Diner Reviews
  • "When you dine in a restaurant that is meant to have great reviews and good food, you really don't expect to see a mouse running across the floor close to where you are dining, however this is exactly what happened when a group of 10 of us dined in Kenza on Tuesday 8th April."
    dined on 08/04/2014
  • "I love Kenza and have been many times so far. The food is super delicious, the ambience and décor add to the whole experience, the service also makes you feel quite special. One of my fav places in London!"
    dined on 05/11/2013
  • "It was excellent! The variety of starters was what we enjoyed the most! More than enough food served for the 3 course meal, absolutely wonderful! Would definitely visit again."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "Good choice of mezze, with free additional bread. Main course barely warm, and we waited ages for it to arrive, after trying to clear our starters twice, when we hadn't actually finished them. Tables are for two hours only - then you get moved on into the bar. Belly dancing girls were excellent, and encourage you to dance with them, but they don't force you, if you are not wanting to dance. Nice ambience, but cavernous, so not the place for an intimate meal."

  • "Good food, great value Lebanese wine, great atmosphere, very friendly staff and enjoyable entertainment made our Saturday evening here thoroughly enjoyable. I will definitely come here again. The staff dealt with my food intolerances very well, which always impresses me as so many places don't."
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Took my Girlfriend out for a meal on friday night but ended up in what looks and is set up as a nice restaurant but with music so loud you cannot hear each other talk. I looked around and no couples or families were talking as the music was too loud, all we could do was sit and eat. I asked them to turn it down but they cannot."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "Excellent food. A shame the music was too loud as we couldn't talk to our group."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "We really enjoyed the food but felt that the music was too loud when the belly dancers came. It was louder than a club and a bit unsuitable for dinner. Rest was great, really enjoyed they food and total experience."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "I booked this meal as a birthday meal for my mum. The venue was nice and the decor and soft furnishings made you forget that you were in the heart of East London but onstead felt more like centre of the city - chic and plush, no expense spared. Wish I could say the same for the service. From the very beginning we were constantly reminded either verbally or by way of clearing up before we'd even finished the last bite of a course in our mouths that we were on a tight time schedule and that they need the table back in exactly 2hours. At one point my mum's plate was almost taken away just as she was reaching for the last pastry from her starters, despite acknowledging she hadn't finished the waiter continued to wipe up the table with his cloth"

  • "Business dinner, but in relaxed atmosphere with really nice varied food options"

  • "Finally ended up going to this restaurant after having to cancel several times. Food & ambience were excellent, service was great. Staff very attentive. Belly dancers were great fun. Although it is pricey, I would definitely go again."

  • "Kenza is the perfect location for a team night out with decent food, and an hourly belly bancer visiting the tables to liven up the atmosphere. The food is tasty and has good options for everyone. It is a little bit toppy in price but considering the location just 3mins walk from Liv St Station its worth it."
    dined on 06/03/2014
  • "Went to kenza with a few friends for the first time for dinner. It was amazing, the food, service and entertainment was excellent! The place is absolutely stunning and I definitely reccomend it to everyone. Will be visiting again! :)"

  • "I was impressed with Kenza, the staff were courteous and the food was delicious. Quite a romantic ambience and the belly dancers were great. Overall a good experience though a little pricey."
    dined on 24/02/2014
  • "Visited on a Friday night. Restaurant is located in the basement, very Romantic/Exotic(Arabic) atmosphere with low/warm lighting. The service was very good, enough waiting staff so easy get their attention to order more drinks and arrived promptly. Just had a lot of Mezze (no mains), and the food was amazing - the best we've had in a long time in London. The Mint tea is really nice (fresh mint and lots of sugar). 7.30 the music goes up in volume and 3 belly dancers dance between the tables for about 20 mins. Probably not everyone's taste, but we really enjoyed it - something different that you don't see often in London. Nice place for a romantic date. The only down side was that we ate way too much food."

  • "On first arrival the decor is beautiful and makes you feel like you're in Northern Africa. We went for an informal business meeting, everyone was impressed with the interior and feel of the place and the food was just as good! Entertainment in the form of belly dancers added to the evening. A great place that I would recommend to anyone who loves Lebanese/North African cuisine. Staff were friendly and welcoming and make great cocktails. This could easily become my new favourite restaurant!"

