A word from India Quay
Glasgow"s India Quay triumphantly pairs traditional Indian cuisine with urban chic. Adjacent to the newly redeveloped Finnieston area, this restaurant overlooks the banks of the River Clyde, providing awe-inspiring views of the city's Squinty Bridge in the distance. India Quay's menu is made up of long-established Indian favourites, but they do have a few surprises up their sleeve. The restaurant's stark black and white interior oozes understated style - though dashes of flamboyance accentuate the space. Their cutlery, for instance, is specially designed to balance at right angles, creating an eye-catching visual illusion that will intriguingly play on your eyes throughout the meal. It's the little details that make India Quay's individuality stand out above the rest.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Perfect for post evening concert dining at SECC/HYDRO/Clyde Auditorium (5 mins walk) Food & service both very high quality"
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "India Quay has a nice, broad view of the Clyde and Squinty Bridge, and is handy for the SECC, Hydro and South Side in general. But what makes it great is the service - I found the staff to be efficient, friendly and courteous. The food is tasty, arrives swiftly and hot, and is readily adapted to preferences and dietary requirements. The surroundings are clean and pleasant and prices are reasonable. The lemony refreshing hand cloths are a nice touch! I would recommend to anyone who likes Indian food and is in the area."

  • "Lovely food. Arrived quickly and nicely presented. Staff helpful and attentive. Hot towels for hands, good plus!"

  • "Went to India Quay for a meal with my daughter before we went to the Hydro (very handy for the Hydro, SSEC...). Meal was lovely, well presented and staff were very friendly and helpful. Toilets spotless. Great value for money too - we had the pre theatre menu. Will be back."

  • "Decided to go local at the last minute, and booked the nearest place on toptable. Fabulous welcome - they remembered us passing the previous night (for good reasons I hope), and gave us a delightful table "a deux" in the window. An excellent menu, with plenty of variety and a number of dishes that were beyond the standard fare. The staff were all really personable and appeared to make time for you without being overbearing. Poppadums were served with a great fresh onion salad, mango chutney that didn't seem bulk manufactured and seemingly a home-made raita. The mixed starters were delicious; a variety of textures, flavours and content that set taste buds aflutter. Mains even better - recommended is Lamb Desi. You should try here."

  • "We had the evening buffet. Good selection of choices, and all were very tasty. Waiters are helpful and friendly. Will be going back to try the A la Carte menu."

  • "Really great food... Nicest vegetarian option I've had for a long time. In my top 5 Indian restaurant across the uk... Wish I lived nearer! Lovely service, chatty waiter but not over bearing."
    dined on 19/03/2014
  • "We went for a meal before a concert, easy access for the hydro. The food was lovely and the service was quick without feeling rushed. When we finished our meal the manager asked if we could finish off at the reception area as he had a table book but more people had came along with the party and he needed our table. We were ready to leave anyway but he insisted that we had a drink on the house and offered us tea or coffee. In my opinion this was great customer service he was genuinely concered that he hadn't rushed us or offended us in any way. I will definitely be back !!!"

  • "The quality of food was very good. The setting is nice. The staff were lovely. My only gripe was that there was a table of 7 in the middle and one lady was so loud the whole place was looking at her. She even had an air horn! The management should really have said something to her."
    dined on 15/03/2014
  • "It was nice. Very tastey yum yum. I liked my meal, a lot. So did my lovely dining partner"

  • "Pre show meal @ the hydro - for one veggie and one meat eater. Restaurant was busy but service was prompt and food was hot & tasty enough. Reasonable Value for Money. Good servings. Modern take on Indian Restaurant food seemed to lack the tradition a little too."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "The minute we entered the India Quay we had first class service. We had come from Edinburgh so this was our first visit and it certainly wont be our last. The food was absolutely wonderful. 3 of us had the same!, 1 had vegetarian and the other a different meal. We all loved it."

  • "Pre theatre choice is excellent , food beautiful and could not fault service , only gave 4 stars for value as house wine and indeed all wine is vastly over priced but that is pretty much the norm ."
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "food excellant and value good for standard, but slightly spoiled by service. Not that it was awful, just too many different people asking how your meal was, and getting our starter moved before we had finished it to serve main course."
    dined on 01/02/2014
  • "We have visited india quay several times now , the buffet is always fresh and large naan of your choice comes to the table . On this occassion the starters were amazing and mains were a bit disappointing although overall very happy and would go back"
    dined on 25/01/2014
  • "Ordered pre-theatre. Pakora starters very big portion, slight aftertaste, possibly reheated or older oils. Main curries very good although rather too much garlic even for a garlic dish. Naan very nice, dessert excellent. Seats way to soft, need firmer cushioning which gave impression of slightly too high a table top when seated hence shortened our stay as too uncomfortable. Cutlery handles oddly shaped and uncomfortable to hold. Service was v good and would've scored excellent BUT added service charge to a bill for two which my partner told me about after I'd left a nice tip. Very naughty and unhappy they did. All in all, nice restaurant on way to Hydro but won't go out my way just to go back as there are many good or better restaurants"
    dined on 25/01/2014
  • "I really loved this place, it has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The staff are very polite and helpful. The food was outstanding. I had the south Indian chilli garlic curry and it was that good I could go back every night for it. Other dishes on the table were outstanding as well. Highly recommended."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "Best Indian dining expereince I have ever had. My son and myself travelled over 360 miles to watch a show at the Hydro but would seriously consider going back just for a meal at India Quay. Lovely atmosphere, great service, great food and amazing value."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "We loved this restaurant. The staff were helpful & friendly. The place itself is clean & modern & was full of diners. As stated on their web page, a view of the Arc. We had the a la carte menu, eating downstairs. Both starter & main we're absolutely amazing. The menu had the classic Indian dishes, but with a few different choices & was not expensive. You have to go there & you can walk from the city centre, close to SECC, Hilton & Marriot hotels."
    dined on 18/01/2014
  • "Great service and plthe best Indian meal I've ever had. We had the buffet which was prepared for us on our arrival - great choice of starters and mains. Only disappointment was that there was no tikka masala but there was plenty of other dishes to try. Lovely restaurant perfect for a family meal or special occasion"

It's perfectly located with the SECC, Clyde Auditorium and The Hydro on its doorstep so if your attending an event at either of these venues then look no further for a fantastic meal."
