The food is truly authentic - I am from a Spanish family (but born and bought up in the UK) and can say that it is as good as in Spain. Loved the croquetas - just like home made - worth a try if you have never tried them. One clean white squid body stuffed with a mixture of porcini and prawns, cooked, and then cut into four neat slices with the tentacles at the end. The slices were served on a small bed of rocket leaves and some sauce. I also had a plate of BBQ’ed Iberico ribs slathered in a hot romesco sauce and a couple of skewers of duck, pig and preserved fig. We shared a bottle Barbadillo Blanco from Cadiz and was made from the same grapes as sherry. But without doubt what made are meal fantastic was the service of Iliana our waitress for the evening. She was great fun and had a good knowlege of the food that was served. Nothing left on the plates! The food was excellent both for vegetarians with a good range to choose from and the meat eaters (sons) who were actually arguing over which dishes to have! Overall, a good visit and will be going again (we live near York!)
Good friendly service - attentive without being over the top23/01/2013 16:00:00Mucho gustoPopped in here before attending the Empire, we did go early so it was quiet, but as others had come in whilst we dined the atmosphers was nice. The food is typical Spanish, nothing fancy, just good food and a lot of it we English might call comfort food. The wine was a bit dear, we have houses in Spain and France and have to say Spanish white wine is over priced and over rated so don't hold this against Lunya! We had a chees and meat platter, really good quality meats and cheeses folowed by several meat Tapa, the Ox cheeks were superb.
The deli section looked fantastic and on any other day we could have spent a fortune... but we might be making a return trip just to visit the deli!!

We were given enough time in between courses and were not rushed at all. Usually with tapas I'm hungry again an hour after eating but we were both so full we couldn't finish all of the food (much to our devastation!)
The staff were very friendly.

You go in through a well-stocked deli, and the Spanish waiters give a good welcome. We asked the (British) owner to choose some tapas for us - a ploy which usually works out well for us, and on this occasion paid off in spades. We tried several dishes that were new to us - including crispy fried aubergines, fish and chip fritters. slow roasted ox cheek and catalan scouse (!). Good tastes, good fun.,07/03/2012 16:00:00
