Leicester Square Bar & RestaurantI was impressed with the staffI was impressed with the staff here and really enjoyed the food too. A little lacking in atmosphere but as an hotel restaurant that's not too surprising. Also, our reservation was for 6.30pm on a Monday as we had theatre tickets so it may have been busier a little later. Just off Leicester Square, the food was several steps up from most offerings around the square, and the staff were very obliging. And I'll look at this restaurant the next time I'm off to the theatre.18/03/2013 00:00:00Not so hidden gem!Just off Leicester Square we found a superb spot for a great value pre-theatre meal.
£25 pp for a glass of procecco,3 courses and coffee. Can’t really beat that!
Very good quality food, excellent service and lovely décor as well.12/03/2013 00:00:00ExcellentCouldn't fault it, great service, great food and a nice venue02/03/2013 00:00:00Good value with 50% off food offerThis restaurant is part of the Radisson Hotel in Leicester Square. This might put off passing trade (and it is a little off the beaten track behind the National Portrait gallery) and I might not have chosen it had I known. This is probably why there were only two other couples there, which is a shame. The food was good (especially the scallops) if not outstanding and was good value with the 50% offer. The service was great and the decor pleasant with a good view of the pedestrian thouroughfare to the side. There is also a good wine list, including the selection of wines by the glass - for instance the award winning Etchart Torrontes for around £6.31/01/2013 00:00:00A lovely quiet restaurantI have been to the Leicester Sq Bar and Restaurant a few times now, situated in the Raddisson hotel, the restaurant has never been busy strangely - I do not know why as the food has always been good and the service excellent. The 50% off food offer makes the price around £30 each for two courses with Wine, which in this part of London is good value.
The restaurant is not to brightly lit which makes it good for a more romantic occassion or for that someone special.
I would recommend without hesitation.30/01/2013 00:00:00The Salmon & Blini starterThe Salmon & Blini starter was out of this world and would take that every time I'm going back. The seared tuna starter was well put together, on a nicely dressed salad. However, we did miss the seared tuna and potato salad dish we used to come for which I thought was their signature dish, it was so great. This tuna starter only takes second place to that one. Main courses were very tasty too. Best of all was the excellent service provided by our young Lithuanian waiter - charming, highly professional, very attentive without being overbearing, just perfect !! Atmosphere is super and the place is perfectly situated for a pre-theater, romantic outing.29/01/2013 16:00:00Good hotel restaurantVery efficient staff on reception. Restaurant very comfortable with excellent food and service. Certainly worth a further visit. The 50% off deal a welcome bonus.25/01/2013 00:00:00Positively suprisedI met my friend for dinner and we decided to go there. The place was pretty empty and this was weird for Friday, especially that food was really nice and fresh. Good for chat as the place was quiet- food wise - very good and service very pleasant18/01/2013 00:00:00Nice dinner with friendsI went to Leicester Square Bar and Restaurant with a couple of friends. It was quite busy and as a result they had run out of the vegetarian option my friend wanted, leaving her only one choice on the menu. Despite that the food was very tasty and the price was good with the toptable deal.15/01/2013 00:00:00Delicious food and good service.Delicious food and good service. The restaurant was very quiet so lacking in ambience but this was probably due to us having dinner so early!14/01/2013 16:00:00Great restaurantBooked with 50% off a la carte. Starters of scallops were beautifully cooked, succulent and sweet. I had rib eye steak for main and was pleasantly surprised that although it wasn't a thick cut of meat, it was perfectly cooked to medium rare and was delicious, you could taste that it was 28 day hung and not an ordinary piece of beef. I would highly recommend, especially with the offer. Service was good also. Very polite and what you expect at a top restaurant.07/01/2013 16:00:00pre theatre LeicesterSq bar/restaurThis is 2nd time we've booked 50% food off deal and that makes it excellent value! Nice and quiet at 6pm for our pre theatre meal. I would like to see more choice for veggie/fish only eater. Starter scallops wonderful.02/01/2013 16:00:00Pre theatre mealVery good food and service, waiters polite and helpful. Used 50% discount voucher for meal.02/01/2013 16:00:00Lunch before matineeVery comfortable surroundings, delicious food, good value for money. Will book again, next time in London01/01/2013 16:00:00London's Best Kept Secret......Wow. From the moment we walked in, we were really made to feel welcome by both members of the front of house staff at this restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble, both professional and attentive throughout without being intrusive. We sat at the window and watched London race by whilst enjoying some quite superb food and wine. Calamari and Fish cakes for starters - fresh and full of flavour, a real home-cooked feel that carried both substance and the fine dine feel. Not an easy task to nail. Rib Eye steak and Risotto mains - both cooked to perfection, chips cooked the right way, the most delicious sauce. Apple Crumble and Cheese board selection - delicious. Will go again.27/12/2012 16:00:00Pre-theatre relaxationWE had lots of time so had a leisurely lunch. We had a window seat and could watch people entering the library and wandering up St Martins Street.
