A word from Le Pont de la Tour
By day, you can enjoy our traditional French cooking with a modern accent in the calm of our marine-inspired interior. And by night, the true opulence and elegance of the main dining room awakens against the backdrop of floodlit Tower Bridge.

Executive Head Chef, Tom Cook, has gone back to our traditional roots by recreating favourite classics from the restaurant’s opening menu – including Fruits de Mer, Lobster Pot au Feu and his version of the Crab & Saffron Tart – a salad of white crab meat with saffron mayonnaise and a light crab beignet. For a touch of dining theatre try our Severn & Wye Smoked Salmon, which is carved at your table, or enjoy the show of flambé Crêpes Suzette.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We enjoyed a very relaxed and leisurely birthday lunch with a good choice of food and wine and excellent attentive service ,very patient with a group of 7. Lovely location by Tower Bridge ."

  • "Two things stand out regarding this restaurant: the service and the location. Top class service was provided that happily made me tip. A glorious view as soon as you step out of the restaurant."

  • "2 courses for £20 - great value. Lovely food and very good service. Beautiful view of the river."

  • "We have been before and had the set menu but we decided to push the boat out for a la carte this time and it was so worth it! The food was just exceptional, service was good, needed prompting a couple of times but very pleasant. We had a table outside and just drank in the view of Tower Bridge and the boats whilst drinking a very nice bottle (or two) of Faugeres. We had a toddler with us and the staff were very helpful and accommodating providing a high chair and giving us plenty of space for the buggy. We will return again!!"

  • "Fabulous food and service. Extensive wine list and great ambience. A great dining experience."

  • "Good food at reasonable price but surprised by the Sommellier - said our wine choice was boring and why didn't we try this one that he could recommend instead - only when pushed did he admit that his recommendation was 50% more expensive. Didn't ask him why he sold "boring" wines!"

  • "We came along to Le Pont de la Tour for Sunday Lunch, the restaurant was completely full and there was a great ambience and vibe. The food was exquisite and the service impeccable. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. It really is such a super place to dine with the added bonus of amazing views of Tower Bridge and the River Thames. We cannot wait to make a return visit."

  • "Why have the baldakin out at night when nobody is sitting outside? Took the view o f the bredge away- service saved by the french speaking lady able to communite with my french speaking spouse as main language"

  • "Went for a group dinner to the restaurant. The ambiance, food were excellent. Our group had a great time at the dinner. Good selection of wines. The only caveat would be the Service - which was outstanding in general. However, I did have a moment where I found the staff to be over-bearing. My friend's glass of water was empty. I offered to pour her some water. A member of staff swooped in, literally snatched the bottle from my hand, and poured the water. While I appreciate the attention to detail, not sure I liked having something snatched from my hand like that."

  • "A reliable venue - consistent food and service and, of course, great views"

  • "What can I say? Location, location; fabulous views of Tower Bridge and the City buildings. Beautiful dining area, an excellent menu choice withan extensive wine and drinks list. Covers everyone's taste. A wonderful ambience, I felt I was eating supper in Paris and the waiting staff were so attentive, but not in your face, very helpful and so professional. I would recommend this restaurant, especially for special occasions."
    dined on 25/03/2014
  • "Nice set piece evening. The tasting menu gets interesting when taken with the matching wines. Several great wine choices you'd never go near if going the choose your own bottle route. The food was ok, but venison aside, there was no wow moment, and a couple of them had obviously been prepared and chilled hours earlier. A pet hate."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "We had the set two course menu which was excellent. We asked for a recommendation on the wine as one of us was having pork the other fish and the suggestion was well selected and not too expensive for lunchtime. The cheeseboard was well stocked and the waiter knew about each cheese and region. A definate must. We will go back again."

  • "Great service and delicious food! Can't wait to go back there and hopefully sit outside when it's warmer :)"

  • "A great meal for 4 friends on a Saturday evening - this is a smart but not over formal restaurant . The staff are friendly, helpful and discreet, the setting is swish but not daunting and the food was excellent. The champers is a bit on the expensive side but the rest of the wine list caters for all pockets. And where else do you get that view?"

  • "My wife and I had a lovely evening at le pont de la tour, the service was exceptional and the tasting menu with matched wines was lovely. A faultless experience."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Booked a table for 7 people for a client dinner. The service from the beginning was very slow with the beer mojitos we ordered taking ages to arrive but as they were new to the menu we let it go. However once we were shown to our table I went to move my chair forward and my hand got stuck in some chewing gym that had been stuck under the chair hand rest. This is not something I would expect to find from Le pont de la tour one because I would expect the staff to do a thorough cleanse and two I would have thought that the clientele that ate here would not have done something so disgustingly gross. We waited 25 mins before someone took our wine order. Similar delay dessert came without ordered port. Such a shame that night was let down."

