Service and ambiance were excellent, waitress very attentive but not over the top.
Food was well cooked and presented and there was a good range of wines.
There was no problem getting the bill at the end.

Food was really good quality and there were several vegetarian options for me to choose from. I thought that the space might be too dark based on pictures from the restaurant's website but the room has a huge and beautiful window which made the room nice and light. I had also worried that it might be too noisy being in such an open plan space but it wasn't at all. I'll not go into song and dance detail but a fair summary is attentive but not intrusive service - and always relaxed, friendly and with a smile. The food is well presented in a contemporary style - loved the French fries in a container and the wooden serving plate.
The food itself was, and from experience, always is fabulous. Cooked to perfection, seasoned well and just the right amount on the plate to allow you to sample all courses should you wish to.
The wine list is pretty broad both on variety and region so should satisfy the majority.

That gave a very exclusive feel, to the friendly hosts as you walked up the stairs and through the door. The food was excellent, well presented and the atmosphere was superb. It had a feel of a restaurant you would expect to find in London but without the prices. They have a Sunday "Host a Roast" where you carve your eat at the table. We had sirloin of beef which was excellent. It has a great atmosphere and the venue is wonderful. It truly lived up to its excellent reputation. The Sunday lunch is very good, with the meat cooked individually ( so pork loin, chicken supreme, Barnsley lamb chop) rather than sliced off a joint which might have been cooked hours before the meal, as can be the case in some places.
Our waitress and waiters were charming and attentive without being intrusive.
We will certainly return. It is unfortunately very noisy in there and though the food is very good, there is a distinct lack of vegetarian dishes. Most dishes seem to be burger, sausage and meat things which I don't favour.

We felt the prices were very reasonble compared to the two aforementioned places, and in our view the quality was better than Brown's based on recent experiences there.