The food was prompt and very tasty and the mealdeal good value.
A very pleasant experience overall.26/12/2012 16:00:00Great dining placeFood is delicious, services are excellent, relaxing ambience, recommend..22/12/2012 00:00:00oasis in touristy Leicester SquareThis place is my favourite Leicester Square restaurant for dinner get togethers with friends from abroad. Leicester Square is probably one of London's most touristy sites, with bars and restos serving mediocre food which can also be overpriced. This place, however, is a quiet place to have dinner in the midst of it all. It's a hotel's restaurant, so while fancy (that's how my New Yorker friend described it), its character is exactly that-- looks like a nice enough hotel bar. Food is pleasant-- I've ordered fish courses, risottos, meats, and so far they've all been excellent... with the TT 50% deal!22/12/2012 00:00:00Great dining placeWe became regular clients in this restaurant as food is excellent, services are very good...20/10/2012 00:00:00Very nice and CosyThe Leicester Square Bar & Restaurant is a nice find, tucked away in a corner of Leicester square. The interior is pleasant, food very good and i thoroughly enjoyed my experience
Recommended12/10/2012 00:00:00Great dining placeIt became our favourite place to have dinner as the food is delicious, services are great and location of resaturant is very convenient for Theatre, casino and cinema in central London.06/10/2012 00:00:00Excellent location for the Cinema!Right on Leicester Square so couldn't be better located if going to the cinema. the food was every good and the rib eye steak was beautiful.04/09/2012 00:00:00Above average food in a handy venueWe returned to the Leicester Square Bar & Restaurant confident that we would have another excellent meal there - we were not disappointed. I had the lamb and my friends the 'fish and chips', followed by poached pear, brown bread ice cream, crumble and coffees. The service was friendly and attentive and the surroundings very relaxing indeed. This venue is very well situated for pre-theatre meals.31/08/2012 16:00:00A gem in Central LondonVery nice restaurant with great food, and services.. Recommend...18/08/2012 00:00:00Good ExperienceVisited on a Thursday evening with my Auntie and Cousin. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the muffin with poached egg and hollandaise to start and we all had steak for mains. We all had it cooked differently and they were all just right. The service was efficient and friendly and the 50% off food made it extremely good value for money.16/08/2012 00:00:00A hidden GemIf you want to get away from the crowds in Leicester Square head for the Leicester Square Bar and Grill tucked away behind the National Gallery. The top table offer of 50% off the a la carte menu made this unusual value for money. I especially liked the small plates that were perfect as a starter. My calamari was delicious. Our main course of sea bass on salmon risotto was moist and very tasty but a bit too rich. Service was efficient and unrushed, Will definitely return.11/08/2012 00:00:00Leicester Sqare Bar & RestaurantEnjoyable meal here. Tasty food and good value with 50% off. Wines reasonably priced. Service not as good as it has been in past. Had to ask for drinks on arrival, waiter came to take our order before we were given any menus and had to ask twice for water but we did get that on the house because of the delay.02/08/2012 16:00:00Great dining place in the Heart ofOne of our favourite places to eat when going to theater. Food is very tasty, services are excellent and ambience is very relaxing...07/07/2012 00:00:00very good, food was great, very good, food was great, service as well, will go again07/07/2012 00:00:00Not always what you might expectThis is a very small restaurant which was busy for a Tuesday as there were a few large groups. The seats a large armchairs and so it's a great place to just relax and chill out on quieter days. The staff are very friendly and the food is delicious. The only thing is that it isn't always what you might expect. The makeral pate is actually flakes of fish, not a pate at all. The sea bass with smoked salmon risotto is lovely but the risotto is not a side dish but rather the main dish with the fish on top. And the espresso chocolate mousse which I expected to be dark and in a little pot is actually a rather large dessert with white chocolate as well as dark. It was all very tasty so I didn't mind!25/06/2012 16:00:00Good location, good