His philosophy is to use the best seasonal ingredients available on the market from forager herbs to award winning Herdwick lamb.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We went for lunch and really enjoyed it. It has interesting bric-a-brac and stuffed animals inside so there was always something fun to look at. Initially, I was a bit annoyed because the set lunch menu was not the same as the website and the dishes I wanted weren't on the menu. However, everything we ordered was delicious and the service prompt and friendly. It was expensive but not too bad for a French restaurant of class. A good restaurant for a special occasion or if you want to treat someone. I would like to take other family members. Recommended."

  • "I loved les 3 Garcons! It is the 2nd time we went there with my fiancee (first for our 3rd year anniversary and now for our 5th year anniversary). Food is fantastic and service is great. We always go 1h early to enjoy a drink at the trendy Lovers Lounge, owned by the restaurant, that is in the alley just behind it."

  • "A nice venue for a date. Lighting is very dim, and decorations weren't to my taste, but certainly provided a talking point. The food is excellent but the choice is somewhat limited. That said, every dish is prepared with care and portion sizes are very good. The service was impeccable throughout."

  • "Booked for my wife's birthday. Excellent service with just the right amount of attention. Ambience is inspiring. The food was presented in a lovely manner and was very good. Nice selection of wines too. Not cheap but the best restaurants never are."

  • "Unique ambience and great service. Excellent food and a very interesting wine list. Highly recommended for a special occasion."

  • "The restaurant is very nice, spacious and has an interior design which is typical for East London I would say. The food is delicous! We had a Chateau Briant which tasted amazing. Unfortunately it was already a bit cooled down when it came on the table but it tasted so good that I disn't want to return it. The meat came with mashed potatoes and veggies. The service was absolutely great. Out waitress was friendly, funny and approachable and even gave us some tips in case we wanted to cook the dish at home. Very good dining experience!"

  • "Three reasons to go: 1) Wild and eclectic interior 2) Friendly and engaged yet not obsequious staff 3) Menu which really excites with its combinations and selections Three reasons not to go: 1) Hard to really relax in such a theatrical environment 2) Does feel the staff are 'going through the motions' sometimes (insincere perhaps?) 3) The menu could easily be viewed as over ambitious, both intellectually and gustatorily. On balance I would still recommend giving it a try."

  • "You'll find it hard not to marvel at the crazy decor in this place & that decor is a total contrast to its exterior, but Les Trois Garcons is much more than bulldogs in tiaras & other crazy taxidermy! Took my GF here for her birthday & wanted somewhere impressive as she'd taken me to the Waterside Inn for my birthday!! No pressure then. I was most impressed with the service, pretty much faultless IMO. Both of us were very happy with all our 3 courses. Not crazy out of this world dishes but solid across the board."

  • "Having wanted to dine at Les Trois Garcon for many years now I'm afraid I was rather disappointed. The decor was beautiful but it lacked atmosphere and felt rather soulless. The service was a slightly sporadic; not of the level I would expect and the menu slightly unimaginative. Although the food itself was okay, I'd not recommend dining there to friends and over all felt rather underwhelmed."

  • "Had been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, so decided to treat the two of us. First impression when you enter is excellent, great quirky decoration and very nice layout. Service was good throughout. The food however was not up to the standard expected, luke warm on serving and a bad habit of not asking if you want the sauce with the dish. A good example was both a starter and main course which came with separate sauce and on both occasions was poured over the dish in full without even asking if that is what you wanted. Having been to Murano, spent almost the same amount with roughly the same split on wine and food Murano was in the absolutely stunning category and Les Trois Garçons for food is average."

  • "2nd visit to this restaurant and just as good as the first time, the decor is out of this world so much to soak it - the staff are very attentive and helpful and really seem to enjoy working there. The menu is exciting and different and eveything I have tried has been delicious and a bit different. Its a bit pricey but its money well spent - everyone should try it at least once"

  • "Incredible! Never have I tasted a steak like the one I had at Les Trois Garcons - the texture and the flavor were divine. Even the mashed potatoes tasted like heaven! Everything from the appetizers to the dessert were excellent, and beautifully presented. The decor is very hip and well designed. The servers and host were utterly friendly and professional. It was a superior dining experience. Bonus: good people watching!"

  • "Very nice and surprising decoration: touch of barrok with wild animals. But it 's not only about this because the dishes were very good with the little tasty touch of creativity. On top, Service was well-timed and friendly, some wines are affordable"

  • "This is a wonderful date location - especially if you want to set a romantic mood for the evening. The waitstaff is extremely attentive and friendly and the food is quite good. We shared the chateaubriand which was very good. I have to say that the amount of meat was a bit much even when sharing between 2 people but perhaps that was just us ;) Overall fantastic location and a must see stopover in London."

