I had booked the table to have a reunion with a favourite cousin and his wife, visiting from Australia so was nervous about having chosen a restaurant I had never used before but it was a great choice. The décor and positioning of the tables made it cosy and easy to talk. The food was very good except my cousin and I ordered the lamb loin steak on the specials board and were told it was medium rare - ideal. When it arrived it was millimetres thick, hard and very clearly not medium rare. However when we complained the meal was replaced with a new piece of lamb prepared for both of us, cooked medium rare and delicious. The other dishes were very good apparently. Good: fabulous starters (perfect calamari, lovely bruschetta), nice atmosphere (down a little side street, where you'd feel lucky if you found this place while on holiday not in England), not too expensive, and some very, very famous fellow diners. It's also 10 minutes walk to Victoria Station, in an area that doesn't have a lot of decent restaurants. Not so good: so-so mains - an odd veal ragu without tomato (not unpleasant, but slightly tasteless), and a lasagne with something like plain passata tipped on the top. Bad: my pasta was all stuck together and the waitress seemed to think this was normal (it isn't). For really fine Italian go elsewhere, but at half the price, this isn't half bad.07/05/2013 00:00:00Great little secretI had not noticed the arrival of this super little Italian till walking past it after deviating on my route home from work. It looked interesting and a little research showed it was well-regarded. A Top Table deal was just the motivation to try it out. A varied menu with enough options to appeal across age-groups. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. Food excellent and I particularly liked the wine list which covered all bases. This could displace my current local favourite: I'll can't wait to go back just to check!27/04/2013 00:00:00Exceptional food and serviceWe took a party of six for dinner last Saturday nigh and enjoyed the food and the service very much. Our guestes loved Gustoso and found the pasta dishes to be outstanding. I had the mozzarella on aubergine and the mozzarella was out of this world. Nothing like the supermarket versions. The lamb dish which was also very good. The service was efficient and very friendly without being in any way intrusive. The restaurant was very busy, full of happy diners. We felt that all the staff took a pride in their jobs, rare to find in London. We will come back often aand we would deifinitely recommend this reatautrant.

For the special occasion of a pre-Marathon dinner, we choosed this one and I must really say that this place is worth the good reviews it has. Is far more better than a large amount of restaurants in Italy, so please go and try. We booked for a pre-theatre meal, so needed quick prompt service, which we certainly got. The staff were friendly and helpful. A 500ml carafe of wine was a good idea, as to down a whole bottle during a quick pre-theatre visit is often too much! The wine was at a perfect temperature too. The restaurant was quiet, but that's probably because it was early evening. A couple of them had been there before and recomended it.
I must say the food was fantastic as was the large Italian wine list , really good stuff , amazing flavors.
Service was good as well and very helpful, polite but not stuffy.

Spaceous and airy with a wide menu to choose from and unobtrusive yet very efficient service made it a very pleasant experience. A plate of linguini with prawns was perfect and companion's cod with puy lentils didn't dissapoint either. After moments of being seated at very comfortable table for 5, we were offered a glass of complimentary Champagne each to toast the "Birthday girl. we stayed at Premier Inn Victoria so i researched local restaurants in the Victoria area, what a find in an of the beaten track kind of way only a short walk about 10 minuets from the hotel. we arrived early and were seated down straight away the place was buzzing with dinners ( always a good sign i think ) we had some outstanding Italian food and wine and great service what a great start to a great weekend.22/02/2013 00:00:00First visit.First visit but will be back and would recommend. The portions are generous, the choices that we tried (there were six of us) were all deemed "delicious" and the wines were equally as good. Plus the rest rooms were exquisite clean and well equipped, the staff friendly and helpful and the atmosphere convivial.
