A word from Kopapa
Kopapa is an all day restaurant located in Seven Dials, Covent Garden and is the second London offering from world-renowned chef Peter Gordon, co-founder of The Providores & Tapa Room in Marylebone Village. Kopapa serves fantastic breakfasts all week and is truly one of London's hottest brunch spots at weekends.

The all day menu offer is an international culinary adventure and a showcase for Peter’s wonderful cuisine. Whether it’s a mid-week lunch, pre-theatre supper, or a special dinner with a group of friends, Kopapa offers an exciting dining experience in the heart of the West End. The cocktail offering is innovative, the wine list concise but comprehensive and the bar - one of theatre land's best. And if sitting and sipping as the world passes by is your thing, the outdoor terrace provides Covent Garden’s best vantage point. Kopapa also offers delicious post theatre supper - and remember, we are always happy to cater for larger groups and children.

  • "Expensive wine, not particularly nice food and an odd menu..."

  • "Tasty, quick & easy - enjoyable lunch on a business day - go to gem in Seven Dials."

  • "Me and my family went here after a saturday matinee, great value and set menu. Can't wait to go again, this time with friends :)"

  • "Good food - slightly different to the norm - and quick service. Not somewhere to spend a leisurely evening as they want you in and out again. Not huge helpings but enough."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Lacking a sense of individuality inside. Needs to stick to a particular course and type of food as at the moment it lacks identity. Wine superb. Food v. good. Service not particularly good and staff gave off a cold vibe. Needs a makeover and table layout just seems claustrophobic. Would go again if it had a revamp."

  • "But I thought the ambience was lacking. and staff was a bit slow to get the attention of. However, it was a Monday night and the restaurant was packed! Will go again, but for brunch/lunch. not dinner"

  • "So glad we chose to try Kopapa! We were a little late but the staff weren't fussed and were very accommodating, as we were 1 more, laying for us a table outdoors. The portions of food was quite big, and service quick. I had the 'Turkish Eggs' which was scrumptious and my friend had the chorizo hash which she said surprised her, it was tastier than she had expected, while my husband enjoyed the french toast. Altogether a good breakfast!"

  • "Eggs were amazing and service was very efficient. Just very noisy!"

  • "Nice food but noisy I booked through Toptable for 5:30pm which allowed me to take advantage of the special menu which was a very good deal. When I arrived the restaurant was nice and quiet and the ambience was very pleasant. At about 5:45pm some terribly noisy drilling began which went on for another 30minutes. When the drilling finally stopped the restaurant became very busy, which made it again difficult to talk and to hear my friend. In general I would say that it is a very nice place, with an excellent location and very good menu if you get there when it is virtually empty (I assume the drilling was an exception). Otherwise it is very busy and noisy and it feels more like a railway station place than a restaurant in Central London."

  • "I booked a table for 8 for a birthday as I love the food and wine list here. Service was a bit sloppy on the larger table ie waitress passed food across the front other diners because wasn't aware who had ordered what and waiting for wine glasses for the table. This isn't great when they are are adding a service charge."

  • "Had the turkish eggs and chorizo hash, they were both delightful. Coffee was not bad but not fantastic either. But service was really good!"
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "Very original blend of Eastern and Western style dishes - we had a selection of 7 starters to share and they were all lovely. The scallops, Inari with coconut sauce, hake with poached egg - all excellent and highly recommended. Only let down of the restaurant is the closeness of the tables, where the waiters and waitresses struggle to squeeze by and the density of the sound - when the restaurant was full we had to raise our voice levels just below shouting to have a table conversation! Still overall, the quality and originality of the food means that this restaurant definitely deserves to be recommended - just go a bit a later when it's quieter!"

  • "Being very excited about this visit, we were very let down. Poor selection and overpriced on menu, then when we decided on a burger in desparation, having specified clearly to the waitress we did not want bacon on the burger, we were served burgers with bacon. When we sent these back explaining and told to expect a 10 minute wait for new burgers, the burgers came back immediately and it was clear that the bacon had just been removed. The waitress confirmed this was the case and could not understand our expectation that the burgers should be made freshly as we had religious reasons for wanting no bacon. We left the restaurant as it was not worth our time and money. Disappointing."

