The restaurant is situated behind Sainsbury's and although not off the beaten track it does have quite seclusion about it which is lovely. We had a party of 4 unfortunately 2 were a bit tardy up until their arrival we had really good service and constant asking if we needed anything. However as it got busy and very full our waiting time between courses (35 minutes) was a bit much it was slow even to get water and billed for items we never served. However the food we had was (eventually) tremendous and the live music was the icing on the cake and for that reason I would definitely return. Live entertainment was provided and although the lady singer was very good, it was very loud and it was difficult to hear what each other were saying. So it has to be special and we chose this. We are late for the reservation but we got our table just after a short wait. The restaurant is quite busy and all the waiters and waitresses are running around to serve the customers. Our oder has been taken after 15min but has been well instructed and recommended. The dessert menu left us less options as the most pop ones have been sold out for that night. The food delivery is fast and the quality is good for the price. Pity that the half bottle wine which is included in the special offer, is not served in the bottle but in a vessel. The wine is ok. The food and service was great. The service overall was very good but the food was the outstanding feature. Its rare that every meal, starter, main and desert for all diners is excellent but that was our experience. The lamb shank fell off the bone, the calamari was perfect, the chips were chunky and well cooked and the mushroom side was great. I cannot recommend the food enough. The waiters were attentive without being overbearing, we did not feel rushed.
I would have preferred to sit a little further away from the live entertainment which was loud enough to necessitate us raising our voices and if you want a quiet night (on a Friday) then you might want to request a table far from the entertainer.

I had the antipasto italiano - a very tasty selection of meats with cheese, if a little on the large side as a starter. My companion had the delicious gnocchi. Main courses of lamb shank and steak were again very good, with the portions being slighly larger than is now the norm. Service was excellent, the waitresses were very attentive and everything was very efficient, even though the restaurant was busy with christmas parties. The wine list looked good, although we had the house red, free with our offer but probably best avoided if you are paying for it.
