Diner Reviews
  • "Two of us was sitting at a table for four after 30 mins they brought another couple in to sit next to us which rather spoilt it luckily the two people refused to sit there , this was not good especially when spending quite a lot of money . Could do with some noodles on the menu as only rice available and menu states brandies when there is none only whiskey. Other than the table problem a very enjoyable experience ."

  • "A great place to take teenagers. The ability for each person to order, play games, change the table cloth and view the chef by a control pad on the table is fun and unusual. Our guest from New York City said he had not seen anything like it. The food is Asian and came to the table quickly. I will go back."

  • "Had our first experience of Inamo on saturday for our daughters 16th, sent photos to restaurant so they could project them onto the table as a surprise for our daughter, her face was a picture!! It made her birthday even more special. The food was just delicious & the service was quick & staff were very friendly and helpful. Would DEFINITELY go back, can't wait already."

  • "I took a friend for dinner here after searching for a fun, chilled & uncompromising food spot. It was a hit. Lovely atmosphere and experience."

  • "the main reason for coming here is the quirky interactive menu and I was expecting average food and high prices. although the prices were maybe slightly higher than a normal Japanese, the food was excellent and the whole experience fun. one tip ... if booking more than 6 seats you need to fill out a form as well as top table booking ... and you can only really get them to send it to you by ringing them."

  • "Waiters were very slow, we had to ask to bring our wine, then water few times.."

  • "if you have a small appetite and deep wallet. Ordering online, changing tablecloths and playing games was great fun but portions were small particularly the mains, and rice was sticky (possibly intended) but unsalted and awful. Starters, main and rice for 2 was £70 (with drinks) Good job the pre-dinner drinks at the bar were free !!! We loved it but a didn't take my 17 year old son- he would have left hungry. However very glad we went."

  • "I booked this on the basis of the reviews. We were meeting up to catch up, so wanted somewhere where we could have a fun time. On arrival (at 6:15) we were told that the next booking for our table was an hour and a half later - however, we were not hassled to give up our table and left at 9:00! The technology was great fun but I would advise looking at the menu on-line before going - by the time we had scrolled through the various menu choices, we had forgotten what was at the start! The food was generally good, as was the service, but when we wanted to ask about the flavours available for the ice creams and sorbets, we had to wait a while for someone to come to the table, and then for our server to go and find out!"

  • "We loved this restaurant! The food was excellent and our children loved the interactive menu. It was quite difficult to see what was on offer and to manage what was being ordered… But that just added to the fun! The meals were absolutely delicious and the service, with the interactive ordering, was quick and helpful. My children love viewing the chef cam and also playing games on their boards! Excellent It wasn't cheap, at £160 for 4 for the meal (included 2 beers) but as it was my sons 10th birthday it was okay."

  • "The interactive tables where you order everything yourself and can even play battleship with someone else in the table and see a webcam in the kitchen is absolutely amazing!"

  • "Lovely place with good food. We had the chicken satay and chilli aubergine to start with which was great, the mains were ok (veg red thai curry and salmon) and the puds were awesome (creme brulee). The downside was that we booked the offer of three courses with a glass of house wine for fixed price, but when we arrived we were told the offer was only available until 7.15 (we booked for 7.30). This was not clear anywhere online and in fact toptable offered sittings of 7.30 and 8pm. So some sort of mix up there. However, the restaurant honoured the deal, so that was nice of them. And we had a lovely time. We went mid week, so it was quiet and didn't have the issue with service that other reviewers have experienced. Enjoy!"

  • "I always love going to Inamo restaurants, not only is the food exceptional but the interactive table is a fun addition to the traditional dining experience."

  • "Went for my girlfriends birthday. The idea behind the restaurant was really good fun. The food was quite pricey for what it was but was delicious."

  • "The staff were so friendly and lovely on arrival. We were early so we took a seat the bar and had drinks. The bar tender was lovely and allowed me to try a taster of the two bottles of prosecco - so that I could choose the one that I liked. The food was lovely, service was a little slow but as I had great company it didn't bother us so much. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others."

  • "Having read good reviews about this place, I took my husband here for his birthday. We left very disappointed. Food ok tasting, portions small, service slow, overpriced. We waited just over 1 hour before our food arrived. Waited 30 min for a drink to arrive. The kitchen ran out of food due to their busy lunch hours and staff numbers were low. Won't go back. The manager apologies and offered us a glass of champagne which was a lovely gesture. If you are looking for good food and willing to spend £20 more than what you would probably spend here, go to Hakkasan and have their taster menu which leaves you very full and content and service amazing."

  • "We were greeting with a complimentary flute of Mumm's champaign and, because it was our anniversary, a very nice chocolate cake dessert...well-done! The ambiance is modern/posh and cool! We started with some sushi choices, all very fresh and tasty...the seared tuna was amazingly prepared and brilliant! I could have eaten 3 more portions...then we moved to the duck pancakes, superb....the spicy aubergine, brilliant...salmon rolls with avocado, bravo! Good service, happy day and I would come back here soon, everything was just right!!!!"

  • "A wonderful restaurant with high quality food. It was interesting that, given the 'self service' nature of the restaurant, I felt more looked after with incredibly attentive staff than I normally do when dining out. Hats off to the team - I would highly recommend and would not hesitate to go again."