  • "We has a collection of the small plates. All were inventive, complex flavours that seemed to work resulting in delicious flavours beautifully presented. As a celebrity chef restaurant the overall experience was let down by slow service and poor attention to detail by the waiting staff. We waited almost 10 mins to be seated to our pre booked table, had to ask for a 3rd menu and then get it ourselves. Several tables were left messy around us. A real shame as would like to return but would need the service levels to be stepped up."

  • "our meal at Kopapa was great. the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. Unusual flavours and fusion dishes. fries with rosemary salt were awesome. nice setting. service fine. would re-visit and recommend. it was really nice. Not awesome and incredible but really nice."

  • "Having heard raving reviews about Kopapa, I was very excited to finally eat there. The ambience was somewhat drab for a venue with such an exciting menu and location. We opted for the pan-fried scallop and the plantain, feta and sweet potato tortilla for our small plates. The scallop was divine, and everything else was an interesting combination of flavours that worked well together but I felt the portions were a tad skimpy. We shared a main that was the pork belly with rice noodles in a lime broth. The crackling was delicious and the broth unusual but was definitely not worth the price. Our chocolate and salted caramel sundae was unusual, but not in the good way. Fantastic cocktails though, however - loved the chilli-mango magarita."

  • "Food was good, coffee was even better. Staff were a little bit pushy as they wanted the table vacated by a certain time."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "While admittedly not a cheap dinner out, the food was very tasty and lots of interesting vegetarian options. Really liked the casual feel, went between the pre- and post-theatre rushes and the service was good."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Excellent food and service. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Vegetarian starter was amazing I always go for a meat option but the tortilla sounded good and didn't disappoint."
    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "We had the toptable £24/95 deal for 3 courses from a set menu. Food was pretty good, but nothing to rave on about. For starters we had plantain, feta &sweet potato tortilla, and miso aubergine, green beans, pickled ginger & crispy shallots. The pan fried sea bream (mains) was good but too salty. Atmosphere was busy but relaxed - somewhere to eat for a chat with friends but not for romance."

  • "As a big fan of Providores I was very keen to try Peter Gordon's latest restaurant. Staff were friendly and efficient but the food did not live up to expectations. As it was lunchtime I opted for 2 starters and my friend for a small salad followed by the Caesar salad. My squid to start was good: lightly spiced in a tempura like batter with sesame seeds but the Plantain and sweet potato frittata, was a solid, stodgy lump and totally unappetising. My friends Caesar salad was unremarkable and unattractive with halved boiled eggs plonked on the top. Whereas at Providores one can't resist the dessert menu, here we didn't even want to look at it. Perhaps it was just a bad day,but so disappointing .we'll stick to Marylebone in future."

  • "The staff were attentive and provided first class service. The food was excellent."
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "I was disappointed with Kopapa, having gone there with high expectations. For my large plate I had sautéed shiitake gnocchi, the only large vegetarian plate on the menu. It was average - the gnocchi itself was tasty but the remainder was bland and without texture. The side of grilled broccolini had a strange flavour that was part caramelisation, part burned. The peanut butter parfait for dessert, however, was absolutely delicious. The service was mixed, one waiter was very professional, the others were sloppy, interrupting conversations on a number of occasions to ask who was eating which dish. The restaurant space itself was a surprise, feeling much more like a cafeteria than a restaurant - it was too crowded and too brightly lit."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "I loved the busy atmosphere at the restaurant. The food was delicious although I would say portions could have been bigger. I came for Sunday brunch and it was packed. Not suitable for group bookings as they squashed 5 of us onto a table for 4 but the service was great. WOuld definitely go back again."
    dined on 26/01/2014
  • "Our food was good, but at the same time not outstanding (we had eggs with grilled veggies, so it's kind of difficult to do much wrong / to stand out). Prices were high, but compared to other central London restaurants relatively normal - you pay for the location. The reeason why we would still not really recommend the restaurant is the ambience: it was incredibly crowded with hardly a square meter of space that was not packed with tables and chairs. The room also has bad acoustics, so we could hardly follow a normal conversation without shouting at each other..."

