next year) which really made the night special for my girlfriend. The choice of wine was very good too. As for the food, it was a rather solid performance- tasty and prompt, even if not something special per say. I guess what you really should go for is the atmosphere and ambiance, it is very chilled, high brow and will make you feel a part of that up and coming, mid 20s London scene that is a rather intoxicating (albeit intoxicated) experience."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "After reading mixed reviews I booked a table at Madison for the convenient location and was extremely impressed with what I found. Attentive greeting and service without being over bearing, great food and at a sensible price. Madison is clearly geared up for large numbers and I can imagine overall quality may suffer on busy evenings, but I have no experience of this. I will certainly be revisiting!"

  • "Great venue for drinks and eat. Great scenic view over London, overlooking the impressive domme of St. Paul's. Well worth a visit for a cocktail or to dinne."
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "The views are amazing and the location great with easy access but unfortunately waiters seem disorganised and rushed off their feet. Interior is ok but nothing special. Food is mediocre and although prices are generally low for London, they are too much for the quality and quantity served. Toilets were less than impressive - really needed a good clean and some maintenance work done. This place has huge potential but I reckon a change in management and perhaps the replacement of some wait-staff to realise it."

  • "We went to Madison for a birthday meal prior to a trip to the theatre. I had mentioned that we would be celebrating a birthday when I booked and was pleased to receive a phone call on the morning, confirming my booking and asking whose birthday it was and how their name was spelt. On arrival we were directed to a table, given some drinks but then asked to move to another table so they would be able to seat a big group (who never arrived and our original table was left unoccupied). Wine was warm when it eventually arrived and it took prompts to the waiter for him to fill our empty glasses. Food was OK, nothing special. Service was very poor and not worth added service charge. Sadly, the birthday was never acknowledged."