  • "Not particularly impressed - the waiter spilled a tray of drinks on our table which went on my wifes clothes and hair - whilst they were apologetic and offered to cover dry cleaning, we had to ask to move tables as ours was soaked, and after a cnsiderable delay for our initial drinks again - this time in the glass. We were not looking for fast food service but 2 1/2 hrs for the set menu was slow - it was not a busy evening. No offer to reduce the bill for the disruption to our meal. We will not be back or recommend Le Pont de la Tour."
    dined on 19/03/2014
  • "We had the 5 course tasting menu with a flight of wines and I have to say it was gorgeous. I would most definitely go back and would like to try the a la carte. The service was wonderful and a lovely commis sommelier."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "We had to wait quite a long time before they took our order: it was almost as if they had forgotten us- but they did apologise for the delay when they did eventually come to take our order. The starters we had were nice and we had 3 different types between 4 people- also they brought round plenty of bread which was good. My main course was guinea fowl and that was very tasty and succulent but my husband had the pork and that was very fatty. I was disappointed with my chocolate pudding as the base was like a rock and it was very dry. The others in my group thought their puddings were ok."
    dined on 17/03/2014
  • "Really good food and good value for money with the 2 courses offer at £20. Without the offer it's expensive. The service was good and the fact that they would make a vegetarian dish to suit your needs was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this restaurant! AS"
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "Reception had my two guests sitting outside and even though boooked as my party, had no idea that they had arrived, thus we were directed to sit in the bar and wait. My partner got fed up waiting and went outside and then found them thus wasting at least 15 minutes hanging around, need to tighten up here. No complaints on the food or service, But asked for for 3 after lunch Grappa and got charged £58.50 for the pleasure. Thus enjoy the food but beware the very pricey drinks here as you need to be a city banker to pay these outrageous prices"

  • "I dine here most weeks for both personal and business purposes. Never had a bad experience"
    dined on 13/03/2014
  • "Another delicious dinner at Pont De La Tour. The service was impeccable, as always, and the view of Tower Bridge as spectacular as ever. Despite being a cold March evening, we were warm under the (environmentally unfriendly!) outdoor heaters, sat out on the terrace in the fresh air. It was good enought for Blair to take Clinton to, and it was good enough for us too! Highly recommended."
    dined on 12/03/2014
  • "We went for the tasting menu and every dish was delicious. Unfortunately, we we're still hungry when we left...but yah! The sommelier recommended an outstanding wine that went well with all dishes. Nothing to complaint about and would definitely return."

  • "Service was impeccable, food very nice, although portions are quite small. Great views in the vening, good for a business liunch or a romantic dinner - they have tables outside, overlooking the water"

  • "I dined with an Australian visitor and had the most fabulous time - the view is stunning under tower bridge lit up at night; food scrumptious and service was spectacular!thank you!"

  • "Great lunch for two at LPDLT. Wide range of a la carte choices and excellent value set menu. Friendly, efficient service and a fabulous location. Will be back soon"

  • "I chose this restaurant on a recommendation from a foodie friend of mine as i wanted a restaurant with great views and great food. This excelled in both and plus the decor is perfect for both intimate meals or food with friends I mentioned to the staff that i would be proposing to my Girlfriend beforehand so they arranged a table with the best views and treated us like royalty for the evening. Having said that, they seemed to treat all diners with the same high standards. So all this and a set 2 courses menu @ £20.00 p/p or 3 courses for £25.00 makes this unbelievable value!!! Hopefully this restaurant will be around for along time as i would like to celebrate future anniversary's here with the Mrs to be!"

  • "Having dined her many times before we dined here last Saturday, five of us, for my daughter's special birthday. We were shown to our table and served water and given our menus.......and that was it for FIFTEEN minutes. We eventually caught they eye of the Sommelier to order a bottle of champagne and he then informed the Head Waiter for our section to come over. We took the tasting menu which had the wines with each course. The food was excellent and the Sommelier was great fun, explaining the wines to us. Again, the service was a let down at the end of the evening as one of our party had already left when they eventually brought out a decorated birthday cake for my daughter. We want to go back...perhaps it was a blip with the service"

  • "Lovely meal. Service was very good. Ordered from the set menu du jour and got free petit fours. Great value."
    dined on 07/03/2014
  • "We dined from the Set menu which had a reasonable selection of varied dishes ( 4 per course). The starters were all delightful but the mains were less exciting, though perfectly edible. The desserts that followed were more exciting to look at and to the taste. We've been before and will come again. Maybe we'll be looking at the al a carte for more enticing main meals"

  • "A gem excellent service very good food and a view to die for from the terrace in the early spring sunshine"

  • "Took my wife to Le Pont de la Tour for her Birthday; food was very good as was the service; the restaurant was fairly busy so had a good buzz; helped by a impromptu aria from a lovely singer (It was performed to a nearby table). So overall very happy, although the bill was a little steep for what we actually had."

  • "We went for a birthday lunch and had requested a window table. The view over the river and Tower Bridge was lovely. We had the tasting menu with wine. The food was beautifully presented and very enjoyable The sommelier was informative and the service was excellent. We arrived at 1.30 and it was almost 5 by the time we left, we were actually encouraged to stay as we're given a complementary glass of champagne and some cake to celebrate our birthdays Highly recommended"