  • "Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. The decor is fun & quirky, the staff are pleasant, friendly and knowlegable and the food was absolutely amazing. I'd read reviews mentioning that they'd felt rushed, but this wasnt the case for our party of five people on a saturday night. Will definately go back and would most definately recommend this restaurant."

  • "The food was very well prepared; harmonious balance of flavours. The atmosphere and decor was both charming and cheeky. The real speciality was the service- the staff were attentive and warm. I loved their enthusiasm. What a lovely experience."

  • "Pretentious, which is fine as long as the food lived up to the pretentiousness. However, the food was sadly very average. They have even got the ingredient name wrong... the banana dessert with tapioca is not tapioca but sago. With this price I expected everything to be 5 stars, but I got a 3 stars quality of food. Disappointing... (Anyway, service was excellent. A lovely cheerful helpful french lady served us.)"

  • "It was amazing, the only critique is thay they tried to rush us a bit too much."

  • "The best service we have ever had - very attentive, helpful and friendly without being intrusive or over familiar. The food was superb. Definitely one of London's top ten but please keep quiet about it or getting a table will be impossible."

  • "Brilliant venue, the décor is fantastic. We went for my husband's 50th birthday and once our waitress found this out she came back with chocolates on a plate with happy birthday in chocolate and a candle! Great food and I have to say that the service was second to none."

  • "We had a very, very nice dinner at the restaurant. We found it through London Town, WHO had them on a list of most romantic restaurants in London. We agree, it is very romantic, and the food is also excellent."

  • "The ambiance at this restaurant is fantastic--like the inside of a Victorian collector's sitting room, the food is interesting and well presented, and the service is OUTSTANDING. From the minute we walked in and were greeted by the lovely French maitre d' to the absolutely extraordinary attention we received from our gorgeous French waitress the staff out did themselves in making our daughter's 21st dinner really special--thank you!"

  • "A friend and I dined at Les Trois Garcons on Friday evening last week and it was the most memorable dining experience we have ever had. It began with a warm welcome by the friendly waitress who's treatment made us feel special. She assisted us with choosing dishes and was helpful with advising us on the appropriate wine for our choice of food. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic meal for two. The décor was eclectic and quirky in a fashionable way. At no point did we feel rushed with our table and our meal was exceptional, as promised. We will be returning on our next visit to Shoreditch and we will be recommending Les Trois Garcons to friends. In comparison to the disappointing Le Caprice, Les Trois Garcons was exceptional!"

  • "Les Trois Garçons has an awesome, quirky and cozy atmosphere. After sipping a vanilla-scented soup elegantly served in espresso cups we were served our starters: seared tuna with salad, and a soup which was poured on the croutons directly at the table. Both of us were very happy, and happily went on to our main course which was the fish of the day for both: a fillet of hake with an orange cream, served on a bed of cous cous. Divine. We washed our meal with a fantastic, fruity Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Our desserts were nice too - even if they were probably the most 'average' part of our meal - we had chocolate sponge pudding and a crème brulée. Service was very attentive and nice and we appreciated that a lot."

  • "Excellent dîner dans une ambiance détendue. Très bon service, efficace mais pas guindé. Carte des vins très correcte. Cuisine raffinée et inventive. Déco "cabinet de curiosités". Très bonne adresse."

  • "Attentive service. Good tasty food at a decent price (the 2 course fixed price menu). we received complimentary truffle veloute, and tiny pastries after our main course, as we were not having dessert. the Veal was a little chewy probably as it was so rare, but still tasty"

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a lovely time – great ambience, food and the best service that I've had in London. I highly recommend a date here."
    dined on 09/11/2013
  • "The food was delicious, the atmosphere fun despite being half-full on a Friday night, and the service some of the best I can remember. It's pricey, but worth it. I would highly recommend."

  • "The ambience was excellent. The food was original and very accomplished. Each dish had a slight Asian twist to the classic French which was very refreshing. Well executed and delivered by informed and friendly staff. Great wines by the glass too. It was an absolute pleasure to have a long, boozy and leisurely Anniversary lunch in such elegant and eclectic surroundings while the rain outside soaked Shoreditch!"

  • "The service from the start was good, the lady that served us was friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was very good especially the fois grais as the starter which was our highlight of the meal. The main and dessert was just as good. Highly recommend this place if you love French food."
    dined on 02/11/2013
  • "Nice ambience, good food, but why such a hurry? Service was to explicitly present. Relax ! For us it all was a bit disappointing."
    dined on 02/11/2013
  • "The positives are that the staff and service are friendly and efficient. The food is good and reasonably priced. The minor negative is that the room (although authentic) gave me the impression that the restaurant is a glorified pub. The enterance area where you wait before being given your table is under whelming and was occupied by a mini cab driver stating he was "cash only , no credit cards" to the group leaving when we arrived."
