A word from Lola and Simón
This chic and cosy neighbourhood restaurant in Hammersmith, London, is run by a couple called Kirsten and Nico – not to be confused with their dogs Lola and Simòn who reside in Buenos Aires. Hailing from Argentina and New Zealand respectively, Nico and Kirsten have combined the best ingredients from their home countries to design an innovative menu at Lola Simòn that has proved a hit with Hammersmith locals. Favourite dishes include the Antipodean-style brunch; tender New Zealand lamb served with sweet potato and mint pesto; and an amazing Argentinian rib eye steak served with butternut purée. The dining room at Lola Simòn is 70s-style bistro-chic, and the new world wine list is fantastic and affordable.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Really enjoyed our meal here. Had the lamb and then the orange cake for dessert which was fab- then I tried my friend's dulche de leche pudding and wish I'd ordered that- it was gorgeous! We also had the happiest waiter ever- he was just lovely."

  • "This place looks so warm and welcoming from outside, and the greeting inside was great too. Food is unusual and varied, and well-cooked, though both veggie dish and dessert were a little stodgy compared to delicious starters and mains. There was a certain lack of flexibility though - partner asked for mashed potato as a side and was told it wasn't possible, even though it is on the menu with another dish, and it was served to someone else in our party. That made the very friendly welcome seem slightly insincere. Overall, very good, but given the prices, it could just go that extra mile to be outstanding."

  • "We were 2 of 4 patrons in the restaurant so it was quiet and the music and ambiance were lovely, steak was delicious. We sat in the window, next time we would like to try the raised level at the back. Nice place for a celebration meal, smart but casual."

  • "Interesting concept, fusion of New Zealand and Argentina, works quite well. Service was great straight off the bat, the resaturant is small, cozy, good lighting and comfortable seats, and the food was fantastic. We had the sharing platter to start off with, which was fantastic, and for mains I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly. The wines were a bit on the expensive side, but life's too short to drink cheap wine."

  • "I travelled 2 hours to meet a relative to dine here. Unfortunately we didn't qualify for the early bird offer as I had made a mistake on the toptable booking. Found it to be expensive for 1 course each and a single glass of wine. A 12.5% service charge was also added to the bill. My Milanesa Napolitana was a little overcooked and dry. On a positive note the sirloin steak was very good."

  • "Great place...love everything about it. Service is excellent and attentive. The food is very well-executed, nicely presented and the home-made ice cream will convert those who don't have a sweet-tooth! Just don't tell the neighbours!"

  • "It's a good combo, I found their steak particulatrly good. The rice pudding dessert with dulche deleche is one to look out for. It's a great little neighbourhood restauarant - if you're nearby highly recommended."

  • "We booked the restaurant before a concert at the Hammersmith Apollo which it is very convenient for (15 minutes walk). Lola and Simon is a great "local" restaurant. It is intimate and has plenty of atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service welcoming and efficient. It is also very good value for money. A real gem and one that we will return to"

  • "Really liked Lola and Simon! Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was overall delicious! the pancakes with salmon were memorable, the empanadas were well seasoned though the dough could be improved. The lamb shank was very good. The veggie ravioli could have had more flavour. The pear with fennel and ginger ice cream was a perfect light note to end the dinner. All dishes came well presented and in a generous portion. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "We had the Argentinean steaks which were charred nicely on the outside while remaining tender inside. Best steak i've had in a while. They at first lost our starter order, but when they discovered this had happened the server came over to let us know (which was nice and honest, much appreciated), and the starters came out very shortly."

  • "A unique small restaurant in amongst the homogenised group of restaurants that we are inundated with in London. It serves Argentian food and has many Argentian wines too. We gave one of the wines a go, I think it was called Tapis which we can highly recommend and it was not pricey. For starters, we both had the squid was spicey and yummy. I had the salmon salad for main which was yummy - nice crunch to it as well as good combinations, perfect for a hot summer's day. My friend had the chicken and there was not much left of it. Staff were also the epitomy of politeness but cool too. All round, good restaurant."