  • "Sadly Inamo was a huge let down, the food was OK but as soon as we were seated we were told what time we had to leave, I know I’m in Central London but...Come on. The staff rely on the interactive tables completely and don’t come over and ask if everything’s OK, about ten minutes before the time they told us to leave they were hovering asking if we were done when we clearly weren’t. All dishes came at once which is impossible to fit on one table, no one came to check if we needed anymore plates until it was almost time for us to leave, then they were like flies round.. No one came to see us out when we had finished, the 10% service was laughable, if it hadn't been Mother's Day I would have refused to pay it. I won't be going back."

  • "When first coming across Inamo it caught my eye straight away. The interactive tables were obviously different and the restaurant and food itself seemed appealing just by the pictures. When dining here, my experience was far beyond what I expected with astonishing service, delicious food and a great ambiance. Being new to the restaurant the interactive features were clearly explained by a member of staff right after we were seated and any of our needs were met by the delightful staff there. The food was beautiful and I felt for the whole dining experience the set £15 for two courses menu was worth every penny. I would definitely come back here again and would highly recommended it to anyone."

  • "Went to celebrate my birthday for dinner. Was my first visit and chose it for the novelty factor. The food was good but pricey for what it was but the service left a lot to be asked for. Had to ask several waiters for sake cups as they only gave us 2 when there were 4 of us. Also had to grab our own plates from other tables as was tired of waiting for the waiter to come. The interactive experience was fun and kept my children occupied. The cheekiest thing though was that they put a candle on my son's dessert to say happy birthday to me (which he wasn't too pleased about). For a restaurant that charges so much they could have given me something on the house to say happy birthday. Paid £170 for 4 adults and 2 children but still left hungry."

  • "Good experience, like the venue and I'll recommend to are friend's ."

  • "yes we like experiences and novelty but at the end of it, if we're headed to a restaurant we want good food. Food was lacking in flavour and they were unable to accommodate minor alterations to dishes e.g. to add chicken. Service was little to none! Although the restaurant encourages you to call for service using the interactive table, no-one came after a few calls and we had to go and find staff! The lady who did attend to us and our complaint was not humble in the slightest and even bordering rude. We ended our night in another local restaurant."

  • "A fun way to dine. Enjoyed ordering, watching the kitchen work and even changing the tabletop design from our seats. Lovely food and good value for money however took quite a while to receive drinks etc which we didn't really understand as that seemed to be one of the few things the waiters needed to do! Would still recommend for the food and the experience!"

  • "Great place to meet friends for an informal evening. Food was ordered at random from an international menu, and the interactive screen tables were a big hit with the younger members of our party, who were able to duck out of conversation now and then for a quick game, so everyone was happy. Slightly uppish in price, but a great evening. Would recommend."

  • "I took my boyfriend here for an anniversary dinner and we loved it! Such a great concept! Also helps that my boyfriend is a bit of an nerd, so he absolutely loved it :)"
    dined on 22/03/2014
  • "Great concept restaurant. A bit on the pricey side, but food was tasty and cocktails were lovely. Difficult to rate the service as you order yourself and barely see the staff, though it did take a while to catch someone's attention for the bill and for a glass of water. Slightly ruined by the family on the table behind us who allowed their kids to run around the restaurant. Would have been good if the staff had addressed this as it really is more of a 'grown up' restaurant in my opinion."
    dined on 15/10/2013
  • "The food was lovely as was the experience. The only thing to make it better would be to turn the music down."

  • "The Inamo recipe works really well: Great location + Cool design + Interactive concept neatly applied + Fantastic food ------------------------- I'll be back many many times Highly recommended"

  • "I took my 7 year old grandson for lunch before a matinee and he loved everything about the place. The food is very good and the fact that you can play games at the table and also see into the kitchen made his day. I have been before with a 10 year old and he also enjoyed it very much."

  • "We've been previously on a friday and were impressed enough to invite friends for dinner on a sunday. It was exceedingly disappointing. Service were non existent. Asked for ice for the drinks twice but not served. Desert never arrived. Very very bad....."
    dined on 16/03/2014
  • "I thought the whole concept was brilliant and was very interesting. The tables were easy to use and it looked great. The food also was nice but I didn't feel it had that much choice to be honest. And there were a lot of vegetarian dishes too. At the end we asked about 3 different waiters for some tap water but they were busy to be fair. Overall we had a really food time there."

  • "Inamo is a great place to dine, whether it is a romantic evening for two, a special occasion or quite simply a get together with friends and family. The whole experience is amazing from the way you order using the touch screen interface to getting a wide varieties of dishes to choice from. The vegetarian options and the drinks menu are both very nice and overall I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends."

  • "Food was good, quite small portions although did opt for the smaller dishes to share. Flavor was good but I have had better, Service was great and staff were friendly. Overall a good experience, unsure if I would go back."

  • "A bit alienating when its just the two of us, food is mediocre and portions are a bit silly."
    dined on 09/03/2014
  • "This was my first time at Inamo so I was very curious of what to expect. The story is a mixed one. The concept is novel and fun and the food was generally excellent (but do not order the Chirashi unless you like to pay £16 for a pile of rice with 3 pieces of sushi on it). The service however was sadly and comically very bad! There were two of us and we both agreed this was some of the worst. Problems ranged from long waits while plenty of tables sat empty, a bar which is not really joined up with the restaurant, you sit with strangers at bigger tables (I'm not a fan, and this wasn't clear on the website), a waiter who moved our food about while we were trying to eat it, spillage of drinks, a "Request waiter" button that does nothing ...."