  • "We had some visitors from the Netherlands over and we took them here for an evening out. The food was great and I loved the belly dancing which was also interesting for our guests. Not too sure if Belly Dancing is to everyone’s taste but I recommend going with an open mind and giving it a try. The meat was tender and well-seasoned and the other dishes were also very flavoursome. It was also very good value for money. I am a tough critic and so it is very rare that I would give any restaurant a 5. The music is quite loud so I wouldn't suggest going here for a quiet time..... but hey go and check it out for yourself."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "The atmosphere is really nice and cosy to the detail. I thought it was a great way to spend an evening during the weekend. The music was great and we got to dance quite a bit while only planning to have a dinner. They also have belly dancer which were not tacky in away but actually really entertaining. I thought that this was a perfect way to catch up with some friends and feeling that it's the weekend without hitting the clubs. Loved that there were lot's of healthy options on the menu, very nice both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "Lovely evening at kenza for my friend's 30th. Very accomodating, especially regarding disabled access. We weren't rushed and food arrived at good intervals. Only criticism? For four girls there was far too much food and we could barely touch our main courses! We would have been better with two set menus between four."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "We enjoyed our evening at Kezan. The restaurant is down two flights of stairs in the basement. We were fine but I could not see any lift for someone with walking difficulties. The restaurant has a rich ambience and is quite spacious. The menu has a good range of food to suit all tastes and the wine list is well suited for the cuisine. We enjoyed our starterss, they were plentiful and tasty. The service was quick initially and then appeared to slow down and waiters had to be called to draw their attention. The belly dancing was also enjoyable. The bill at the end appeared a little pricey but I suppose you pay for the name and the ambience. We will return but, perhaps, only for lunch or a special occasion"
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "Poor service. Extremely expensive . I had good time on New Years eve. I though we will have good time on Valentin day. But the service was poor. Food was little for the 119 pounds. No soft drink."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "I have visited Kenza several times with different groups of friends and each of which have loved the food and ambiance. It is perfect for group bookings, dates and special occasions. I booked this restaurant for my birthday recently and thoroughly enjoyed the food, entertainment and service. The location is perfect too! I managed to find parking on the back streets in the evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant! :)"
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Went on a Thursday evening. The belly-dancers were out for a couple of sessions including the obligatory loud music. The mezze portions are small for the price. The service was indifferent. Food is decent enough Lebanese fare, but nothing exceptional. It's just pricey compared to what you can get at Noura or on Edgware road."
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "Third visit to Kenza; still love the decor, the food and the waitstaff are extremely attentive. We went on a Saturday night this time and boy is it noisy in there. When the belly dancers come out they crank the music up to 11, and after 9pm there's a live DJ. Not the best for a romantic meal! The quality of the food will mean we'll come back, though probably during the week."
    dined on 01/02/2014
  • "Disabled diners beware: there's a long flight of stairs down to the restaurant. But the Middle Eastern decor that greets you is is fabulous, and the staff are charming. The menu is interesting, and quality of the food and presentation can't be faulted. The only drawback is that the restaurant is surprisingly large, and obviously caters to parties of exuberant businessmen; the last time we were there (for luncheon) the noise level was almost unbearable."
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "I took my work mates to this venue on a friday night we chose the winter set menu, and what a great choice! the starters and mains were lovely and very decent portions too, we were all stuffed along with mint tea and baklava. Kenza staff gave us great service and food was great not to mention the belly dancers and the dj played some excellent music, that we didnt want to leave! great night out and amzing ambiance."
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "Great food here, not one part of food to fault! I was told by someone who recommened it saying great food but service not so good but it seems there have been improvements on the service as the staff we had were great and helpful! The atmosphere was great along with the decor. I can on Friday 24th jan 2014 for booking for 2 under Kerry! I will return and recommend."
    dined on 24/01/2014
  • "The restaurant is a special basement with good food, good music and funny people! It makes us happy! it is expensive but for a special dinner is ok! The service is really good! The belly dancers are really nice! I think we will come back."
    dined on 25/01/2014
  • "Food was good and in large portions, although quite expensive. Service was poor however. I had to ask for a drink 3 times, and when we told the waiter we would prefer to order our main course once we have finished starters, he was rude and adament that we must order. He then continued to be rude until we placed our order. Overall experience was good, nice decor and atmosphere."
    dined on 25/01/2014
  • "Excellent all round. Food was fab, entertainment was fab and service was fab."
    dined on 25/01/2014
  • "We had a lovely anniversary evening. Once you get over slight embarrassment of the belly dancers it is great fun. The food was delicious."
    dined on 23/01/2014
  • "went for a team lunch, 6 of us had one of the tables sectioned off on the side. Great for groups, gives you privacy away from the rest of the restaurant. I've heard its great at night, during lunch the service wasnt great but food was good!"
    dined on 21/01/2014
  • "Food was great and the ambience was amazing! Music, dancing and smiles all around! Waiters were accommodating and the food was on time."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "I love the relaxed feel of this place - like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. I really enjoyed Lamb shoulder. very friendly staff made us welcome. enjoyed belly dancing"

  • "We had our works Christmas do (in January) at Kenza as we wanted something a bit out of the ordinary. Really impressed with everything; food was great, service excellent, ambience relaxed/fun, and the belly dancers made the evening really special (especially for the guys!). Highly recommend"

  • "Went to Kenza for lunch with a friend from work. The entrance is a little hard to find (the door is spectacular) and the restaurant is fully underground. The decor is beautiful with well judged lighting which makes for a great ambience. Food was great and the staff were clearly experienced and asked if we wanted starters and mains together for speed. Not the cheapest meal. Chairs are a little low which for me meant an uncomfortable sitting position."
    dined on 15/01/2014
  • "I have been to Kenza many times on weekdays but I wouldn't recommend weekends. This was the first time I had been on a Saturday and it wasn't a great experience. Although the belly dancers are great and lovely to watch the music comes on , it's so loud and on longer than normal that you can't actually talk to each other. The waiter couldn't hear us to take our order, the only way to communicate was to point at the menu but impossible to ask questions regarding the menu. The table next to us were practically shouting which meant we had to ensure the details of their conversation also. It wasn't the romantic evening I had hoped for so wouldn't recommend weekend visits but weekdays are better. Food is always great !"

  • "Ambience good Belly dancers friendly and good at what they do Food is very good!"
    dined on 28/12/2013
  • "The belly dancers had begun on arrival. They're often non-Arab these days which is fine if the dancing is authentic, traditional and good but unfortunately it was not. Shortly afterwards the DJ began with the most random music from Arab to chart to RnB to dance to cheesy 70s and 80s. This with the flashing lights gives it a party feel which was nice for an occasion. It took about 40 mins to get our first drink but the food arrived fairly quickly thereafter. The waiter was pleasant but slow but moved us to a booth when available. The tagines were very bland & mixed grills were nice but not fantastic.Yes a macmillan donation without asking is frustrating but when paying about £40pp without alcohol £1 isn't going to make much difference!"