  • "Have been here a few times for drinks but this was the first time for dinner. I won't be rushing back. Whilst the food is of a quality fitting for the price tag the staff here are just plain rude and not particularly attentive. I don't remember what I ate. All I remember is being ignored, being told to walk the long way around the restaurant area to get to our table that was right next to a small gateway near the bar (no sign up saying please use other entrance/exit) and they then got the bill wrong. All for a bargain of £180! No thanks."
    dined on 16/01/2014
  • "The view and food was amazing, however if you are looking for romantic and quiet place then you probably need to come during less busy time.I could not hear my friend or waitress as music was too loud.Overall everything was perfect!"
    dined on 27/03/2014
  • "Very slow service. Noisy restaurant as bar area very full. Cocktail was delicious but very little of it - mainly ice. The food was fine but the service was very slow. I may go again for a drink on a summer's evening, the view is breathtaking but I wouldn't recommend eating here. Amazingly they even said they had run out of coffee, everyone was having tea after their meal. Expensive for what it was too."
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "Overrated. The food was ok, but kitchen service was terrible. We had a dinner table for 8 and one of the main dishes need it to get back to kitchen twice since meat was raw after asking to be well done, then totally burned! No worth the money as the price you pay supposed to be for the view but if you are in the middle of the restaurant don't see anything."
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "We went there for a treat from some friends and got there a bit earlier than we had booked the table. The lady on reception 'barked' at us that if we wanted to sit down early we only had 2 hours at the table, which I thought was rather rude as there was no mention of this when I booked (Saturday night) but we all just smiled and sat down, it wasn't like they were full at 6.30pm. That annoyed us all straight away but the waiter was fantastic, he went the extra mile to please us and was very attentive. I would have given him 5 for service, but the receptionist brought it down to 2 - as first impressions count. The food was delicious, cocktails very tasty and the ambience was great - albeit a bit loud with a group of drunken men in the bar."
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "This is my second trip to Madison and yet again I wasn't disappointed. The view is amazing, the food wonderful and the service and ambience excellent. Will be back again and have already recommended to friends and family"
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "Came here for a hen do and then recommended to friends to come for a meal. quite frankly was disappointed in the chicken and felt that the burger was overpriced for what we got. The ambience is amazing and we feel it is a shame that the dining experience was not as good as we hoped."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "After sending four emails and being on hold three times (yet never getting to speak to someone) I finally got a lazy email answering my question about five days late. My family was in town and very much wanted to still go to madison even though I was appalled. When we got there, the kitchen was closed. It was 4:30 on a Sunday and the website states the kitchen closes at 6. This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had. Madison does not live up to the hype. Go stand on the rooftop of one new change for free and don't waste your money or time buying over priced drinks and having horrible horrible horrible service."
    dined on 16/03/2014
  • "The food was top notch, the ambience serene and the view unique! We thoroughly enjoyed spending time looking out over the sight of London and particularly seeing St Paul's from such a fantastic vantage point. Great venue. We look forward to returning!"
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Very impressed with the rooftop location, great outdoor vibe Food and service were great Loved the atmosphere"
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "I didn't enjoyed my experience and was very disappointed, not value for money at all, the food overpriced, and small portion, had the small chicken and it was not tasty at all... the receptionist not even a smile when we arrived, the only thing that I'd go back for is the view, and I will definitely have them at the bar, restaurant very disappointing..."
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "They have done a very good job with this place - i have been to places in Dubai and India similar, but london takes the cake again, what a view....St Pauls at your doorstep with the dome of the historic cathedral at eye level. Awesome place, would recommend to anyone."
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "Gorgeous bar with fab views over St. Paul's. Although next time I'd go for just a drink not dinner. The food is merely ok which is not reflected in the price. Drinks are expensive but that comes with the location. Get some nicer grub elsewhere and come here after for a drink. Service good but slow at times"
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "Many resturants with a great view (Madison overlooks StPauls Cathederal) don't deliver on their primary task... That they are a resturant. Madison over delivered on every aspect- food choice, food quality and service It is pricey but well worth it It's a casual/trendy dining place with some city types in suits but my friend and I were in casual sightseeing attire- staff are in jeans and blazers.....and of the 5 or so that I spoke to all were polite and had a personality! I would recommend booking as I can imagine when the weather (and the the view) gets better it will be quite busy And possibly the after work slot will be manic as they have a lovely outdoor rooftop bar area A special place to take visitors to London to Will go again"
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Our first time to The Madison and although the food was lovely, the atmosphere was electric and the views were stunning, The music was just a tad too high for a bar/ restaurant. It was difficult to make conversation or even hear the waiter at times ! having said that we had a good time even if it was a bit pricey, but who cared it was my Birthday !!!"
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Beautiful sunny afternoon, St. Paul's glistening what a perfect setting for a late brunch. The place was buzzing, tapas starters were very tasty. Burgers lovely. Wine was to easy to swallow. Will be going back soon."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Having read some of the reviews on here, where it got mediocre reviews, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. The food was really delicious. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly, then the poached pears, which were so good! The only criticism I have is that it felt more like a bar venue than restaurant. The views of St. Paul's are spectacular, but when there's hundreds of people milling around the bar, obstructing your view, it's hard to appreciate. Go for the food & service though."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "A friend was visiting from the USA and I Wanted to take her somewhere with views of London. St Pauls looks absolutely magnificent from the Madison so well worth it. We just had a burger and I can truely say it was the best tasting burger I have ever had. Been a Friday night the place was very busy but the service was excellent. Waiters were all super efficient, attentive and friendly - thank you. My only gripe was that the music was slightly too loud so it was difficult to communicate without raising your voice. Overall visit was excellent."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "For such value of money the service was poor and overall satisfaction refers to 3*. I heard a lot about Madison and it was my first first time, and I am not realy about to come back."
    dined on 28/02/2014
  • "Food is fine but not original and quite expensive. Service was alright too."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "We ordered several starters and shared them and also a dessert each. The starters were tasty but nothing special considering the prices, which was disappointing. A few dishes were trying to be unusual in a Heston kind of way, but unfortunately it didnt really work. The desserts were especially disappointing, the cheesecake was tough as if it had been frozen. Overall atmosphere were buzzing and stunning views. Great service and lovely wine choices!"
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Bar well placed close to dining area, good idea to go to the bar as you await meal if you wish to top up your drinks despite it not being too busy on a Wednesday. Informed the gents out of action in the area however appears it was the ladies, hence women were directed to the gents while I had to walk across the terrace towards the Tapas bar, then directed to rear stairwell where you had choice of using the disabled or baby changing cubicle with a queue building up quite rapidly. Consequently returning to cold food. It also appears ordering a dash of coke or lemonade with whiskey means filling the glass to the point you doubt whether whiskey was actually placed in the glasses. A complaint to the management soon had it sorted. Not sure VFM"

  • "It was a fun valentines evening, with the normal menu with some nice added touches."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Decided to come here for a romantic meal with my girlfriend for Valentines Day, to take advantage of the amazing views of St Pauls Cathedral and for the impressive sounding menu. The waiters were really friendly and sat at our table, but the post work crowd and the ever increasing sound system volume meant having a discussion proved really difficult. We then ordered olives and a bottle of sparkling water.....we received no olives and a bottle of still water. I order the steak and a side of truffle fries and whilst I requested it be cooked 'medium rare' it was more 'medium well' and was chewing for ages! (for the £32 price tag!). To round it all off, the mens loos were broken so I had to brave gales and rain to walk outside to go there!"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "The views are stunning - you get the best views when near the sofas lined around the edge of the restaurant rather than restaurant itself. My food was very tasty - duck spring rolls to start and burger with blue cheese topping. Service started off well enough but after our orders were taken we were pretty much forgotten. Our wine was sitting at the bar and we had to keep reminding the waiting staff to refill. I wanted a dessert menu and water - instead I got the bill! The couple next to is were receiving the same inattention. The service did let the food down."
