It had a lovely ambiance and we looked forwards to the meal. The food is delicious - you have to try the fried goats cheese with beetroot carpaccio and the sticky toffee pudding is amazing! And the ambience is just lovely. The set menu is great value, otherwise it can get a bit expensive. My only real criticism is the lack of vegetarian (inc non-fish) options - there's only two mains options. We were not disappointed! My duck confit was particularly delicious and has recently been improved even further by the touch of (deep-fried?) granted orange peel giving it a deliciously intense burst of orange. My wife's calves liver was also lovely. The food is excellent, portions are generous and well presented. The staff and service are outstanding - most of the team have worked there as long as we have been going there. They do a great job, they clearly value what they do and are valued by the restaurant - a combination that any business would do well to emulate.
The menu is well balanced and they retain their classic dishes whilst gently rotating through new items. This keeps the menu fresh yet focused on the high quality of the dishes that they have perfected.

Joanna's had always looked like a good place to go, so I'm glad I decided to book a table. The staff were very friendly and we opted for some bellinis whilst we chose from their set menu option and a wide wine list. The duck starter was excellent and nice main course and tasty desserts really mad the meal great.

Was beautiful. Meat was succulent and not at all stingy with the portions. The Yorkshire was massive and good quality. Potatoes was also nice, as were the spring greens.

They never fail to disappoint and seem to be always fairly busy. On this occasion we ate on an early Friday evening.
The service was attentive and friendly and the food was very prompt in arriving.
I enjoyed having a view of the kitchen and seeing our meals being put together.
The asparagus starter, scallops main and chocolate tart were all lovely. But my companions seem to be in fits of ecstasy over the calves liver and pork belly mains they had.
