Grand Imperial LondonA peaceful haven from the bustle.Reliable, classy, generous portions and great cooking.
Grand Imperial sets a great standard for others to live up to.29/04/2013 00:00:00Felicious foodFood in Grand Imperial is always up to standard. My favourite Chinese in London! Service need to improve a bit more.27/04/2013 00:00:00Great for Dim Sum!The Grand Imperial was an extremely high class restaurant with the prices to match, but the service was amazing with a waiter there all the time except towards the end when they left you alone to finish in peace. While their normal prices are more expensive because of their Michelin star rating, their dim sum menu prices are very reasonable (around £3-£4 a plate) and comparable to other dim sum places around London and I would recommend trying it. The only thing is their dim sum plates come with 3 dumplings each instead of 4, so I guess that makes it a bit more expensive.07/04/2013 00:00:00Good for dimsum with a bigGood for dimsum with a big group; needs more vegan options though01/04/2013 00:00:00Best Chinese food for some time2 of us went for dinner on a Friday night - atmosphere was about right, not too busy, not empty by any means. Service was prompt and conscientious. Food was of fantastic quality, usual staples were as one would expect but the meat dishes were superb, truly delicious without leaving the greasy feeling that cheaper Chinese food often leaves. Good selection of drinks all round as well.29/03/2013 00:00:00Loved it!Would definitely recommend this place. Lovely food, service and setting. One of the best Chinese's (if not, the best) I have ever had in London. Would definitely recommend.26/03/2013 00:00:00Dinner at the Grand ImperialExcellent food as usual. I would recommend the Peking Duck any day. Service impeccable as always. A beautiful restaurant, spacious and airy.19/03/2013 00:00:00FantasticI've been to grand imperial a few times now and I'm always delighted with everything we've ordered. The staff are warm and friendly, it's a beautiful grand setting without being stuffy, a great place for a quiet meal be it with parents, business associates or a date. The dim sum is delicious, beautifully presentec and very reasonably priced. The seafood and roast duck are always superbly executed, I can't recommend this place highly enough!03/03/2013 00:00:00Grand ImperialWe went for the Top Table duck offer, and what a show. Amazing service and the presentation of our duck made the evening more than just dinner as they bring it over for inspection and carve (expertly) at the table. Service was excellent all evening. Very relaxing luxurious restaurant, very easy to forget you are in Victoria station (which would have put me off initially if it hasn't been recommended). Would have been quite expensive without the offer but well worth a trip.27/02/2013 00:00:00excellentit serves very authentic Chinese food, we thoroughly enjoyed its peking duck, which was served the traditional way as we used to have it in Hong Kong. Crispy and yum! Would definitely go again for it.26/02/2013 00:00:00An enjoyable lunchThe Peking duck offer was good value for money. I like the way it was carved infront of the dinner, and how it was presented.
The restaurent was very busy that lunch time, so the service was not as good as my previous visit. Perhaps that was the reason when the lobster noodles was served it wasn't hot.