  • "Nicely cooked and presented brunch. Friendly staff, buzzy atmosphere."
    dined on 23/03/2014
  • "Generally a poor experience, this place gets too busy for not sure what reason. The atmosphere is not particularly engaging. Overall is ok, but not mind blowing as I have heard."
    dined on 23/03/2014
  • "Everything is priced randomly - for a brunch meal the prices are reasonable, but they ask 3.50 for a slice of toast, 11.50 for a prosecco cocktail, and 4 for HALF an avocado. The staff we found unreliable, the waitress forgot to bring my tea, didn't tell my friend they were out of tomatoes for her order, and completely disappeared after we were finished. The food we did have was pretty good, but we won't be going back."
    dined on 23/03/2014
  • "Wonderful set menu for pre-theatre dining, with easily the most imaginative vegetarian food I've ever eaten at a non veggie restaurant! Second only to Vanilla Black, but for a fraction of the price. Genuinely lovely service from all the staff, who seem to really enjoy their jobs and love Kopapa. Also great for weekend brunch - delicious French toast, and banana/orange smoothie! I'll be back!"
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "Six of us went to kopapa for a pre-theatre meal...I'd booked it on a deal but was a little disappointed as there was not a lot of choice on the menu..very small portions although what we did have was good.. A small friendly place but a bit cramped although the staff were very helpful..."

  • "This is a relaxed restaurant / bistro which caters brilliantly for those who are looking for something different, but also caters brilliantly for those with dietary requirements. I mentioned the latter when booking online and they called me to reassure me there would be a wide variety of choice and to check if there was anything else I required. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was lively and pleasant. A wonderful way to start the evening as we were later heading off to the theatre. The food was delicious with flavours and textures that were fun and creative without being odd. We would certainly be going back to try some of the other items on the menu as we were spoilt for choice."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "The restaurant was a bit small with a lot of tables squeezed into a small space. No feeling of privacy, not really fit for a romantic night out. The food was limited in it's choice but acceptable if going for a quick dinner before theatre or somewhere else. The service is not the best for a busy location. Had to ask for each course as had theatre tickets, we gave them plenty of time but they were not very good at keeping up. Our table was squashed and asked to be changed. This caused 5 minutes of confusion and then being told that the table I asked for was not available. 10 minutes later it was given to another couple who had not booked. On the whole an OK experience but I would not rush back."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "I wrote a really detailed review on why this was rubbish but couldn't submit it because "Your review text contains inappropriate language." which is random as it didn't. Anyway, this place sucks, so don't go."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Tables very close together. Food is nothing special. Drinks are over priced for the quality. However, we had a perfectly nice time, but I wouldn't choose to go back."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "The food, service, ambience and value were very good. We loved the meals we ordered from the small plates menu, especially the eggplant and calamari and scallop. The service was friendly, helpful and accommodating!.I would highly recommend for a pre and post theatre meal. The desserts were also delicious! Kopapa was highly recommended by friends who had been there for breakfast. I would also highly recommend the Salted Caramel milkshake."
    dined on 19/03/2014
  • "Had breakfast here after an overnight stay at a small covent garden hotel with no restaurant. The spiced banana french toast was both delicious and unusual, there were other choices on the menu I would like to have tried too so will have to revisit if I get another opportunity. Staff and service were very good."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "We were looking for a quick bite pre-theatre. While the food was good, portion sizes are tiny. The pre-theatre menu is quite good value though and it seems that the menu changes fairly frequently."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Went to Kopapa to meet a friend and the ambience was lovely jut very noisy needed to shout a bit to talk to each other but service was great the food was lovely and the desert was mouth-wateringly lovely would recommend the blood orange creme brûlée!"
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "The food here is second to none. An outstanding New Zealand 'cafe', that combines flavours and textures in a way that both surprises and delights. Their Turkish Eggs are unmissable, and their Bloody Mary recipe unique - if you haven't tried them, you haven't had brunch in London in my opinion. This is my favourite mid-morning, or pre-theatre dining spot. Low key, excellent quality and outstanding service. Book in advance for weekend brunch, or dinner."

  • "Glorious variety of food, very inventive combinations. Not cheap but great fun and good variety across the menu. Lovely, welcoming and very adaptible staff. Readily on hand and happy to adapt to our various requests."
