Hangleton ManorA pleasant experienceThree of us went for lunch. There was a good selection of food on the extensive menu, accompanied by a good choice of beer or wine. The food was served with little delay by a pleasant waitress. It was attractively presented and tasty. Both male diners had a substantial hamburger and I had the small size portion of fish and chips. (Several main meals came in lady sized quantities)
The building itself is historic; at least 500 years old. I would have loved a guided tour!
I'm sure we will go again.21/05/2013 00:00:00LovelyVisited on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Kids played in the garden, we all had a nice meal and then sat outside whilst the kids played. Lovely setting would recommend19/05/2013 00:00:00Great eveningOur recent visit was good, menu has been updated excellent choices !17/05/2013 00:00:00Food for thoughtDisable access a little trick smaller scooters and the peebles on the car park24/04/2013 00:00:00Great food and serviceWe had booked online which was very easy. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to a table straight away. The menu had a good selection and the daily specials board had some great options. The service was very good , we had a slight delay in our main course arriving , but we kept informed as to the reason and progress of our meal. When the food arrived the portion size was very good and quality was excellent.13/04/2013 00:00:00Great food, lovely atmosphereOur party of 4 had starters, mains and desserts - without exception the food was extremely good. We recommend the steak (but ask for the sauce to the side as it comes on top of the steak which we felt smothered it) and the pies in a nice crumbly pastry and filled to the brim. Portions were not too big, but still very filling. Great choice of wines, beers, ales and soft drinks. We ate in the main restaurant part, not the bar side, and the setting was lovely and cosy (although the toilets were freezing - more heating please!). Service in taking our orders could have been a bit quicker at times, but to be honest it made a nice change to be able to dine out in a relaxed setting and not be rushed! Very reasonable prices too. Highly recommended.06/04/2013 00:00:00birthday treatfood and service v.good but Ithought drinks very expensive (especially soft drinks) but overall a nice evening out to celebrate mine and my wife's joint birthdays06/04/2013 00:00:00relaxed diningbrilliant love it here nice atmosphere loads of room06/04/2013 00:00:00Back to it's usual greaAfter a dodgy time last year with various management changes, I'm really pleased that our favourite pub/restaurant is back on track with great food and generally great service.
The low score for service this time is down to the 10 minute wait we had, without even an acknowledgement, despite four members of staff seeing us / walking past us. In the end I walked through to the further restaurant area and found one of the usual waitresses who showed us to our table.
From that point on, it was an excellent time with the usual excellent service and fabulous food.
Thank you.31/03/2013 00:00:00An excellant find.....willAn excellant find.....will certainly be visiting again!!!31/03/2013 00:00:00Go there! It's lovelyChild friendly, great kids meal options! Both my children enjoyed their dinner and left clean plates!!
Lovely pie and gravy!
Great service, very friendly, helpful and smiley staff!!
All in all a wonderful birthday evening!!09/03/2013 00:00:00lovely lunchI booked Hangleton for a birthday lunch and went with six other people including my children who are 8 & 14. We all enjoyed our food. They catered for all tastes and had a kids menu which was good for my youngest. Although it is child friendly you still get a good ambience and feel you are dining somewhere special. I would definitely go back again and not just for a special occasion.23/02/2013 00:00:00delectable foodWe have eaten here for many years and chefs come and go. The current one is clearly excellent and we have enjoyed an evening meal here twice in 10 days. The food is good, on this occasion the service was wonderful (it isn;t always) and it is good value for money.19/02/2013 00:00:0091st birthday celebrationWe were very happy with the meal but on occasions such as these it would have been good to have a round table and the large trestle table meant that the people at each end never spoke to each other. Perhaps two smaller trestle table placed in a square could work03/02/2013 00:00:00Mid week lunchWe had lunch on Thursday 17th January 2013. The service was very good and a good choice of menu, including a 2 or 3 course deal. Very pleasant surroundings and not cramped for space. Lovely warm toilet area - important when temperatures outside below freezing!16/01/2013 16:00:00Satisfaction guaranteedAlong with a group of friends, I eat at Hangleton Manor once a month. The menu provides an excellent range of choices with vegetarian options available and a good wines' choice. There is always a 'Specials' board.on display. Also, the availabilty of parking and a very good bar area is an important part of the overall reason for our going to HM. The ambience in the restaurant is very good, as is the service - attentive, without being 'over the top'. I also like the convenience of being able to book a table on line and you always receive a quick acknowledgement of the booking. Overall, I strongly recommend a visit to Hangleton Manor for a very good evening (or lunch) out - you won't be disappointed.15/01/2013 16:00:00Back on trackI love the Hangleton Manor, I live locally and have been a customer for thirty years.
Over the last 18 months or so, there were various management changes and the service and quality was unreliable at times but I'm delighted to write that I've been quite a lot over the last month or so and they are back on track. Lets hope the new managers stay.
Thank you.03/01/2013 16:00:00SSH, keep this pub/restaurant quietThe restaurant/pub is located outside the main Brighton area but don't let that put you off. As soon as you arrive you are treated to outstanding service in a lovely setting (flint, historic building with lovely gardens). The menu is extensive and the food all cooked fresh. Having lived in Brighton for a long time this is a jewel that we've only recently found. We haven't been disappointed each time we have been there and the family we have taken have all raved about the food and service. We also asked via the on-line special request to be seated near a radiator/fire as we were bringing elderly relatives. This was sorted and the Grandparents were unaware but very thankful. Thank you once again for a fantastic evening.02/01/2013 16:00:00