I like the dinning experience at this Restaurent, I will go back soon.26/02/2013 00:00:00Always great foodI'm quite a regular for the peking duck, which is fantastic, especially with the shredded duck in lettuce leaves chosen as a second dish. Service is always friendly but, unusually, was very slow at my last visit. Hopefully just a one-off blip as everything else was great as always!22/02/2013 00:00:00everything is goodI sometime use this restaurant which is really comfortable for me. The foods are excellent, servises are fab and staffs are very kindly.20/02/2013 00:00:00Oasis of eleganceThe Victoria area is known for the quick bite and some are good. Grand Imperial is an understated elegant Chinese restaurant that offers an express lunch menu for those of us who'd like a working lunch sans sandwiches. It has an adult atmosphere which was great during the onslaught of half-term. It was busy but they seemed to cope. If you're planning to eat and run, then this is not the place. The service is efficient and paced for the full lunch hour. Because we eere discussing work over lunch, it was perfect. Good no fuss choices - beautiful starters and then more functionsl but delicious rice/ noodle mains. Recommended.19/02/2013 00:00:00Good value for money. NiceGood value for money. Didn't really know what to expect so more detail on the website would be handy! We were not offered more drinks after we finished the champagne and I had to ask for a drinks menu. But all in all a lovely evening with good presentation.25/01/2013 16:00:00What a find for usWe had looked at various venues for a per theatre dinner and eventually decided on Oriental dinner and narrowed it down to Grand imperial. We booked on line with Toptable and that was a pleasure and confirmed within minutes. We arrived at the restaurant and immediately fell in love with the place it was just what we wanted. Wine was reasonable for London and service was just outstanding attentive but unobtrusive , congratulations go to the chef for his outstanding selection of food the three of us shared our food stir fried beef slices was outstanding, overall great value for money. We left totally satisfied after finishing with deep fried ice cream delicious. We left and within minutes were at the theatre , definitely will go back.09/01/2013 16:00:00I really like it here. The Toptable deal simply fantastic value for money.01/01/2013 16:00:00one of the best ducks in townIt's my favourite peking duck in London. It's also a good deal with £30 for two. This includes a duck cooked two ways and two glasses of champion.01/01/2013 16:00:00Good afternoon tea with aGood afternoon tea with a focus on savouries. That was positive as sweets were not nearly as well done.01/01/2013 00:00:00Unexpected SurpriseI booked this as a last minute decision to have something to eat before seeing Wicked. Booked the Duck and champagne deal but was not expecting the ambiance, service and quality when I attended.
Beautiful location (part of Belgravia Hotel) although we walked past it as it is very discreet. Would advise for special occasion, business dinners and take advantage of any deal there. The surroundings are lovely - a bit of a supprise if it is your first time - wandering off the hectic tube and train station and straight into this calm and clean place. It is good for groups as well and I have been here on several occassions with groups of about 8. The toptable duck deal is very good value and well worth a try!07/11/2012 16:00:005th time back and still loving it!Seems I can't get enough of this place. 5th time back in as many months! I took a friend here and we very much enjoyed the high quality Cantonese food at the outstanding prices on the toptable menu. The only thing that lets this place down is that the level of service is inconsistent with some of the waiters been quite slow and inattentive. However, the gorgeous ambience and lovely food more than makes up for this and I will definitely be going back!31/10/2012 00:00:00best value for money in londonbest value for money among the offers available on toptable!14/10/2012 00:00:00Incredible Cantonese Food3rd visit to Grand Imperial and just as impressed with the amazing food, excellent service and wonderful ambience. The food was delicious and something for everyone (toptable deal to lobster) and at reasonable price. The staff were perfect as ever and at the end of the meal we thought about going to the pub but loved the place so much we stayed for another bottle of wine. No Michelin stars are in the post but let me know if you know of a better tasting Chinese for this value in London in such a setting.18/09/2012 00:00:00Peking duck was amazing once againThis was our second visit for the Peking duck. The food was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.21/08/2012 16:00:00Real Chinese fine dining experienceThere are a lot of Chinese restaurants in London, many that claim to be fine dining too but only fool to the eye as the food disappoints. But this is not the case for Grand Imperial. The food is amazingly authentic, high in quality, greaseless, fresh & little or no msg. It caters for those looking for real Chinese style cooking using wok energy, garlic & herbs to create flavour, cooked properly & authentic homemade sauces given lightly to allow the high quality ingredients to shine through for flavour. Nothing was salty, everything was flavoursome & all dishes cooked to perfection from the soup to the lean crispy roasted duck & the really crispy pork belly to the silky tofu hotpot, tender succulent beef cubes to the fluffy rice & sweet veg.21/08/2012 00:00:00best value for money in londonthe peking duck for two with champagne for £30 is the best value for money in london! amazing17/08/2012 00:00:00As usual a fantastic experienceThis is a regular eating out experience for me that never disapoints, the food, service and exceptional TT deal is amasing, as always I recommend this restaurant all the time and of course I will be back11/08/2012 00:00:00Peking Duck £20 PromotionSensational value and great tasting. Have returned multiple times now with different groups of friends using the Duck toptable menu and has not failed to impress. Everyone that has come with have suggested we go again. The service is friendly, duck is very good, and the venue itself is so very tranquil in comparison to the busy street outside.