foodWe chose this restaurant based on others' reviews and we were not disappointed. The service was polite and the food was very tasty. With 50% off offer, it was a bargain.18/06/2012 00:00:00Post theatre......After a very enjoyable matinee showing of Ghost, we took a stroll to the Leicester Square Bar & Restaurant. Very relaxed environment, light, airy, clean appearance. Would be great as a first date venue. Took advantage of the 50% offer and both my friend and I enjoyed three courses. I chose the eggs benedict, followed by the lamp rump, cooked medium and the brown bread ice cream. My only criticism was that the cheese board, which was my first choice for dessert wasn't available, which on an early Saturday evening booking wasn't really what I wanted to hear. Would however recommend it and go again.16/06/2012 00:00:00Leicester Square Bar and RestaurantLeicester Square Bar and Restaurant. Surprisingly quiet for a Friday night, which perhaps explains the overly-rapid service (75 minutes for 3 courses - pre-theatre style?). Small hotel restaurant was very comfortable if lacking in atmosphere. Food was good and the portions generous. With 50% off the food this was a good deal - albeit wth predictably pricey wine.26/04/2012 16:00:00Four of us dined at the LeicesterFour of us dined at the Leicester Square Bar and Restaurant on a busy Saturday early evening and would thoroughly recommend it. The surroundings were very pleasant and the service excellent, particularly as we had only 70 minutes for our meal. For mains we chose steak, lamb and the vegetarian salad, and for dessert the chocolate mousse, brown bread ice cream and red wine poached pear. Whilst the mains were excellent value with the TT 50% off offer, the desserts were less so. However a good meal.20/04/2012 16:00:00It is our favorite restaurantIt is our favorite restaurant near Leicester square. Great waitress, bad waiter!13/04/2012 00:00:00My first visit to LeicesterMy first visit to Leicester Square Bar and Restaurant, lovely staff and enjoyed my meal a good deal with Toptable 50% off but would have been over priced otherwise.
Would be nice if they moved the phone away from the dining area that was a little disruptive to the relaxing atmosphere.12/04/2012 00:00:00Great restaurant, very convenientGreat restaurant, very convenient location, tasty food and good services. I recommend it.30/03/2012 16:00:00LEICESTER SQUARE BAR AND RESTAURANTLEICESTER SQUARE BAR AND RESTAURANT is a favourite of mine. It is not overcrowded like so many nearby eateries. It is calm and elegant and the food is great especially with 50% off. Me and my friends meet there a lot and will continue to do so.26/03/2012 16:00:00The menu at the LeicesterThe menu at the Leicester Square Bar and Restaurant had an excellent selection of dishes, in particular fish, which went down very well with two of the party. The food was very good, well cooked and presented. We went for the 50% off the a la carte menu and it was extremely good value for money. A very pleasant evening out.20/03/2012 17:00:00Felt bad for the restaurantFelt bad for the restaurant since works around Leicester Sq meant that even with an address and a booking it was hard to get to the front door! Definitely worth the trouble though. The service was attentive and our questions all answered easily. The starters and mains were good but the as usual the dessert was out of this world. I seriously recommend the brown bread ice cream. Without alcoholic drinks and with a 50% deal, the meal was of good value.20/03/2012 00:00:00Excellent food. Average ambience.Excellent food. Average ambience. Very well located, however directions were a problem as there us a St. Martin's Street and St. Martin's Lane. with the discount offer, it is recommended, before a movie or a comedy show or a play.15/03/2012 17:00:00Leicester Square Bar and RestaurnatLeicester Square Bar and Restaurnat was a real find amongst the average offering available in this area. Saturday lunch was fantastic value with the 50% off food offer. My scallops, followed by the halibut were both delicious, and beautifully cooked. My husband had the smoked salmon followed by a very tender rib-eye steak, cooked as he liked it. We did not have wine, but the prices seemed reasonable. The service was very good, with the Maitre d' very much in attendance and talking with guests.09/03/2012 16:00:00Leicester Square Bar and RestaurantLeicester Square Bar and Restaurant is in a great central location but far from the madding crowd.
