We had been travelling in London, Paris and Amsterdam and we all agreed that the experience we had at your restaurant was the best we'd had in our two weeks of travel.

As I am a gold card member we received a good table and some free "tasters" before the start of the meal which was a nice touch. The service was great and out waitress was very attentive and had a good knowledge of the menu.
The starters were nice, not outstanding and maybe could have been a little hotter but there was no problem with them. My boyfriend and I both chose the pork for the main course, which although very nice was a disappointingly small portion for the price. It was enough for me as I am not a big eater but my boyfriend was still very hungry at the end of the meal.

The restaurant is housed in an old bank and the interior designer has done a fantastic job of harnessing the old features in to the new restaurant layout which adds to the overall ambience and character. The restaurant layout, with encorporates several dining areas, caters for large groups as well as couples and smaller parties. Food is not only very good value but the quality is first class and a huge leap above the "chain" Italian restaurants but for similar prices. My scallops were really too small as a main course but to be fair the waitress did warn me, chocolate brownie with popcorn made up for it. My brother had the truffle pasta and rated it as the best pasta he had ever eaten. Where we were initially seated was quite noisy, so asked to be moved, which we were, with a minimum of fuss and barely any delay. Aside from this, our experience was exceptional. Our youngest daugther once had showed us in tv that Jamie Oliver was a very interesting person, so we have seen his cooking a lot of times and have bought his cookbooks. Staff were delightful without being in your face and the waiter who looked after our table was outstanding - his name was Kristoff. What a delightful young man. The food was lovely and so was the wine. The ambience was very good and this is definitely going to be a great success for Jamie's chain. Only downside for me is because of my allergies to Onions, leeks, Chives and shallots I was restricted to what I could order from the menu as all of their sauces contained onions or shallots. However as we eat out a lot I am usually offered the meal with another sauce without the onions or shallots but not on this occasion.!! We had looked at the menu before arriving and noticed that their was an a la carte and set menu. When we got there we weren't given the set menu which we decided we wanted to try. We asked the waiters d he went to check whether we could have it which we were told we could. Supposedly we were meant to ask about this on booking however as far as we are aware this isn't mentioned anywhere. Only a very minor blip. We were located on second floor,and our waitress was outstanding. We think her name was Tracy, and treated us with kind, respect and charm all over the dinner.
